Evening all!!
Looooong day today, just got back from work, but did manage to get some important amd tedious stuff done, so I am happy!!
let's see if I can get to 5...
1. Le chat has gone off to his new home and has settled well. I am so pleased as he is such a sweetie and the person who has him is a friend, so I can keep up on his progress. Nice end to the story
2. As above, got lots done and work and after feeling a bit alone with something, got helped out by some lovely people
3. And I was able to help someone else out
4. Dinner is being cooked for me and it's almost ready- yay!!
5. OH is out tonight, so I get the TV remote and I can watch whatever I like...double yay!!
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
Not a huge amount of OS Pleasures but here goes.
1. Sorting out the garage and rearranging the kitchen cupboards and store cupboards for extra winter supplies to be brought in.
2. Recommending a really good butcher to an elderly neighbour and they are going to deliver her order for free as well.
3. Made a lovey and satisfying meal tonight which costs the grand total of £2.00 for the both of us.
4. Watching DH making progress with the fascia boards painting them and knowing we have saved £3,750.00 from not now having to have them replaced.
5. Sitting here reading through the many varied OS posts with a nice cup of tea.
6. Loaded up the washing machine for switching on tomorrow morning and drying it out on the line for free.
7. Making the weekly food shopping list and realising we don't actually need that much :jCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Hiya
mine for today
1. Kitchen and bathroom cleaned before going on school run.
2. Popped into town to pay kids cheques in and got windscreen protectors to put behind radiators to reflect heat back into room from poundland, a really thick pair of gardening gloves for just over £1, an icecream scoop and salad tongs for 1p each from wilkies.
3. Went shopping and got everything on my list and used vouchers and got a few whoopsies.
4. Spent some quality time with ds2 making a crane whilst ds1 and dd at after school club.
5. An evening of crochet snuggled under my blanket as its a bit a bit chilly.0 -
Hi there,
Greetings from bonny Scotland. I am up here for a training course... which isn't very exciting... but I do get some good food!
So a few pleasures for the past few days:
1) Lovely dinner on Sunday night with two dear friends in Edinburgh (home cooked and certainly delicious!)
2) Some lovely wine with dinner on Sunday night and last night (prior to the course starting today)
3) Some quiet time this evening when I got to watch the Big Bang Theory on TV... I love that show
4) Finished Catch 22 and returned it to the library. I thought I had a fine on it but for some reason they didn't charge me... I'm not going to complain!
5) Made a big batch of lemon curd and very sadly didn't quite have enough jars to put it in so thoroughly enjoyed eating the left overs on their own!
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening everyone!
Ladyhawk - I wondered where you had disappeared to !
sparrer -:rotfl:re the mouldy toast. In this house it would also end up in the hens or OH .
millie- glad to hear "le chat" has a nice new home. BTW hope you don't mind , but I am going to pinch one of your pleasures.
5 for today
1. £117 cheque received from previous utility company .
2. My friend and work colleague came over on the off chance with her OH . She owns two of our nine hens but does not have the space for them so they live with us.
3. I gave my friend 20 eggs , photos of her hens taken by my brother and "the take away secret" book . I thought that I had missed her birthday , but had not ,so I gave it to her anyway.
4. Roast for tea - on a Tuesday !

5. Just got a great email from an old friend
6. Had my last physio session, and will hopefully be written up for more as and when I have the op (free physio y'see, so very handy to keep on the list)
7. Have been invited out for dinner with a lovely friend on Thursday night, and her husband has even offered to babysit!!
8. Great Rainbows session, felt energised by it, love the girls
9. Going to do a bit of work and enjoy Holby City in a mo.
10. DD hoovered the lounge for me, makes the room feel much nicer!
11. Local theatre listings came out and I'm having a nice evening planning DD and my trips, and possibly a few nights with OH (although I guess I should wait til I know when I'm going to be off my pins before buying tickets hmmm.....). Anyway, nice to dream and plan and work out the budget for these fun things!0 -
Evening all.
ampersand - I really hope you start feeling better right now, if not sooner.
savingqueen - I'm starting my new Open University course next month - it's the first one I've done in some time, so I share your nervousness! Good luck with your course.
1) I got to leave a work event an hour earlier than expected as there were hardly any customers, and that was my last session as I'm not scheduled to do the next two days. :j
2) A slice of very tasty HM spinach and feta pie for lunch, which partly made up for my disastrous attempt to make oat bread - it's not often I make something that proves totally inedible, but this is definitely one of those occasions.
3) Rescued the mog from the 'orrible, bullying black and white cat from next door - not that I got any thanks, of course!
4) Treated myself to a jacket potato for dinner - a treat because it wasn't on my mealplan rather than on grounds of cost, potatoes being a fairly cheap thing to eat.
#5 is eluding me again, but four's not bad. Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Pinch away!! mind you, it backfired a bit as he is recording 2 programmes at once, so I can't watch a third apparently. Hmmmph.

5 or so for today.
1) My neighbours sent facebook friend requests (no, that THAT neighbour)! I feel like I barely know them so that was nice.
2) Went to see my friend in Walsall.
3) Sons congratulated me on the school lunches I made them (!)
4) After Walsall, survived driving down the M5/M6 (hate motorways) and through a monsoon too.
5) Popped in to see another friend when I came off the motorway.
6) Painted another section of stairs/landing.
7) Finished Harry Potter book 2 with the boys.
8) Text from MrB and hoping to catch him online later.
9) Talking of online, bigger son's FB friend tried to send him a video message and I can't tell you how excited we 3 were when his face suddenly loomed into view on the screen! We don't have a webcam and have never used Skype etc - you'd have thought we were talking to someone on the moon, we were enthralled! He (the friend) is as theatrical as my son so was showing us magic tricks and playing his guitar so we could watch. :-D0
