    1. Sun shinning so cut the grass and strimmed using my new half price strimmer :money:

    2. When putting strimmer away in shed i found a 2 man dome tent that the last house owner had left (taken me 4 years to find it! :rotfl:) so put that up and kids played in it ALL afternoon and evening.

    3. Deep cleaned kitchen (to keep an eye on kids in garden).

    4. Did all the ironing (still keeping eye on kids), not sure what i will do if they are out there all day tomorrow as well. will have to sort through cupboards!!! :D

    CCP - Get well now

    Pleasures for today;
    1. Washing line dried today
    2. Big pile of ironing done this morning, is it just me or is washing and ironing a never ending job
    3. Lunch today was a Ham and Tomato sandwich using HM bread (first loaf from the bread maker), RTC ham and free tomatoes off FIL so very OS and MSE
    4. Chat with my cousin who called to say how impressed he was with DD. She had entertained his 3 year old DD all day at a family wedding yesterday giving him and his OH some time to catch up with other guests.
    5. Nice walk home from work in the sunshine

hugs to all who need them

    Evening Ladies and Keith,

CCP - sorry you have been feeling wretched. I was really put of VW's by my last car which was a lemon of a Golf.

Chicken - sorry you have been feeling wretched as well.

Nuttybabe - I want to come to live with you! You find such interesting things in your house!

    1) Got most of my online training complete in the office today. It was dull and pointless but at least it is done.

    2) LSD - I had to picked 7 birthday cards for £1.

    3) Made some redcurrant jelly when I got home

    4) Made a loaf of banana and walnut bread. It was a new recipe I got off here and it smells yummy!

    5) Easy supper of RTC mushrooms and tomato on toast... yum!

    6) Got a load of washing done

    7) Booked my flights to my brothers wedding... I have over 3 weeks of holiday at the end of November/ beginning December. YIPPEE!!:j:j

    Nighty night all.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Well, not feeling quite as marvellous as yesterday and don't think I'll manage 10 pleasures, but here goes...

5 or so for today (Monday).

    1) Boys went to their father's. Right, I'll get the little moan out of the way. He hadn't seen them since the 2nd August. Smaller son's birthday was just after that. No card, no present - nothing. But today, the ex gave him a £10 note. He's 8... it's hardly the most thoughtful present! Anyway, the pleasure was that I got 4 hours to myself today so managed to paint the walls in the new living room.

    2) Made loads of phone calls while the boys were away so have smaller son's repeat prescription ordered, hairdressing appointment booked for tomorrow (so I can get rid of the silly, toupee look!) and boys' opticians appointments booked for later this week.

    3) Some of yesterday's chicken and brocolli pie for my lunch.

    4) Remembered the homemade ice lollies I made so the boys had those.

    5) Text from MrB. :-)

    6) Made some fairy cakes.

That's about it! A bit of a nothingness day today.

Get well now CCP and Chicken :)

Had a good day with DM yesterday but was soooo tired when I got home, couldn't see to post. So for yesterday and today -

    1. Left home at 7.30 so met very little traffic on the M-ways. Trundled along at 70mph (I'm definitely slowing down in my old age) except for the miles of roadworks on the M25 when it's fixed at 50mph. A rare chance to enjoy the scenery ;) and only used 1/2 tank petrol.
    2. DM is going to a wedding in October so we looked for an outfit for her. Found the perfect top in the first shop we went into, to go with a skirt she already has. Such a perfect match they could have been a set, and the top was 1/2 price in their sale :)
    3. On the way back to DM's there was a horrendous scraping noise coming from under the car. Drove back slowly, looked under the car and there was a huge lump of plastic hanging down . Tried to get it off but couldn't, so called the breakdown service and they were there in 30 minutes :T. He removed the 'pan' which does the job of a mudflap, which he said was no doubt broken on speed humps, they have dozens of these call outs every month. The 'pleasure' is that it's not vital and won't affect the engine or the MoT which is due in Oct, so no need to have it replaced which would cost approx 1/4 the value of the car.
    4. Went to pulm exercise class this morning, my reps have increased month by month and am feeling much better than this time last year. Not looking forward to winter but if I keep on doing what I'm doing I should get through without infection. Thanks again, NHS :T
    5. Called in to see DD for coffee after the class, DGD2 was there as well as it's still holidays. Always lovely to see them :)
    6. A sunny day so sat outside at my new patio furniture and had my bread and cheese lunch
    7. Mowed the lawn - when I say lawn, I'm talking about an area approx 12' x 15' max :o
    7. 2 raspberries, 5 blackberries picked and put in freezer to join the rest of the seasons harvest. The promise of more to come, and very green tomatoes yet to ripen so roll on our Indian Summer!
    8. The weather forecast was thunder storms so I didn't water - I love storms so I hope I don't sleep through it, it usually takes more than a bit of thunder to wake me

Night night, hugs and sweet dreams

So much for thinking that I'd post a second time on Saturday. Heigh ho.

My five since Saturday lunchtime then!

    1. Fab walk with DS1 who was needing to recce a place about ten miles away prior to an environmental survey he's organising. We ended up getting permission sorted with farmers and having a really good wander down a canal tow path past lots of fixed moorings where everyone had their boats opened up in the early evening sunshine and were being very sociable and fun.

    2. Talking masses with each other as we walked.

    3. Lovely, lovely sunsets over the last few days.

    4. Sorting out, in a very big way, two of the floor to ceiling bookshelves in my bedroom. I can find everything now.

    5. Getting my washing done and line dried before the bad weather which is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

    Sweet dreams

Hello Mhagster, really pleased to read you had a great time with your new friends :) and not long now til you go back home is it, bet you're counting the minutes now!!

Yay, a great day so far, yes, I know it's only 5:30pm but I'm happy

    1. YS tomatoes, so they were a price I was happy to pay rather than being overpriced as per usual!
    2. Gave away some more goodies to the charity shop, slowly but surely I'm sorting bits out......very slowly!
    3. Bought a friend a fabulous swanky corkscrew, just like mine in the CS :) He will be so excited!
    4. Bought some great salad servers in the CS, for only 50p. Will donate my enormous ones currently in the kitchen that always fall out of the salad bowl tomorrow!
    5. OH treated DD and I to cinema tickets to see Mr Popper's Penguins, loved it :) He took his son to see something a bit more grown-up...but a great afternoon for us all :)
    6. DD played on a bouncy castle for half an hour (rather than the 5 minutes we paid for!!) whilst we waited for OH and OH's DS' film to end, what a treat!
    7. DD went to a fab drama workshop in the village bookshop and I had some time to do a few chores
    8. Saving the best til last, OH told me that he has now asked his provider to put International roaming on his mobile so we will be able to keep in touch with the odd text whilst he's away :smileyhea
