That's so lovely to have a cake with your name on Ladyhawk, I've never had one with mine on either *sigh*, maybe next year :)

    1. I made a scrummy salad and pasta lunch to take in to the office, nomnom

    2. Fabulous voluntary lesson :)

    3. Lovely emails from a good friend.

    4. Got back on to a private web forum that I've been having problems logging in to, phew!

    5. OH is here and bought a lovely bottle of wine with him.

Going to have an early night ;) too much wine of course!

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Passing some cooking apples and pears onto some friends at work, much appreciated.
    2. Credit card bill being much lower than expected this month, I tend to do all my day to day expenses on the credit card then pay off at the end of month. Good that I have spent less this month.
    3. Free lunch at work and didn't have to sit through the boring meeting either :j
    4. Managed to get some washing dry on my rather short washing line :o
    5. Not OS but OH took us out for a burger for dinner, very yummy and nice not to cook.

Hugs to all who need them but especially CCP, Frith and Forever Saving

Morning all, with many extracted-from-opposites pleasures -
1.1st machine washing since July out on line.
    2. Feeling no better at all, despite amoxycillin, but MUST do car and trailer for Sunday - can't leave it any longer. Pleasure is knowing village Surgery is at hand and they will help. Symptoms are alarming; have never had anything remotely like this at all. Perhaps I've been lucky until now.
    3. Had to take bus into town late yesterday, when I found car battery flat, BUT neighbour's brother is coming to apply jump-start today. Bus journey was better for me, in fact.
    4. Someone had left the day's Grauniad on bus - read it all as we meandered through villages and countryside. Esp. enjoyed the rugby coverage and good rapportage sur Sam Warburton.
    6. Bought paper reel of caps from old-fashioned toyshop for the 1950 cowboy pistol[mint and boxed, Crescent Toys, Made in England]found last Thursday in Villeurbanne...among the mass of - sans doute - ludicrous bits bought.
    7. Set up Bank appt for next week, to sort out horror nightmare of Valence.
    8. Pretty much stuck at i/net research hier, when compos mentis, with some v. pleasing results - 3 exceptional - so far, but none of this counts until it translates to sales. Some of these things need to be ebayed, for wider 'footfall', mais on verra.
9.Treated self to one i-player episode of Antiques Road Trip just b4 minuit, despite its silly set-up-ness.
    10. Woke craving porridge at 3a.m. again, so had some.
    11. Then heard Dr Carl on R5 - pure joy, brilliant man, then slept till 7.15 - unheard of lateness pour moi.
    12. Put rubbish out earlier[if left o/n, cats and others 'investigate']and was quietly hailed by W, en face, who had another perfectly-timed mass of bubble-wrap for me. It comes in on her firm's new machines. Ideal for me:-)
    13. Will now go and sit out back, first time since July, with black tea and hot raspberry apple mix[h/g] I'm eating and drinking what body asks for, no matter what and when.
    ###############
Frith, read your no. 6 and straight away went back to Lyon/Villeurbanne a week ago, where loads of [presumably]students and suits and older prof. women and men are using scooters all along the trottoirs to get around. I was captivated...also gave way to one young nun, all-white habit, who zoomed out from gates on my right on a soft silvery-green one. Who would guess that's where your little thing was waiting to be picked out:-)? Saw several customised with baskets on front for baguettes and other smallish bits.

    Evening all,

I'm sleepy... I've eaten far too much today!

Frith - I love peregrine falcons... they are my favourite birds... so beautiful

    1) Beautiful sunny day

    2) Our client suggested I might want to be seconded to his organisation for the next year... which would be AMAZING! Nothing would come of it but it is nice that he said it... though it possibly was because he thought my bright ruby red heels were very sexy.

    3) Picked my first two red tomatoes from my garden

    4) Sent an email to get some more information on a flat in my street. It is on the market for a very low price so I am considering buying it to do up to sell.

    5) Recieved my birthday card from my mum and dad.

Night night all.. have a great Friday.

  • millie-re sweet itch ( nothing sweet about it) poor pony. I love her already x:D

Ladyhawk-ooooh;) and please can you tell me what "guzzle puzzles"are ? Drinking games maybe? Also that must have been a large cake to have Ladyhawk written across it!:)

ampersand- I am sorry to hear that you are still unwell :( I do love the smell of cap gun paper reels when they have been "fired".

Forever saving- sorry to hear about your daughter .

Frith- re ptsd (hugs) . I have seen a Psychologist for this and thankfully had a "light bulb" moment with Psych's support and insight. Hope you are getting some support for this?

I will go for 4 today- OH finally told me today that he owed £7k of debt . I will buy his car off of him in order to resolve this (it is worth more ).I had not planned on doing so and I am  that he has done this yet again.

    1. The low quote for my buildings and contents insurance had "expired". Hunted around and found another company offering a similar quote. Renewed and saved £100 .

    2. Dog sitting today - luckily as Mum was very delayed as her bus was stuck for 3 hours somewhere .Dog loves it here and I love her being here.

    3. Mushroom stroganoff with made with yoghurt instead of cream it was very tasty.

    4. Received funny messages from my neices on f/book .

Hugs to all who need them xx

They are new jelly based sweeties... which was particularly nice since I don't eat chocolate. but the silly boy was blowing cold again so I am back to studiously avoiding him :( or maybe its the other way around :(

Chickenopolis - thanks - yes, have seen 2 psychologists (the first left, nothing to do with me, as far as I know! Actually, the 2nd left too...) Have to try and remember that I used to be like I was the other night EVERY DAY.... and was on sedatives for 3 years :-S Now the thing is how to explain it to MrB. Say I get a bit stressed now and again (that much was obvious) or give him a bit more detail. Hmm....

5 or so for today (Thursday).

What a very lazy day! A day spent doing completely what we wanted (apart from school for smaller people).

    1) Went into town and did all the charity shops - 11! Got 2 jumpers and a top. Couldn't get any trousers so had to admit defeat and use M and S for those.

    2) Had lunch in the cafe where we used to skive when it was assembly at Sixth Form College.

    3) Got a couple of trays of pansies and have just planted them.

    4) Got the boys new school shoes and was given a 20% off voucher so I now have some winter boots.

    5) Went to the park with the scooters.

    6) Had fish and chips where the canal joins the Severn.
  • Frith- You should feel very proud of yourself x

Quickish, before bed - I am ready.

    1. Have just finished another bowl of porridge - it's what I really want[scant pint water+2/3tbs Value Oats<MrT. 4 mins in m/w+tsp honey] Eating an apple to close and want nothing other.
2.Worked all day but so much off-balance, yuck and gore from head/nose just keeps replenishing and making me feel very weird. Anyway, trailer roughly sorted. Assailed far-flung end of Shed 1 with moderate lug'n'heave gusto. So much, so much stuff a.k.a. stock. Bruised and knocked self about like gkw, but can hopefully have car+trailer okay-ish by this time tomorrow.
    3. Car jump-started by kind bro. of lovely neighbour. Gave him the sea fishing tackle I souvenired from Dunkerque beach walks, as it turns out he goes there, exactly where I spent my time down on beach. Several pêcheurs I got talking to on my end of day walks said I'd picked up expensive bits: B said same, so def. worthwhile.
    4. Well Frith, I deigned to add the mewing of 2 !perviers here to my list, when you had written of your falcons. But it's true - yesterday morning and again today. I don't generally hear them here, but down in France we'd watch them late afternoonish, high up, so, so high, catching thermals and that piercing kittenish mew seems impossible to relate to them. What they're doing here atm I've no idea.
    5. A jigsaw piece of intricately sculpted decorative glass, for a très kitsch mirror surround[whole thing is shaped as a 5-petalled flower] suddenly showed itself in car boot - I had assumed it missing. It's back in place and looks terrific.
    6. Realise I've also finished the usual post-long absence washing - pillows, woollens, car bedding etc. Heard a weather change forecast, but hope it stays dry demain. That's what kept me going today.

    Nye-nyes to all.
