  • Not much happening here- I have been marking reports for most of the day (yawn)

    1. Delivery of beads from Mr Postman so I can make a few more presents and some stuff for my friend to sell for her charity
    2. Was meant to be a NSD but I ended up in Home Bargains and got a few bits, mostly essential and money saving
    3. Pony cuddles and brushed the [STRIKE]hairy yak[/STRIKE] oldie
    4. Had a chat with, fussed and fed Dave the cat- looking more and more like he is a stray, so we are going to get him scanned- nothing locally or on the www about a lost cat and he is very lean so I am pretty sure he's either been dumped or is AWOL
    5. Early PJs tonight, ready for mad day in work tomorrow!! Then out tomorrow night with works peeps for a belated birthday curry :)

    1) Got a call from my lovely neighbour asking if I wanted blackberries - said yes and went and picked 4lb in her field.
    2) Aformentioned lovely neighbour also gave me some tomatoes which need using up - so combined with what I have ready now in the greenhouse, I have enough for a batch of red tomato and red onion chutney :T
    3) Collected a big handful of sloes for sloe vodka for xmas while walking the goggies
    4) Bumped into someone I really like :) in the supermarket
    5) Tided my wardrobe/cupboard up and found my coat which was nowhere to be seen at the weekend also found a duvet cover that DD can take to uni so I don't have to buy her one and she doesn't have to buy herself one.

  • Good evening all. I'm in for a lonely night. No DD for the next couple of days so feel at a loss. Think I will cosy in with a glass of wine. My five for today,
    1. Long walk with my dad and the dogs this morning.
    2. Finished reading my latest book.
    3. Weather much improved and managed to get the washing dry.
    4. Counselling session better than expected but still seemed a bit pointless.
    5. Got a nice text from the garage to say that the part for my car has arrived and they can fix it tomorrow.
    Love to all. X

Evening all, and thanks very much for the cheering messages - I'm still feeling a bit down (I think it's the time of year as much as anything - I'll have to get my lightbox out soon :() but better than I did yesterday.

    1) All the help from nice OS forumites advising me on how to minimise the damage I did to my new linen trousers when cutting out a label (I managed to cut the trousers too ).

    2) I was dreading going to a work event this morning but, although it was as bad as I expected, it was considerably shorter than scheduled as they'd totally over-estimated how many staff they would need - after seeing 3 people in two hours several of us gave up and went back to the office! ;)

    3) Unfortunately leaving early meant I didn't get the lunch that was included so I had to buy something instead - the not-very-OS pork and apple sandwich I ended up with was utterly .

    4) A nice and healthy veg noodle stirfry for dinner, flavoured with a bottle of chilli and garlic sauce I got from Approved Foods and have been looking forward to trying. :)

    5) Picked a couple more HG tomatoes - I've now got enought for a small portion to go with my lunch one day. :j

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

((hugs)) for CCP - re the onset of Seasonal Affective Disorder?? you seem to know what "works" for you, which is positive and intuitive.

millie - :rotfl:hairy old yak indeed! I loved it when they would present themselves at the field gate with muck and mud ground into their cheeks , hocks, belly and butt . Happy days.

    1. Funny if not a little gross- I was hunting around in the feezer and came across a flesh coloured plaster. It must have fallen off of OH's finger at some stage and looked like it had a finger still in it:eek:A bit like a severed one from a joke shop.

    2. "Mercurial Muriel" the hen was seen jumping up and down on the plastic corrugated cloche - which gave way under her weight so I shooed out with a tea towel having stuffed herself with my lovely spinach. She must have remembered yesterdays exploits.

3.Tasty chow mein for tea . Fried off some rice noodles -just like Vesta meal crispy noodles, very 1970's.Although then they were yellow.

4.My friend was due to come over today , but I was not really in the mood for company today , as much as I love her. I was secretly glad when she sent a message asking if she could come over tomorrow instead.

5.Going on a comparison site and getting a saving of around £100 on my buildings and contents insurance.

    Have a good evening all

    Evening all

    Mine for today

    1. Homemade butterscotch yogurt for breakfast. I dont know if it was because i used real angel delight instead of cheap one or if it was because i used an electric whisk but it was really thick and creamy. Yummy. :D

    2. A lovely walk to school in the sunshine. None of the kids moaned about walking. Dd was avoiding sharks on the pavement and telling us where we could walk! :p

    3. This morning I cleaned the kitchen, bathroom, hoovered and dusted and then did the ironing and got a few loads of washing dried on line.

    4. Got time to get some college work done this afternoon.

    5. Tea was cod (given to me by neighbour a few months ago when he went fishing that i froze) cooked in garlic butter with lots of salad. lovely, lovely, lovely.
  • Evening everyone. I'm having to really think of five today as am having a bit of a bad day. DD's eyelashes have fallen out again overnight. Not one left.
    Anyway here are my five
    1. Lovely and bright here today.
    2. Washing got dry.
    3. Went to work later again, as did everyone else who i work with.
    4. Quick and easy tea, chicken salad.
    5. Can't really think of one right now, maybe i will try for six tomorrow :o.
Hope everyone has a good evening and hugs to those who need them

She rarely gets turned out naked (poor thing) as she has sweet itch, so from spring to autumn is in her sweetitch rug and during winter, is rugged to the eyeballs as she is old and doesn't hold weight that well. But when I can, I whip her rug off and let her out for a good roll in the mud and she sure makes the most of it and comes in plastered! (how does she get it so far down her ears?) I love those cold, but sunny winter days when she can get a bit of sun on her back and have a good roll. Don't love the clean up much though!!

    Evening all,

Busy day and I am tired...

    1) Managed to snaffle some free bids and bobs from work... loads of fruit and some yoghurt with granola

    2) The cute guy from work who I kissed a little while ago and who I have studiously been avoiding bought me some guzzle puzzles... :) And took the opportunity to snuggle up to me... hmm... talk about blowing hot and cold!

    3) Went to see my elderly aunt and uncle after work. I didn't mention about my birthday but my aunt remembered and baked me a cake... and iced my name on it.... I have never had a cake with my name on!! :D (I have an unusual name so it is never written on anything so I get a daft/childish pleasure from it)

    4) My cousin also came round with her 3 daughters. I see them very rarely so it was nice to see them

    5) Driving to my aunt & uncle with the top down... what a beautiful afternoon

    Nighty night

    L

    4)
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Didn't have a good evening/night last night. Well, I did in many ways as MrB came round and played rugby with the boys and had a pillow fight with smaller son - they're MrB fans too now. :-) Unfortunately, for the first time in many weeks (nearly months!) I was poleaxed by ptsd. And pmt. It's a wonder the pta didn't come round for a go at me too! Anyway, I survived the "world is at an end" feelings and lack of sleep and here are my 5 for today:

    1) Waking up with MrB who didn't do a runner in the night away from the jittery woman.

    2) Smaller son started his course of swimming lessons with school.

    3) Went down to see mum and dad and sat with my brother on the front and saw a family of 3 peregrine falcons. I didn't know they made little mewling kitten noises!

    4) Watched Holby City on iplayer.

    5) Used up yesterday's left overs (from a roast) and tarted them up a bit with some Yorkshires and bread sauce.

    6) Took the boys to the forest for a while with their scooters.

    7) Filled in bigger son's high school application form which was easy as the nearest school is 7 miles away (and very good) and after that they're really pretty inaccessible from here. So I don't have the difficult choices that others have.

    8) Lovely surprise in the post from a fellow MSE-er. :-)
