5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

I have a dream.....of giving up my job and going to retrain as a primary school teacher, but didn't have the science GCSE I needed (as I failed my physics O level 20-odd years ago). Now I have it, it'll just be the lack of funds and possibly health that will hold me back......but what the heck, I've enjoyed the challenge and putting my irrational fear of science to bed at last!0

Well done, Kittikins!
5 or so for me today (Thursday).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Took the boys to the opticians. They passed!
3) Got some poster paint and gold, glittery paint whilst in town and they have spent ages adding bits to their Harry Potter wands. (made from sticks). My brother also made them some brooms!
4) Tried to squeeze past the market in town (too bustling for smaller son) but right at the end was a gazebo with some owls underneath! I can't remember the name of the charity now but there were 4 owls including a barn owl (my favourite) and the boys and I could stroke them.
5) Sister popped in with the gloss paint so I can do the window sills and skirting now - then the living room is FINISHED!
Feeling a bit sad now though as smaller son has just been so silly all day and very rude. :-( And no text at all from MrB. I know he's in a reception blackspot so if they have spent the day in the campsite, he won't have been able to send one. Ah well.0 -
Evening all
Chickenopolis - :rotfl: that is funny!!! With 3 kids, a husband who is worse and a dog as well as trying to decorate so dust and dirt from that, I dont think I will ever have a spotless house! But I do keep trying!!!
Kittikins - Well done on passing your GCSE :T
Mine for today
1. Got more clutter out of kitchen and under stairs and shut the shutter so out of sight. I now have a usable breakfast bar and somewhere to start another batch of wine.
2. Kitchen and bathroom only needed a quick clean.
3. Got the ironing done (small pile but was annoying me seeing it)
4. Raining today so we stayed in and watch films so i got lots of cuddles from dd and ds2 and even managed a little nap
5. Got my handwarmers and balaclavas in the post. I am getting ready for winter. And i think i can make a girls balaclava for dd. :T0 -
Nuttybabe - Ooooh a balaclava, takes me back to being about DD's age. Last year I really wished we had some, but settled for fleecy snoods instead. Hope we don't get such a bad winter this year.......
Frith - bet MrB will be back on the phone as soon as he can wangle a trip out of the campsite x0 -
Evening all
Congratulations Kittikins!
1) Lovely sunny day here
2) Have bought a lovely fire pit....reduced from £79 to £40
3) Got some rock salt for winter - I saw it last year and thought I'd get it later and then it was too lateBeing well prepared this year
4) Got 3 bench covers for the back garden - reduced from £15 to £2 :money:
5) Another lovely e-mail from MrB. He flies home today
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

My very first post here!!
1. Standing outside under the carport, thoroughly enjoying a fantastic thunderstorm with my 3yr old DS.
2. Making leek and potato soup, yum!
3. Getting sick hen on the mend without having to resort to very costly vets.
4. Saved money going to local agricultural shop for medication instead of online or pets at home!
5. Had a lovely phonecall from little sister this evening, which always cheers me up!0 -
Evening all.
Kittikins - very well done, you! :T:T:T
Ladyhawk - I hope the pain isn't what you think it is and you're fine by tomorrow. I must admit I'd never thought of !!!!!!!" as a rude word - does the swear-word filter on the site know something we don't?
1) NSD.
2) A nice chat on the phone with my DM. It was meant to be a very quick call as I was at work, but we ended up chatting for some time.
3) Getting a 'well done' from my line manager's deputy for inviting myself to a meeting I'd been left out of: I'm glad she was pleased as it was rather ill-mannered of me to invite myself, but I could see I was going to be left out if I didn't.(I'm still a bit cross about it, TBH, as I was the one who recommended that we have a meeting and then I wasn't invited to it.)
4) Cuddles with the mog.
5) It's Friday tomorrow, and I've got a two day week next week. :j
Have a nice evening, all.

Kittikins- well done you:T
5 for today
1. The aforementioned "collective" hens (nine) managed to lay 10 eggs today (?)- although one was broken. Not bad . Need to give away around 28 eggs now!
2. Another 20 miles on exercise bike - all being well I will increase this by 10% each fortnight.Unless the physiotherapist says otherwise.
3.Bank statement arrived and cutting back on grocery shopping and meal planning is clearly working.
4. I left my hair dye on for a bit longer than usual and I am now Helen Mirren. I may regret this as it may turn to candy floss tommorrow:rotfl:
5.Nice text messages from work colleagues .
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
