Love reading these, such simple things, but so lovely and always cheers me up!
Mine
1. Not in work today, so caught up with house stuff, zoomed through the to-do list, in fact!
2. Almost a NSD, but had to buy bedding for spoiled pony!!
3. Went to visit aformentioned pony for cuddles (well she headbutted me, but it's her way of showing affection, I tell myself that)
4. Made HM soup out of frozen peas, tinned mushy peas, some old potatoes, onion, mint sauce, bit of bacon and stock. Fed 3 for lunch some left for tomorrow- got very good feedback!
5. Chilling out with OH tonight, watching rubbish TV
6 Oooh and...we went on a rare trip to the cinema last night, went to pay and it was uber cheap thought they'd made a mistake, but some special thing early on Tuesdays. Took my own minstrels too, purchased from Home Bargains:)0 -
Evening Ladies and Keith,
Carolyntia - so glad you hear form MrB - they are such a worry! I had a boyf who is an army Captain and for most of the time we were seeing each other he was in afghanistan (what some men will do to get away from me!) - but everytime I heard anything on the news about the troops I felt physially sick!
What a rubbish day - I had a day of really pointless training. I felt so sorry for the trainer because he really was not trainer material and the subject was dull... but he was ever so sweet.
1) Lunch provided during the training (boring sandwiches... but yummy fruit which I scoffed)
2) NSD
3) Emailed my mum to ask her nicely to book the last of my flights for my holiday which she has happily has agreed to do
4) BBM messages with two friend to arrange a weekend away when I am home.
5) Late night in the office - but having the lunch that I had prepared and didn't eat for supper... so that was nice and easy. And good to have some vitamins after all the rubbish I've eaten today.
I had to "laugh". As our facilities manager was chucking me out of the office this evening, I remarked to him that I would find it creepy to be in the office all alone at the end of the night when all the lights are off. Apparently there is a ghost on the second floor and he has heard footsteps behind him at night. We will be moving to the second floor in a couple of months so will not be working late by myself again!!! I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe in creepy and unpleasant atmospheres!
Anyway - sleep well my e-friends!
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Mine for today
1. Conference at work - that wasn't the pleasure but had fun with my colleague !!!!!ing about managment ideas!
2. Free lunch which was not only recognisable but edible!
3. Son has been moved from the lowest group to the middle group for english and maths. He has worked really hard and - more importantly - was really proud of himself
4. Man has been to mend the dishwasher - bad news is that it still isn't mended and is going to cost £200  pleasure is that it will be back in service by Monday.
5. My free books have arrived that were my reward for doing a book review - one is worth £60 so i'd never have bought it.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Carolyntia - glad your MrB is fine. (Mine is only in Staffs today!)
5 or so for today (Weds).
1) Smaller son off to school happily.
2) Bigger son and I went for a walk with mum and the dog.
3) Bigger son's long awaited scan. It was very interesting because every time they captured a still shot, they labelled it on the screen. So I've seen his aorta, liver etc today! He's fine. :-) Weirdly, the hernia, which appears to still bulge out, is undetectable on the scan. Not sure why his chest still has a ping pong ball sized lump over where it was!
4) Dropped bigger son off for school although there was only an hour left. Sat in the car waiting for them both to finish and read a magazine.
5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
Weird news - MrsN came round... Goodness only knows why but she appeared to be fishing for information. I kept saying "I don't want to talk about it" (i.e MrN and me) and even said a few times "I am actually getting cross just thinking about it" but she wouldn't take the hint. Finally she said they are selling the house (completely contrary to what MrN always told me, wouldn't you know) and I just said "Oh, that's great news - it will definitely make life easier for me". So I feel like a complete cow now and she didn't hang round after that.0 -
Thank you nuttybabe, it looks so simple! Wish I didn't have things planned cos I'm looking forward to trying it but will just have to be patient until next week
Chicken I sent Ollie a pm a few months ago but her inbox was full, so it didn't go through, of course
Carolyntia what can I say, except 'Men'!! My half-brother was supposed to have an appt in one of the towers on 9/11, and try as we may we couldn't get hold of him. Three days later he answered his phone, he'd changed his appt and gone out of town - with a girl
1. Phoned the surgery for an appt at 10.30am, got one for 11.40am. Amazing!
2. While I was waiting for a scrip from the pharmacy I went into the cs (known locally as H@rr0ds as they're so expensive!) and didn't spend anything, so a nsd
3. Postie brought me some iron on hem webbing, now I can finish off the door curtain and get it hung before Winter
4. DM is in 'supported housing' - debatable - but over the last few weeks the water, electricity, heating and even alarm system have broken down down at various times. Am taking her some bags of essentials this weekend, a bit annoyed at my brother who only lives 10 miles from her but neither he nor his wife have thought to do so. However on the plus side a friend has given me some lovely useful things for her, which should make her life a bit easier
5. Watched a slushy, trashy, B rate movie this afternoon with no blood, killing, violence, bad language etc., and thoroughly enjoyed it
Night night, sweet dreams

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday;
1. Beans on toast for breakfast at DD's request using HM bread
2. Had DD's hair cut not MSE but it looked lovely and she can now see plus if she wants her fringe trimmed it will be free
3. Managed to get some washing dry avoiding the showers
4. Shirts DD needed for school had 20% off
5. Nice glass of wine with dinner
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Good evening all. Many, many thanks for your warm welcomes once again. It feels like coming home. Autumn has definitely arrived up here in the lakes and quite a lot of my sunflowers have blown down. :-( Anyway, I'm warm and toasty this evening. Here are my five for today,
1. A long walk with the dog in the late afternoon sunshine.
2. DD2's first day back at school, so lovely scrambled egg on toast to prepare her for the day ahead.
3. My house clean and tidy!
4. 20% off the necklace i bought for DD1's birthday later in the month.
5. My hair now freshly coloured, straightened, shiny and sleek, courtesy of me and a cheap box of hair colour. Quite unlike the faded, frizzy mess that was there this afternoon.
Oh, and one more for luck. MSE, a quiet house and a glass of wine.
Love to all. X0 -
Evening all
Thanks for all your comments about MrBI'm just glad he's fine. He should be flying home tomorrow
1) Last day at work :j
2) Chocolate cake
3) Sitting in the sun on the patio after I finished at lunch time
4) Visit to library to drop off and pick up
5) Lovely pork chop for dinner
6) Bottle of cider to celebrate
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Evening all.
1) I got a spaghetti squash in my veg box today - a vegetable you see too rarely imo.
2) Took lunch into work with me today - I've been getting out of the habit and must start doing it regularly again.
3) More HG tomatoes are starting to change colour.
4) An omelette for dinner - every time I have one I wonder why I don't eat them more often.
5) Friday tomorrow, and I'll be spending most of the day at an event I run twice a year, which is basically an excuse for me to chat to people all day under the guise of 'training'.
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all
Carolyntia -I am glad Mr B is safe and well .
Frith- Re Mrs. N "prying" - loving the "I know nothing..." approach .
Millie2008 - I love cheeky ponies - mine all had "issues" . Too many to list but their antics kept me warm in the winter!
Sparrer- re Olliebeak , thank you.
5 for today
1. Loving having my canine lodger . She is so good - I will not want to give her back to my Mum at the weekend.
2.I received a letter stating that I should be getting a rebate from my previous utility suppliers.
3. I found an egg in the chicken coop that was so large it would not fit in an egg box. Poor hen!!
4.First attempt at prawn and salmon creamy pasta - it was really nice.
5. My brother came round to take the dog out and we had a nice chat about anything and everything.
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
