1. Boy you were up early! Hope it wasn't due to pain ??
I wasbut no, it wasn't my tummy, though that is still uncomfortable. It was my darling kit-cat who got a fright when he saw another cat in the garden at 4am.... Cue me not getting back to sleep until 6.30am.
My first pleasure for Saturday was dealing with the paperwork mountain which I have been avoiding for a number of months. Sensitive data is shredded and important papers are filed.
2) Phoned my energy supplier and got them to reduce my direct debits by £4 per month... every little helps and all that...
3) banana cake for breakfast
4) Wrote a list of things that I need to get done this weekend. That way I won't spend the entire weekend on my bottom
I am sure that I will have more than one pleasure to report this evening to complete my 5!
Have a great day!

Hiya
Mine for today
1. Laying in bed this morning listening to the rain before anyone woke up.
2. Sold an item on a popular auction site
3. Instead of hubby buying a new ps3 because his old one was full  i spoke to the shop assistant and he only needed to buy a hard drive. Phew!
4. Got 2 courgette growing kits for 15p each and 3 kids tomatoe plant kids and 3 kids sunflower plant kits for 10p each. Something for the kids to do next year.
5. Lots of cuddles with my 11 month old nephew.0 -
Evening all.
Ladyhawk - as our resident courgette cake expert (;)), can I ask if you think I could make a cake with marrow instead? The one I got in my veg box isn't really big enough to make jam, which is what I intended, but I've found a nice recipe for courgette and orange cake and was wondering if I could use the marrow for that instead, or if it would go all soggy because marrows are wetter than courgettes. I hope you and the kit-cat are both feeling better by now.
Flibsey - I just love that party dress - it's so pretty! Aren't you clever to make that? (I admit I'm someone whose sewing skills begin and end at sewing on a button.)
1) A very long lie-in this morning - I just couldn't wake up and ended up sleeping for best part of 12 hours.
2) Checking my tomato plants and noticing just how many tomatoes I've now got, in all shapes and sizes - all I need is a few days of sunshine for them to start ripening.
3) Made use of the B00ts multi-point offer, plus a voucher I had from doing surveys, to get some cheap face powder (I use one of their own brands so I like offers like that :money:).
4) Took a stack of books to a local charity shop.
5) Free dinner tonight, courtesy of M&S and another survey voucher. :money:
6) Received an email from my sister, which means she's starting to get over her latest bout of depression (contacting people is always fairly low down her list of priorities when she's ill, not surprisingly).
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
1) Paid the car tax refund into the bank
2) Got both pairs of autumn/winter boots reheeled and remembered to get some suede protector for another pair
3) My fleece lined trousers from Craghoppers arrived and they are fantastic - see winter prep thread for details if you want a pair
4) Got my nails done with the usual discounts
5) A truly lush dinner thanks the M&S meal deal - got the rest for dinner tomorrow night
6) Lots more lovely texts from MrB last night
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

my 5 today are
1) a really quiet day at work... (i work for a large mobile phone company in their collections department) was lovely.... spent a good hour slapping a colleage round the head with a 5 foot inflatable bananaand i havent had to cut anybody off for refusing to pay... ok so ive made one agent in our egypt customer service team cry and made a further 4 in various call centres swear at me sooo all in all a productive day there

im really easily pleased arent i???does my bum look big in this sig?0 -
CCP - yes you can definitely make courgette cake with marrows. If you are particularly worried about the moisture yu can give then a squeeze before adding them... but I wouldn't bother. If the recipe is a keeper, please would you share it?
Carrie - thanks... kitcat will be made into slippers if he wakes me again!!
So carrying on from my morning pleasures:
5) Cleaned and tidied the lounge and crossed off another 8 other things from my list
6) Took my book, Catch 22, back to the mobile library which is about 100m from my front door on Saturday afternoons. It was a day overdue but because it had been reserved by someone else I couldn't renew it online. Anyway I managed to talk them round to letting me keep it.
7) Made a lush dinner for myself... y/s rib eye steak, broad beans from the garden and y/s baby potatoes followed by the last of the banana cake for pudding
Have a lovely evening

Good evening all
Ladyhawk-hope you get some sleep tonight.
Flibsey- wow - how clever are you? True OS
5 for today
1.OH's cousin called to say that she had been awarded DLA backdated to May. She cannot walk now due to an old injury sustained from gymnastics as a kid. As I used to support/advise people about acessing benefits in another life and I advised her to apply. It's nice to get a "thank you" as she had no idea of how to go about this.
2.Made an apple cake with sunflower oil instead of butter ( which now costs nearly as much as gold !) with apples from Mum's garden. I have a list in my head of what turns out well for my "fantasy tea shop " which will be either in Cornwall , Devon ,Seil or most likely ,just in my headThe apple cake will not be on the menu.
3. OH brought a Chinese take away for tea . I am stuffed.
4. Found yet another pair of size 10 jeans that I don't think I have ever worn. Had them on today and and got some nice comments.
5. Another 20 miles just completed on the exercise bike .
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Ladyhawk I've not changed the fuel dd's as it's the winter quarter bills next, if they're in credit I'll do so in the Spring. It gives me a little leeway, I don't want to freeze like when we were caught out by last year's early snow . Hope your little mog sleeps through tonight for his sake!
Well done Flibsey, it's a beautiful dress, and what a little love your DD is. I used to make my children's clothes but today I'm happy to join the button sewing club
CCP I'm on the point of doing a sun dance so the tomatoes will ripen, but next doors are lovely big, round juicy red globes. How unfair is that?!
Going to find it difficult to find 5 today, but will try -
1. Woke up at 8am to a gloriously sunny morning
2. Did all my chores and was sitting down at the dining table in front of the laptop at 10am to do a project I've been procrastinating about for 3 weeks.
3. After reading my mail, facebook, MSE forums and a few other pages, I started work. At 11.45am
4. At 12.30pm my neighbour knocked to ask if I'd like a cuppa
5. Started the project at 2.15pm, worked until 6.30pm except for getting up every 15 mins to let a cat or dog in or out
and 6. Looking forward to finishing the project tomorrow
Night night, sweet dreams
