Banana. Just thought I'd try it, seems to be okay, so far
Welcome Luna, this is a super forum and a great family to belong to
:j Congratulations on passing your science kittikins, that's brilliant :j
Welcome back carrie, hope DS has a super holiday in Spain
Sounds rotten Ladyhawk, poor you. Get well now!
Good for you CCP for stepping in where angels might fear to tread. You did exactly the right thing and I'm pleased the line managers deputy recognised it
1. Very little rain, just enough that I didn't have to water
2. nsd, npd
3. Two surprise phone calls from friends, one inviting me to her house over the BH, the other ended with an invitation to tea here on Monday, so lots to look forward to
4. A fascinating, almost annual event, the place where airships are built is just a few miles from here and very occasionally we'll see one being tested. You can actually hear it a few minutes before it comes into view, todays was very low so it was possible to see it very clearly.
5. Best til last - I got my 6 month gas and elec bills today - although I try to be very careful how much I use I always open them with some trepidation. The good news is that they owe me approx £175!!! :j. Unfortunately they'd already refunded the bigger, gas one before I had a chance to phone them, but told them to leave the elec one as the Winter bills are obviously going to be higher.
Now I can spend a little on some goodies for tea on Monday, and for when DS and DGS come to visit
Night night, sweet dreams

Morning all.
My five pleasures for yesterday:
1. Cleaned the fridge. I'd rather let the kitchen slip out of control so it's a pleasure to have it sorted again.
2. Loads of decluttering removed from the house. :T
3. Got the car windscreen people to agree that the repair they'd done to my windscreen earlier this year hadn't held so they are now responsible for fitting a new screen free of charge (my insurance has an excess of £70 so this is a significant saving).
4. Some lovely phone calls with various people yesterday to sort permission for DS1 and his friends to access their land for environmental surveying. Everyone was really helpful and one bloke told me what an incredibly supportive mum I was.:D
5. Not OS or MSE, not one but two very posh designer yoghurts as a treat.
Have a happy Friday,

Goodnight all xIt is ok but really wont get the wear out of it that I would out of a long one as I already wear a shorter necklace given to me by a friend that I never take off.
What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
And no text at all from MrB. I know he's in a reception blackspot so if they have spent the day in the campsite, he won't have been able to send one. Ah well. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

hello! Can hardly believe it's Hurrah for Friday again.......so soon after the last one!
1.Giddy with excitement today.....only 4 weeks or as I was singing at work....28 days to go!
Getting ever so much nearer till we come home!
2.Was most industrious at work and this sense of purpose continued when I came home. Tidy house to start the weekend.
3.DD2 & her friend made cookies (and a whole lot of mess, which they did tidy up!)
4.Made soup using up veggies in the fridge for tea....& coolies for pud.
5. Phoned my mum.
6.Sorted through drawers & wardrobe in anticipation of my visit & have a pile of clothes for Salvos. Will sort through kids stuff over weekend.
Was chased by a duck on my way back to the car this afternoon!
kittikins well done on your exam results. You go girl & follow your dreams! You only get one go at life!
Have a great day...bedtime for me x0 -
Afternoon
Kittikins - Well done:j
Ladyhawk - Get well now
Was going to post this morning but I was feeling a bit _pale_ all my own fault due to having too many cocktails but am feeling a bit more in the land of the living now so pleasures for yesterday
1. Made chocolate muffins and some individual eve's puddings to go with the pear and almond tart and pear and chocolate cake to bring into work. All went down very well and the charity box feels heavier so all good
2. one of the guys at work telling me my cakes were better than some that someone else had brought in that were left over from a wedding and made in a a professional kitchen
3. Getting a cooked chicken in Waitrose reduced to £1.95 :money:
4. Using the chicken to prepare a quick dinner for OH before going out
5. Meeting my friend M for cocktails in a new local cocktail bar. The cocktails were 3 for 2 so would have been rude not to use the offer to its full potential. I was drinking a yummy cocktail of raspberry vodka, chambord, puree raspberries and topped up with champange, very yummy. I was suffering greatly this morning though
Will be back later with todays pleasures if I haven't fallen asleep. Hugs to all who need them0 -
afternooooooooooooon all

anyhoo lets see if i can do a 5 for today so far
1) no work and a lie in:j:j:j
2) having a duvet and dvd day with the kids.....
3)having enough wine left over lastnight for a glass tonight so i dont have to get dressed and get wet en route to the shop..
4)easy peasy tea of fish n chips has now left a bit more room in the freezer so i can do a massive shop next week when i get paid... i will empty it this month! im determined! even if freezer suprise is the meal of the week....
5) hmmmmmm may have to save that til later.....does my bum look big in this sig?0 -
Good evening, all.
1) It's turned into a decent enough day after a decidedly soggy start. (The mog took one look at it this morning and went back to bed - I wish I'd had the same option!)
2) Treated myself to a nice, free fish dinner for tomorrow courtesy of the M&S meal deal and a survey voucher. (And as I'm on my own it's actually two free fish dinners - even more :money:)
3) Tied up and de-side-shooted some more tomato plants, with a bit of 'help' from the mog.
4) French bread pizza for dinner, which will use up some of the proper Italian salami I bought from a specialist market and then decided I didn't really like.(It's got a lovely flavour but a very wet, raw meat texture which I don't much care for - I suspect it really needed to be left to cure for longer before it was sold.)
5) I'm going to be a bit naughty and open a bottle of wine to go with dinner - I'm still slowly drinking my way through the free case I got for swapping energy suppliers a while back. :money:
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0
