5 or so for today (Tues)
1) MrB talking to me online in the wee small hours this morning. :-)
2) Sons back to school! They've got a new house system and are both in Gryffindor. Which is better than being in Slytherin, I imagine!
3) Tidied up without interuption.
4) Walked to mum and dad's and back (7 miles).
5) Also walked the dog for half an hour while I was down there and picked up a few sacks of cider apples so I ache a bit now.
6) Sons happy after their first day back.
7) Changed smaller son's "kitchen" under the stairs. It's been there for years. It is now a Wand Making Workshop.
P.S Hello, Beachbaby, glad to hear you are feeling better.0 -

Mhags my favourite flowers are daffies too, I have two huge nets of bulbs to plant out if the rain and winds ever stop!
nuttybabe I must find out how you make yogurt in a slow cooker. Love using my sc
Carolyntia I've no doubt you felt a lot better for clearing the air with HR
1. Attacked the latest pile of filing/shredding, the files are slowly getting thinner
2. As todays effort toward saving fuel in Winter I made four heat deflectors for the radiators. Felt like I was back at school, cutting, sticking and gluing
3. Picked 5 more tomatoes to add to the little hoard in the fridge
4. Found a beautiful card in my stash for DNeighbour's birthday on Friday. She's had her present (wanted cash from everyone to get her beautiful long curly hair straightened) so will buy some nice bright flowers, hopefully they'll cheer up these horrid dark days
5. Watching the cricket
Night night

Night x0 -
Evening all.
beachbaby - welcome back! It's good to hear that you're feeling more yourself again now.
I'm really struggling to think of 5 for today, but I'll do my best:
1) Had a meeting at work this afternoon about a new project I'm meant to be helping out with over the next couple of weeks and I found the explanation totally bewildering. The pleasure was looking around the table and seeing an identical bewildered expression on everyone else's faces - at least it wasn't just me being thick!
2) Resisting the temptation to throw away the remains of the curry I had for dinner last night, which wasn't particularly nice, and instead managing to turn it into something else for tonight's dinner.
3) Having a warm, dry flat on a decidedly chilly autumnal day.
4) Hearing that my grandmother has finally exchanged contracts on her house. :j
Well, four out of five ain't bad!Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all,
I was wondering if anyne had heard from Olliebeak and Savingforoz?-the latter is probably self explanatory!! I enjoyed their posts when I was stalking you all:)
5 for today
1. Gave OH a haircut , I was shocked that he asked me to do it as he has a very serious meeting tomorrow. He must be skint.
2. When I was cutting OH's hair Forrest, a Gumpy sort of hen managed to jump perfectly on to half of the back door which is a "stable door" at a crucial moment whilst I was using the clippers.....It could have been worse.
3.Nice texts from the girls at work.
4. RTC steak ,mushrooms, 3 chips:) and courgettes from the garden for tea.
5. Hens again- laughing at them jumping in the air like basket ball players to try and reach some blackberries
good night all:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all
Sparrer - this is the link i got the receipe from http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/you-can-make-yogurt-in-your-crockpot.html i have some on the go now. I think the only thing i do differently is to put angel delight in at the same time as natural yogurt to give it a flavour. Let us know how it turns out.
Mine for today
1. The sun was shinning when i went for the morning walk.
2. Homemade yogurt for breakfast, nearly out so got another batch doing. Although its chocolate so not sure how that will be but kids wanted it.
3. Cleaned the kitchen & bathroom. Sorted out the cupboard with the batteries and medicines in and cleared a bit more clutter in kitchen and dinning room. Am slowly getting there!
4. Kids were really good on walk to and from school (and it didnt rain), we had a really nice chat and no tantrums!
5. An evening of crochet, with a hot choccy!0 -
Evening all
Sparrer - I had fun...the HR girl looked a tad overwhelmed
CCP - So glad to hear your grandmother has finally exchanged
beachbaby - Hi there
1) Getting to work at 7am to avoid the traffic again
2) New crown fitted and I didn't feel a thing
3) Desk cleared in preparation for tomorrow
4) Only half a day left
5) Getting a couple of yellow sticky items in Asda on the way home from the dentists
I'm a little concerned that I haven't heard from MrB. As you all know he's in Delhi and I heard this morning the court was bombed. Now I know the chances that he was near it are slim but considering he was kidnapped and held to ransom for a month whilst working in South Korea I am worried.....things always seem to happen to him. Please keep your fingers crossed that I get an e-mail soon
ETA - MrB is fine and was 20 miles away when the bomb went off....breathing huge sigh of relief!
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. Woke up with DD in bed with me who gave me a big cuddle and then asked me if I'd like to have stilts to make me 10 feet tall?! She would, because then she could touch the clouds
2. Walked to school with DD rather than take the car
3. Spend 77p on some out of date bread and a library finebut sold some food to a friend (silly girl insisted on buying it off me as she says she's always on the cadge) for £2, so am in profit for the day...think I might count it as a sneaky NSD, just to keep me chirpy
4. Water board are looking into a leaky pipe and will be fixing it on Friday, hoorah!
5. Arranged for my bedroom blind to be repaired....just a bit shocking that I will not have anything up at the window for a week!!! Going to see if I have a curtain pole that can be re-attached to the wall or if the spring loaded one in the bathroom might be anyway near long enough to do the job. My poor neighbours otherwise.........
6. Worked from home so whilst I did drive today, it was less than anticipated....
7. Went to lovely friends for tea, and huge numbers of children played together in the garden (she's a childminder)
8. Planning on going to another lovely friend's house tomorrow after school
9. Had a lovely bath with DD and sang silly songs this evening
10. Mummykins called with good medical news
11. OH was slushy and romantic on text againLooking forward to a big hug tomorrow
12. Feeling nice and snuggly in the sitting room typing this bathed in candlelight
13. Yay, Strictly is back on TV on SaturdayDD and I have been waiting all year for it! I have a feeling OH will never come over for weekends again lol, but I bet he'll secretly like it once he gets used to it
PHEW: GLAD MRB IS FINE X0 -
1. The prospect of our friend coming over later to polish off the rest of the yummy beef stew I made; someone close to her recently died (far before her time, too
) and she's been having a hard time so I'm looking forward to the prospect of getting some proper food down her as her housemate says she's not eating.
2. The yummy beef stew I made today! Not only was it filling and comforting, it's a lovely feeling to have your family stuffed and contented and to smell a good meal waft through the house.
3. I got showered today, and changed into a new pair of PJs. Since giving up work I've had so much more free/flexible time and I can finally have stress free sleeps and enjoy time at home.
4. Watching my daughter laugh and play.
5. Watching the Aristocats with her. It was her first time watching it and I love that film!!0
