Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

    1) NSD.

    2) Gave a colleague a lift to a work event as it was blowing a gale and tipping down with rain (and still is - it's barely stopped all day :().

    3) Free lunch from work, although I have to confess to being rather ungrateful and muttering about getting a something salad sandwich, bag of crisps and some fruit again - it gets a mite tedious if you go to a lot of these events! :o

    4) Got home to find that several of my tomato plants had blown over - luckily they seem to be bent rather than snapped and I've managed to tie them back more or less upright.

    5) A flower has appeared on one of my autumn crocuses - summer's definitely over now that's arrived!

    Have a decent evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Good evening from blustery Sussex

Reverbe-I hope you are well? The bird cage pocket watch arrived today and I am quite impressed with it. For less than a fiver including delivery its not bad. I will get a new cheap silver necklace for it and give it to my neice. Did you have any luck returning yours?

Sparrer- I remember wincyette (sp?). Enough said :)

    5 for today

    1. Visit to the g.p today - I can return to work next week -part time with "workplace adaptations " in place. I really miss my colleagues but not the toll that that certain aspects of the job have had on my body (despite my documented protests). Reasonable adjustments will need to be made in my place of work.

    2. I gave the chickens a treat of freeze dried meal worms. I had to laugh as they are supposed to devour these with gusto -however, I got the tumbleweed look. The meal worms felt like rice krispies in my hand - part of me was tempted:eek:

    3. Communicating with my neice and nephew on facebook for the first time .They live quite a long way from me so we don't really stay in touch as often as we should.

    4. Giving my neighbours 16 eggs. One came round and gave me some huge tomatoes in a sweet little basket from her sons garden. I will have these tommorrow with the rtc steak that we got earlier on today.

    5. Brought a book for 20p in the sale at the library.

    Good night all x
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Evening all

    1) Getting to work at 7am to avoid the traffic (oil and gas conference week)
    2) Picked my trousers up that had been shortened - they are perfect
    3) Getting 40% off shortening the trousers because I belong to the (free) priority club and I had a voucher :money:
    4) Lovely e-mail from MrB when he stopped off in Dubai on his way to Delhi
    5) Had my exit interview today - poor HR girl had a bit of an eye opener but it was good to get it all off my chest :D

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

    5) think I saw a yellowy tomato on one of my plants.

    nighty night all

    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I read in the metro today that Robert Mugabe has prostate cancer and only has a maximum of 2 years to live. I hope he is suffering and the sooner he dies the better. Evil, disgusting and inhumane speciman.

He is supposed to have had other potentailly fatal/lethal illnesses before.

No doubt he will get the best treatment to the end.

I salute people who try to make that country less dreadful.

Which reminds me, one of my pleasures is to give a colleague money to help an orphanage over there (she has a number of "cousins who receive help from family overseas" as far as the banks there are concerned).

I have not given her anything for a month. Eek.

The worse the economy there, the more our donations provide. Mine roughly feeds 6 kids for a month.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

    Evening

Pleasures for the last couple of days:
    1. Having a great day out at the Metro Centre with DD. Train journey only cost 10p in the end thanks to the telegraph promotion :money:
    2. Catching up with my brothers and one of my niecees
    3. DD being very grown up and looking after my mum
    4. Good journey back from the North East played yatzee with DD most of the way, I lost most (all) of the games.
    5. Having my little family back together again. Lots of laughs and conversations tonight

Hugs to all who need them
  • Good evening all. Quietly daring to return to the MSE fold. Feeling more myself than I have for a long time now and hope I am still welcome in these parts. One step at a time, here are my five for today,
    1. Getting the last pair of school trousers available for DD. Unfortunately left it to last minute this year. Oops!
    2. Giving away my ski boots on freecycle - made someone very happy.
    3. Going food shopping with my mum. She drives me nuts but its nice to spend a bit of time together.
    4. DD having friends round for tea. Nice to have the house full again and to cook for more than two.
    5. A rather selfish one this, but finding out my weight gain is down to my medication. Had no idea and was wondering what on earth had suddenly gone wrong.
    Love to all. X
