Good evening all,
I am going to post earlier than usual tonight in case the power goes down again. It seems that it was a street lamp and has been temporarily fixed.
CCP- enjoy your days off
Frith- meant to say this earlier..... don't forget your toothbrush;)
Tealady-it sounds like you are now an artisan baker:)
Broomstick-what a nice thread -thank you x
5 for today
1. Power switched back on- was not looking forward to going to a family members house to have a bath , dry my hair etc.
2. My neice and nephew are staying , I love them dearly. However the circumstances are not so good as their Nan (SIL's Mum) has been rushed to hospital and it doesn't look good...I am prepared for providing emotional and practical support for as long as necessary, whatever the outcome .My brother and SIL have travelled up to visit / stay as long as they need to.
3. My Mum bringing down an old jewellery box full of all of our milk teeth much to the amusement of my neice and nephew. I have two sisters and a brother , so that is a lot of teeth. The weird thing is I could recognise which were mine...:rotfl:
4.Nasi Goreng for tea and I managed to salvage a cracked but otherwise ok egg from the hen coop which I used in it.
5. A peaceful evening as OH has gone out so I am looking forward to reading my book ( with a torch if necessary) in my freshly laundered sheets.
Have a good evening everyone x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Hi Everyone,
I am tired again tonight - I only left the office at 8.30pm! After a 6 hour conference call!!!!! ARGH!!!!!
1) NSD
2) Instant messaging a nice colleage to bring me a cup of tea during the call... andshe brought it and a couple of biscuits... what a love!
3) Beautiful sunny day (had the top down on the car when I drove to a meeting this morning)
4) Funny dream last night (been having a few odd ones) about breaking into the office and then getting stuck in there over a weekend
5) Did my washing up before going to work so feel virtuous.
6) Finally got notification that my quidco payment is on its way... only 7 months after I bought the product
7) Sold an old sewing machine on the e auction site... less clutter in the flat... yay!
Night night zzzzzzzz
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
5 or so for today.
Boys very tetchy so I've tried to keep them on the move!
1) Scootering on village hall car park.
2) Walking in the forest and seeing loads of dragonflies over the pond and finding the case (?) of a dragonfly nymph.
3) Fish and chips by the Clee Hills.
4) Swimming with sons and my brother. Brother had forgotten his prescription goggles so kept getting lost :-D
5) Back into the forest for more scootering then chatted to my sister as she had gone for a walk with her friend!
6) Watching Dr Who on iplayer just now.
7) 2 glasses of MrB's sloe gin. I stopped drinking (99%) in 1997. So I'll be re-reading this for spelling mistakes then going to bed and listening to the radio on iplayer. :-S0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today;
1. More washing line dried today
2. Free lunch and champagne at work as someone was leaving:beer:
3. Friend J brought me in a bag full of goodies from her friends garden - huge onion, courgettes, cucumber, small marrow and some horseradish. Think I am most excited about the horseradish, had some last year and it certainly has a kick to it.
4. Easy dinner of last nights leftovers
5. Huge bottle of red wine off another friend at work brought back from their holidays
6. Nice walk home from work in the sunshine
7. Earning another £3 in luncheon vouchers for doing a survey:money:
hugs to all who need them0 -
1. Picked a freind up from the garage where her car was being serviced/MoT'd. She'd bought a box of cream cakes which she insisted has to be eaten, so we had 2 each .
2. Sat in the garden in beautiful sunshine, chatting all morning. Lovely to have a day when I don't do anything at all in the house, and can just relax in good company
3. Phone call from a chain store to tell me my order of very cheap fleece blankets is in. Going to be nice and warm this Winter
4. Picked my first ever ripe tomato! And took a photograph of it
5. Beautiful fresh chookie eggs with toastie soldiers for lunch before the garage phoned and we had to go back
and naughty 6. longgg siesta this afternoon
Night night, sleep tight

Morning all, I nearly posted my pleasures at about 2:30 this morning, but I was a wee bit tipsy so thankfully had the presence of mind to go to my bed instead! Here are yesterday's goodies that made my life sparkle
1. The sunshine, it was such a beautifully hot, if autumnal day
2. NSD
3. Another day closer to OH returning from holiday, I feel like a child waiting for Christmas now!!
4. Great day at work, I love my new working arrangements, yippee!!
5. Two lovely girly chums came over in the evening and we drank far too much wine whilst having a really good catch up and laugh - my poor neighbours, hope they didn't hear too much through the walls!!0 -
My five for today are
1. Getting all of the washing dry, a beautiful day.
2. Picking a bag full of runner beans off the allotment. Have the task of preparing them for the freezer.
3. A fellow allotment holder gave me half a dozen eggs that he had collected from his chickens :j.
4. Trying to knit egg warmers (little pom pom hats) with DD's this afternoon. It was a laugh if nothing else.
5. Enjoying pretty much a free tea. Sausages were given to me, eggs contributed to the batter for toad in the hole and all the veg were from the allotment.
Hope everyone has a good day
