A day being busy doing nothing. Two in a row, the house will think I've forgotten it
1. Sitting in the garden in amazing sunshine having my morning tea
2. Neighbour came into her garden to tell me her new (to her) bike passed its MoT
3. Neighbour, her DD and I decided to go window shopping, which always seems to cost money. Where are we going wrong I wonder? No answers necessary, thank you
4. Went to a carvery for lunch £3.69p each, super value and certainly didn't need any tea today
5. Most of my little tomatoes have suddenly turned red. Thank you sunshine
Hope everyone had a lovely sunny day. Night night

Been up since 5am, it's Saturday morning here, the birds are singing their dawn chorus:
Friday's Pleasures:
1.Erm....it was Friday already.....3 weeks till we come home!
2.Very quiet day at work .
3.The most glorious spring day! Warm enough for me.....if it was like this all year I'd be happy!
4.I had an empty house for a whole hour! Kids were all out & about & it was nice!
5.Hubbie home earlier than usual, early tea ,TV & then zonked!0 -
Good evening all,
Ladyhawk-You are not paid to dream about work!!( I tell myself this all the time) It's not a "school night" tonight so lets hope you dream about that beach villa, driving your new car with the top down and...... courgette cake:rotfl:
6 for today
1. Spending time with my neice and nephew on the last week day left of their holidays.
2. Collecting their new school blazers in town with my neice- £55  as they are a strange blue colour that only this particular shop supplies.
3. Had a phsyio session - lots of exercises given... pain killer now taken. Hence my dodgy spelling. Apparently I will be "bendy Wendy" in a fortnight.
4. Took my neice to the orthodontist as she needed to have her braces "re wired" . I went in with her as she has a tendency to forget vital snippets of information ,she was fine with this arrangement.
5. Not OS but take away for tea .
6. My brother thanked me for looking after his children as he has just returned from the hospital in Lincoln where is MIL had just had an operation to clip off an aneurism. I told my brother that he would do the same for me if the situation was reversed .
Have a good evening all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all
Mine for today
1. Made strawberry yogurt in slow cooker
2. Fake away night. Home made pizza and half a film as football then on!
3. Cleaned kitchen until it sparkled
4. Wales won the footboall :T
5. Finished ds1's crochet minion. :j0 -
5 or so for today (Friday).
1) Got some odd jobs done now the major post-building clean up is finished - cleaned the piano and the inside of the fridge!
2) Went to Sainsburys so have something sensible to eat now.
3) Boys VERY difficult today (well, bigger son was which makes life difficult for smaller son who then gets grumpy too). It was about 4pm before bigger son actually told me what had been worrying him and settled down. The pleasure was that we got it sorted in the end.
4) Made a date and walnut cake.
5) MrB came round to meet the boys. And it all went really well! We took them to the forest on their scooters and that kept them happy for 1.5 hours and they were polite and sensible and it was all lovely.:j
6) A good hour or so talking to MrB after a quick bedtime and Harry Potter chapter for the boys. We're off to his house to meet his sons on Sunday.0 -
Morning everyone,
I work up at "work time" this morning... grrr... and then remembered that I hadn't posted yesterday.
Sparrer - I am sure the house will forgive you for having a little time off. And lucky you that your tomatoes have turned... mine are still green
1) Early start yesterday (was at my desk at 7.30am) and had a yummy blueberry muffin for breakfast
2) A colleague/friend needed a life at lunch time and it really was a pleasure to help out. Plus we got to drive about town with the top down.
3) More samples at work (free range eggs, a big wheel of brie and some cheddar)
4) Got my hair cut and coloured (20% off) - it was in desperate need of both.
5) Asleep by 10pm!
Have a great day - I have a busy one: Burghley Horse Trials this afternoon, then wine tasting and dinner with a good friend.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Posting late again, but not for alcohol-related reaons this time (polishing my halo!!):
1. The sunshine
2. Went up for a mooch around the village shops with a friend, bumping into friends and acquaintances along the way, then went to the pub for a drink. Lovely and I managed to only spend on my presciption charges (halo polishing again!)
3. Took back a piece of clothing to Te$co's - unfortunately I didn't have the receipt, so was only able to exchange it for non-food items (grrr, strange policy as I had been hoping to buy the week's fruit and veg with it.....), anyway managed to find some things I did really need, and also bought a few foodie bits, but have just realised I don't have enough food........grrr.......
4. Went to a friend's for dinner and she made a gorgeous meal for me
5. She also gave me an amazing belated birthday present of a framed photo of poppies - she's a great photographer, has started exhibiting and selling, and this is so lovely as she knows that poppies are my favourite flower. Also, it's print 1 of 50, how honoured am I?!?!
6. Have been invited out to dinner with friends at a cheapy restaurant tonight, not sure if I will go as the cheapest restaurant is my kitchen after all....
7. Some of OH's texts that I read to myself whilst at my friend's house apparently made me blush as pink as the top I was wearing!!!His last day of holiday yesterday, he flies back today and sees me tomorrow - counting the minutes now!!!
0 -
1...Being up before anyone else, having breakfast of porridge and coffee whilst watching the birds fly about the hills and just relishing the peace and quiet.
2...Every morning my OH gets up the first thing he does is give me a huge big hug.
3...My old dog, always so happy to see me, wags her entire behind as I let her out to do her business and she picks up the trails of rabbits all across the lawn.
4...The gales from last night have died down...it's still overcast but still and quiet.
5...I'm knitting mittens with wool that was a present from a lovely lady. They're a soft mossy green and will be fabulously warm this winter."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0 -
1. Lawn cut this morning - garden looking wonderfully out of control in an organised way...
2. I've had dozens of wasps in my house every day this week. All doors and windows are now open and they seem to be leaving (well, apart from the scores of corpses on the windowsills)
3. Friend coming for lunch (hence cutting the lawn so early) - picked up a range of yellow stickered goodies last night so a cheap feast is planned!
4. Spiced apple and rhubarb cider is chilling in the fridge - looking forward to sampling it this afternoon.
5. I love my cat - even if she does keep bringing mice into the house and letting them go (and maybe having live mice in the house is better than a recent discovery of a mouse's face - no skull or body, just the face - next to my settee. I still feel sick just thinking of it!).
Have a great weekend.0 -
hello, 7.45pm here and it's been the most lovely day. Watched a beautiful sunrise & it was 21o but very breezy.
1.5am wake up (grrr) however, enjoyed a call with my friend who I usually call on Sat evening, it was her Friday evening.
2.We all went for Saturday scones!
3.Coming under budget for shopping & getting a bargainous, cram as much as you can bag of fruit & veg for $3.00 , I managed to squeeze broccoli, potatoes, green beans, 2 peppers, a wee turnip, celery, 2 apples & 2 small lemons in.
4.Home via Op shop where I donated a huge bag of clothes cleared out last weekend & came out with a lovely skirt for $1.99 & 2 very nice candles for $3.99 each. They have a very delicate scent of honeysuckle.
5. Was most industrious & cleaned the fridge ,some kitchen cupboards & all the drawers. Got loads of washing done , beds stripped & sheets & duvet covers dried in half an hour! All ironing done. Then sorted through what we are bringing home with us. Have bought all Christmas presents, some birthday gifts for next year. Lots of things for new baby (lot of pink !).
Think that's me for today! It has been nice just pottering around!0
