    Evening all,

Just noticed that Facebook has started mucking about with its layout again... GRRRRR!!!!

    1) NSD - I have been so good since I bought the car. Very little shopping and taking my own lunches to work. :A

    2) Fabulous haul of samples at work - catering packs of dried apricots, raisins, prunes and mixed fruit. SCORE! I don't like prunes so I am not sure what I am going to do with those.

    3) Popped round to a lovely freecycler and picked some more apples. Unfortunately picking them hurt my dodgy shoulder :( I really should go back to the doctor as it has been bothering me for 10 months.

    4) Paid some money into my bank account. Pity it is going to be exiting my account fairly shortly as it is charity money that I need to send a cheque off for. It did mean that I got a little walk at lunch time.

    5) Sent an email to my Godmother who haven't seen in about 10 years to try to arrange to see her when I go home for my brothers wedding.

    Nighty night everyone.

    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Chickenopolis - my friend was very happy with the goodies, a bit overwhelmed but hopefully it'll help her with time and meal planning for a little while. I think life is overwhelming her a little at the moment.......

    1. Day started a bit annoyingly but thankfully got better!

    2. Saucy texts from OH ;)

    3. Big tree in the garden has been thinned out and it looks fantastic, wish I'd had it done in spring rather than as summer is ending as apart from the fact the rest of the garden is a wee bit of a dump, I now want to go and live out there!!....

    4. Have been invited to a lovely girly chum's for dinner on Friday night :)

    5. Lovely chats with DD on the phone, missing my little cherub

    6. Good cheap veggies at Lidl's

    7. Had a fabulously hearty beany, veggie stew from the slow cooker for dinner, nomnom! and more for lunch tomorrow :)

    8. Booked a few more days off, this time over half term, but something nice to look forward to, more fun days with DD :)
  • Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that Colne R&B Festival is worth a visit (next year) - £5.50 each for hours of entertainment. We'd never been before but even as someone who went because DH likes that kind of thing, it was really enjoyable.

    1) Boxes of goodies from a friend for DD going to Uni, including bedding, kettle etc.
    2) We are burning logs from our trees. They will run out but it's fun while it lasts.
    3) Managed to hoover under the sofa today. Can't remember how long it's been. I feel better now.
    4) Our veg for tea - home grown potato wedges, runner beans, cabbage made into a coleslaw and unexpected broccoli. (Didn't know I'd planted it).
    5) The library book I'd requested has come.

    2. Postie brought my bargain roll of bubble wrap for the windows
    3. Found the perfect present for DB and DSiL's ruby anniversary, it's a personalised gift but don't have to pay for it til it's ready :)
    4. Nets in the wash, windows and frames all cleaned
    5. Made a chicken/lentil casserole from a left-over carcass

    Night night, sleep well

    hello!

1.woken by my alarm this morning! This makes a most pleasant change from waking up at a ungodly hour & lying awake!

    2.good day at work.

3.filled up car with petrol. I usually don't let it go below half tank however petrol has been expensive for past 10 days, so had came down enough for me to fill up! Was at a 1/4 tank. The prices jump so much here & today dropped over 14c (10p) a litre from what it was yesterday. Prices often change more than once a day!

4.Got reduced flowers at supermarket.....managed to get a decent bunch, you should have seen the state of some that were reduced!

    5. Very yummy dinner. Steak (RTC) pie, roast potato (RTC) roast parsnips (RTC) and carrot & turnip (RTC) mash. Very yummy & very cheap!

6.money saving phonecall! My sister is visiting my mum so got to speak to both of them for the price of one call!

7.This is the last day of winter .....officially! Tomorrow is the start of Spring.

    Have a great day!

eta: just received photos of niece's baby bump from my sister!

    Hiya. :D

Another five for the last couple of days:

    1. Helping a friend with his shop removals. I didn't do that much but DS2 has done masses - our friend wouldn't have managed without him - and DS1 mucked in when the going got tough as well. Lovely watching my sons being kind and generous with their time and energy.

    2. Having a long phone call with a friend yesterday.

    3. Making a good breakthrough on the work front.

    4. Getting the car taxed for another year just in time and without any queues in the Post Office. Best bit was that I could find all the documents I needed without any problem. My filing must have improved :D.

    5. Getting some vouchers through which I'll be able to use for freebie entrance to some local visitor 'attractions'.

    Evening all.

    1) The leaky outlet pipe at my flat finally got fixed, after asking the letting agency at least a dozen times. (And I scared the life out of the poor plumber, who walked in to find a mouse in the middle of the living room floor - he realised once he'd peeled himself off the ceiling that it was the cat's toy one! :rotfl:)

    2) Several HG tomatoes are starting to change colour. :j

    3) And I found two weeny chillies on one of my plants. :j

    4) No more work this week as I've got a couple of days off. :D

    5) [STRIKE]Erm... I'm struggling to think of a fifth - hopefully something will occur to me later.[/STRIKE] Picked a small handful of HG French beans for dinner. :)

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Didn't need to put the light on in the kitchen this morning as the cutting back of the tree yesterday (about 60-70 foot away) has brightened my world :):)

    2. YS bargains in the shop

    3. A lovely friend is back from her holiday today, can't wait to have a good catch up with her

    4. Another day closer to OH coming back from holiday :):):)

    5. Good day at work

    6. Payday, which is great but also scary as with various things I need to pay for, I have £79 for the month for food, petrol and emergencies before having to dip into next month's salary. Ho hum....

    7. Called an engineer to make an appointment to look at my washing machine, set it for Friday, then the machine has somehow fixed itself! So, hopefully I can call to cancel tomorrow morning, for another week or so....

    Evening all.

I'm so tired :( Long and very busy day during which I managed to really annoy one of our marketing directors... but I was annoyed that he was half an hour late for a meeting with me. He is always late and it really annoys me. In fact he annoys me.

    1) Being offered a ticket to Burghley Horse Trials at the weekend with full hospitality... woohoo!!!!

    2) NSD

    3) Payday... at last!

    4) Realising that my lovely eldest brother (he who is getting married in Nov and who helped me buy my car) is paying for me to stay in their villa on the beach for the week of the wedding! I though I was only spending one night there and was paying for it myself! my brother is awesome!

    5) Biscuit samples in the office

Night night... I'll be snoozing early tonight!
