Sunday...
1. Dozens of wasps in my spare bedroom this morning (no idea where they've come from). Left the window open all day and they seem to have gone.
2. Spent afternoon putting up three curtain poles in the kitchen (bought on Friday in Homebase 15% sale). I'm rubbish at DIY but they're level and secure!
3. Having erected poles I've now hung curtains bought on ebay. Really pleased - quote from a curtain shop was over £800 and I've got everything sorted for a bit over £100 - totally MSE and it looks good!
4. I'm a gardener - hooray for the rain!
5. Now a bottle of wine beckons....
Hope you're having a great Bank Holiday.0 -
Hiya
Mine for today
1. has to be ds1 spending day in newcastle at training ground then watching the match. And scoring a penalty in half time in front of 42,000 fans. and loving it!!!
2. Getting the toilet roll offer in lidl! Sold out yesterday so am well chuffed i got some today. :rotfl:
3. Going to soft play as because hubby arrived with ds1 20 mins after us, they reset the time as we used the same name so got an extra 20 mins free.
4. The staff in the pub being so nice when ds2 projectile vomited over their floor! They were lovely and kept asking how he was afterwards although we did leave pretty quick!
5. Having a chinese that BIL seems to think is quite cheap and its the best our of all the takeaways we have had in town.0 -
Good evening all
Ladyhawk- Re the fish pie.Maybe the liquid is coming out of the fish, especially if it had been frozen previously?
5 for today
1. Went out in the coutryside with OH to pick mushrooms and blackberries. OH went off on his own to look for mushroms and came back empty handed. We managed to pick a few pounds in weight of blackberries. I have frozen these as my uncle makes blackberry vodka with them and we will get a few crumbles out of them.
2. Having some "me " time whilst OH went off to find mushrooms. The sun was beating down on me, there was not a soul around in the depths of the countryside.Bliss.
3.Roast beef , yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes ,veg and leeks in cheese sauce for tea. We had all the ingredients and whilst making the cheese sauce from scratch and making the gravy is time consuming I find this relaxing.
4. OH popped to Mr. T's and got a load of yellow sticker chicken breasts which are now in the freezer and will last us for ages.
5.Managing to still be awake despite not sleeping until around 2 am . I think I had CCP's neighbours playing loud music in the garden that backs on to mine:rotfl:
good night all:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Ladyhawk I'm relieved to hear moglet is still in one piece - mind you my boy is a typical juvenile delinquent to the point of me threatening him I'll offer him to you to use for practice!
keith could the wasps be house wasps? They eat through the pointing outside and make their nest in the wall cavity. Apparently they're the only non aggressive wasps but I wouldn't go near them to find out!
(((Frith))) thinking of you, and your dog
Tealady sausage sandwiches with fresh hm bread, double yum!
1. Took a top back to Mr A and found a parking space! Amazing how many people think just because there's a free disabled space they can park there
2. Exchanged the top for one more subtle, don't know what I was thinking when I chose lipstick pink. Luckily the one I picked up had a 15% off sticker, so a good exchange
3. Bought flour and yeast in my local shop in prep for the big freeze, the flour was bogof so got 2 x 2lb bags for £2
4. The autumn rasperries are really beginning to ripen now, picked several this evening with lots more to come. With the blackberries already collected I'm thinking Summer fruits pavlova sounds good. The tomatoes are also beginning to turn at last, there are at least 4 orangy-looking ones today
5. Joanna Lumleys Nile, I think the best (only?) programme worth watching on a Sunday evening
Night night, sleep tight

Maybe I'm only meant to post every few days...
My pleasures since Friday lunchtime:
1. Having an M&S meal deal padded out to feed three on Friday night - never had one before so it was a treat and the two bottles of non-alcoholic fizzy grape juice instead of the wine option were lovely and lasted the weekend.
2. Spending much of the weekend either ferrying a group of 17-19 yr olds around to do environmental surveying or sitting in the car for hours waiting to ferry them around: lovely bunch of people and good fun. I enjoyed spending time with them and meeting some of their parents as well. And the surveyors managed to find some rare stuff too - positive identification will happen tomorrow, everyone's keeping their fingers crossed.
3. Enjoying the hours of sitting in the car time on my own. I'd planned for it and had a thermos and hot drinks. We were out in countryside and the rain held off most of the time so it was sunny and blowy and I opened the car windows to let the breeze in and got on with absolutely masses of work in sunny peace and quiet.
4. I got the windscreen on the car replaced (for free) on Friday afternoon and the car passed its MoT very early on Saturday morning without a problem.
5. The DSs seem to have gone to bed really early tonight so I'm going to do the same. That's unheard of in our house!
Sweet dreams

1.slept until just before my alarm went off.
2.Good day at work! Steady pace rather than mental! No ducks chasing me back to car today!
3.Lovely drive home.Sun was shining which wasn't forecast, gardens are full of flowers.
4.Had 20 minutes total peace & quiet before kids came in....sat & read my book.
5.I didn't make tea, DD1 heated up bol sauce & made the spaghetti to go with it. I had picked up lamb mince by mistake ( not a lamb fan) so spag bol not as nice as usual for my taste.
6. Heading for a bath with my book!
Have a good day x0 -
Evening all.
I may be a little short of pleasures today after a rather irritating day: I went to collect my paint and rapidly discovered that the directions on the website were pretty useless and I got lost.I eventually phoned the store for help and the girl on customer services didn't know the way from the nearest town either - she had to ask three different people before she found anyone who could give me directions!
However, pleasures:
1) I got there in the end and got my special offer paint.
2) Did a 5p Reverbe on my way into the store.
3) Due to the confusion I got home very late for lunch - just as the local supermarket were yellow sticky-ing the ready made sandwiches, in fact.
4) Made some bolognese sauce for stuffed marrow for tonight's dinner.
5) And there's plenty left to freeze for three or four more meals. (I could have bulked it out to make more, of course, but I'm a little short on freezer space at the moment so I didn't want too much.
Hooray - I made five after all.Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all
5 for today
1. Not a pleasure. I went to the chapel of remembrance today and took some roses as it 6 years today since my Dad passed away. The positive spin on this was that I went with my Mum and one of my sisters and we make sure that we do this together each year as on the bank holiday we are generally all together on this day.
2. Giving away 20 eggs.
3. Went for a drive along the seafront- the sea was like a mill pond.
4. Visited Mr. T and got some bargains
5. OH came in with a carrier bag full of stir fry sauces that are 3 for £1 at Mr. A. We had one for tea with prawns and courgettes and mushrooms from the garden.
Now this day is almost over I will be less "spikey"
Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday:):AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

2. Got the half price BOGOF surf in Mr T. Stocked up at that price! :money:
3. Kids played in garden and tent now blown away in all the wind and rain!!
4. Peace and quiet after family left! I need a bigger house when entertaining! :rotfl:
5. a glass of wine before early night. Got a busy day tomorrow, not cleaned for 2 days!! :rotfl:0 -

Sorry to hear you have had a sad day. It's really strange as a friend I was quite close with at school is remembering her mum today who passed away 18 years ago today. And other person she knows is celebrating the life of her dad who passed away 10 years ago today. Anyway *hugs* to you.
1) Made strawberry jam today (7 pots!)
2) Am in the process of making some green tomato chutney. I have never had much success with GTC but am trying a new recipe.
3) Recieved a large bag of apples from a freecycler and am going to make apple and mint jelly next weekend (or before if I have the inclination)
4) Chatted with my middle brother this evening. He is still being a bit of a sulky sue about my oldest brothers wedding but I think when he hands in his dissertation on Friday he will be a little less stressy.
5) Chatted to my mum... apparently my youngest brother has found a fabulous new job. He is exceptionally introverted so I am really pleased for him.
6) Making some HM yoghurt
7) Getting loads of washing done and mostly dried
8) Changing the bed sheets and duvet covers... looking forward to bed tonight!
9) Cleaned out the kitchen cupboard... I really need a bigger kitchen... I just have so much "stuff".
Nighty night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
