    Evening all

    Mine for today

    1. Scrubbed the kitchen floor. Looks so nice now as no dirt around the edges that the mop didnt get.

    2. Quick clean of kitchen and bathroom again.

    3. Home made bolognaise pasty for lunch with lots of salad.

    4. Got a few clothes bargains for the kids in Mr A's sale.

    5. Fakeout night. Pizza and film and lots of cuddles if the kids ever manage to eat (this is why we only eat in front of tv once a week - they keep forgetting to chew!! lol)

mostly minime based as it's school summer hols.

taught minime how to clean her glasses with vinegar and an offcut of brushed cotton. she was so impressed she asked to do mine too.

jumping in puddles with minime, even if I did get funny looks from our neighbour.

going to a good, old fashioned kid's party. 6 kids, pass the parcel, home made cakes and a livingroom floor not 200 kids, dj, entertainer and a hired hall.

hearing minime inform her best friend that her nightie was made by mummy from her old cot sheet and isn't mummy clever and how she bet Ruby's mum couldn't do that. hearing ruby reply "yeah, but my mum makes good cakes and dinners" lol.

being complimented on minime's party dress; made by me at a total cost of £5. remnant of satiny lining fabric which I fell for instantly, recycled zip and bodice lining., 3 hours and tada! dress!

    Good evening all

Carolyntia- wow what a great day you have had:beer:
Ladyhawk-I hope that you are feeling better?

Reverbe- shame about the necklace , it's so disppointing when things arrive that aren't what you were expecting:( I hope that you are able to get a refund ?

    5 for today

    1. Inspired by the bird cage necklace idea, I have ordered a "pocket watch necklace" for my niece who has a birthday coming up - which has a bird cage picture on it .It looked quite cute and was definately not top dollar so I may end up with a pile of tat from Hong Kong.

2.Counted and bagged up a lot of change for my Mum who was going to put it all in one of those "Coinstar" machines where they take 10 or 15 %. Persuaded her to bank it instead .

3.Mushrooms, courgettes and some coriander picked from the garden after the rain had stopped.

    4. Chicken curry ( not from one of my hens) made in the slow cooker , I made the Naan bread from an out of date packet (May 2011) from AF it was very nice.Used the coriander in the curry and fried the mushrooms and courgettes in a curry spice mix.

    5. Gave 6 eggs away - only another 22 to find homes for . I might make a lot of cakes this weekend to use some of them up.

Have a great extended weekend all x

    Evening all,

definitely a sleepy little hawk this evening... long day in the office. I was already to leave the office at 4.55pm but then started reviewing a spreadsheet and only ended up leaving at 6.30pm.

Thanks for you kind thoughts... As you will have noticed, I haven't been rushed to A&E. I still feel uncomfortable but at least it hasn't got any worse.

Chicken - could you freeze some of you eggs or isn't that feasible for you?
Flibsey - how clever you are! and your daughter is so cute!
Carolyntia - many congratulations on your resignation. When is your last day?
Nuttybabe - well done on the cleaning expedition... you put me to shame!:p
CCP - hope you are enjoying your wine:beer:
Carrie - hope you are enjoying your wine as well
Tealady - sorry you were feeling ropey after the cocktails with your friends.
Mhags - I only just realised that by Salvos! I had this image in my mind of something completely different!
Broomstick - You have also put me to shame with yor cleaning... I will you both as my inspitation and will tackle the kitchen tomorrow (icluding cupboards and drawers)
Sparrer - well done on you frugal use of energy that allowed the fantastic bill. Are you going to change your direct debits?
Forever Saving - what type of cake did your DD make?

    1) Paid in a cheque to the bank (refund for the insurance on my old car)
    2) Lovely day in the office (I was senior management)
    3) Cuddles with the kitty on the sofa
    4) NSD
    5) used up some bits and bobs from the fridge for supper... and had some banana bread

    night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

How odd. I have bid on similar ones of this several times - pocket watch necklace etc and tho the auctions always close, they always get relisted...??

    Morning Reverbe

I got this as a "buy it now" at £4.98 with free p&p from an ebay shop. I think there were lots in stock. There were various designs to choose from. I'll let you know if it is of "Christmas cracker" gift quality. It sure isn't going to be Tiffany :)

    Ladyhawk-

    1. Boy you were up early! Hope it wasn't due to pain ??

    2. Thank you - I can freeze them once separated in ice cube trays . After having hens for 6 years I never knew this:rotfl:Now I need to buy a bigger freezer...
