    Blimey, it's Wednesday already!

    5 or so for today...

    1) Waking up at MrB's. :-)

    2) Popping into the big charity shop (that does furniture) and getting an old cabinet, the sort that used to have a radiogram in. I brought it back for my TV to go on and it is just big enough for the Wii stuff and our DVD and has space for the Wii fit board underneath! I'm really pleased with it.

    3) Nipped in to see my dad briefly.

    4) Had a good tidy up, hoover etc as this is the last child free day I'll get for a long time.

    5) Some lovely texts from MrB.

    6) Sons came back home!!

    7) Took them to the forest so they could show me their new scooters.

One of those days when nothing momentous happens but just feeling very contented with life :)

    1. Got the nets ironed and re-hung
    2. Raspberries really coming in fast now, the ice-cream tub is almost full
    3. The work put in on the garden is paying off, it's in full bloom and looking at its best :)
    4. Had neighbour and her DD in for a cuppa this afternoon, always feel very relaxed with her and find ourselves laughing at silly things
    5. Managed 13 nsd's in August :)

    Night night, sweet dreams

  • Morning everyone :D. My five for yesterday were

    1. Getting up nice and early and enjoying a coffee before everyone else got up.
    2. Picking blackberries whilst taking the dog for a walk.
    3. Making two apple and blackberry crumbles. One for pudding last night and one for the freezer.
    4. DS came home for tea, he usually eats at his GF's. I like it when he comes home for tea :j.
    5. Getting washing dry on the airer.

Hugs to all that need them. Ladyhawk, your brother sounds great :D.

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday;
    1. Started clearing some of the junk in my bedroom. Filled a couple of bags with clothes to go to charity shop and took a bag of books into work
    2. Made Chirizio and Borlotti Bean Soup and a loaf of fresh HM bread. Took both into work to share with friends. Everyone really enjoyed it and it probably cost me less than £1.50 for both.
    3. Free cakes at work as was someones birthday and someone is retiring
    4. Decorated the desk of the person that sits opposite me as he is retiring today. He can be a pain most of the time but seeing how touched he was by our efforts made it wothwhile.
    5. Evening to myself to just chill and watch what I wanted on TV and to read some of my book. The TV watching didn't involve wathing Golf can't think why

Hugs to all who need them

    5.macaroni for tea for girls & I & kangaroo & couscous for boys!....bleurgh!

Have a nice day whatever you're up to!
  • A late entry due to powercut which lasted for 12 hours..... just like the '70's

Carolyntia- thank you for your hugs

Ladyhawk- your FSIL sure is one lucky lady;)

    5 for yesterday

    1. My sister and her partner came down from Middlesex for the day. My sister is and always has been a magpie and brought a drawer (from a chest of drawers) full of boxes of rings , at least 60 that she had purchased from ebay. she sold a few to my SIL , other sister and Mum and I got one for £10 . I think she will probably make a loss as she has spent thousands on the rings . We are soooo different with regards to money.

    2. My neice has grown Sparrer- she is now 6ft 1ins at 14 - whilst her cousin (son of the above) is now 6ft 6ins at 16 . LOL at your past comments re your "giant" family. Moody giant stayed at home in Middlesex whilst my neice came over and she is a real pleasure to be around not a "terrible teen" at all:)

3.A magazine subscription renewal came and it had a buy one get one free offer . I get this for one of my neices and being as her Mum ( the ring bearer!!) was at my house she said that she would like this for Christmas this year. My SIL will also get the "free one" for Christmas - thats two presents sorted.

    4. Made a moussaka for the first time in the slow cooker- I don't like lamb so I did not sample it , but OH and Mum said it was nice.

    5. The power cut whilst not a pleasure lasted for 12 hours from 6.50 pm -6.50 am. The guys were working outside all night digging up the pavement and I am grateful that nothing in the freezer was ruined as I had just filled it with rtc chicken a few days ago.:) Also finding my wind up torch and radio whilst it was still light enough to do so.
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Hiya. :D Five since yesterday:

    1. The sun is shining here. :) DS1's bed sheets are about to be put on the line.

    2. Catching up on the latest of the feelgood thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3434643 Martin's own act of kindness made me smile.

    3. I now have the free use of a garage in the nearest big town centre for the next few months which means that I can now pencil in long days working at the library without having to pay parking costs.:T

    4. Getting to have a good long chat with DS1 in the car last night about his next big piece of academic work. He was sharing all his ideas for it.

    5. DS2, the star, did a big catch up on getting the kitchen sorted. It had been his job a few nights ago, he'd left it and everything had piled up and got completely out of hand but he's dealt with everything and we are back on track.

    Have a lovely Thursday,

    Evening all.

    Mine for today:

    1) A bit of a lie-in this morning as I've got a couple of days off work. :)

    2) Took a load of stuff to the tip - not exactly an exciting way to spend a day off but at least I've got a bit more storage space now my old breadmaker's gone to the big bakery in the sky.

    3) Got my hair cut using a 50% off voucher a colleague gave me weeks ago. :money: (I thought the 50% off referred to the price but it could equally well be my hair - I think the hairdresser got a bit carried away and, although I'm really pleased with it, it's considerably shorter than I'd intended!)

    4) Arranged to meet up with my DM, my DSis and DSis' 'MiL' (she's not actually married to her partner, but you know what I mean) on Saturday - it was my sister's idea but, needless to say, I've ended up making most of the arrangements! ;)

    5) Pub quiz tonight - one I enjoy but don't often go to as it's a fair distance away and I get home too late to go to work the next day.

Have a very pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
