Hiya again, and :hello: to new people. I've gone and let another few days roll by without posting but it's all because I've been getting on with much needed work and have been just too distracted. So I'm posting a few pleasures for the last few days and I'll see if I can do some more for today tonight. That sounds like very odd English!
Anyway,
1. All the news about exam results has been lovely, with a couple of really nice friends of DS1 heading to University in our area in the autumn.
2. Managing not to fly off the handle at DS1 on Thursday night about some pretty serious stuff that's been going on but talking with him sensibly about it in the car (so he couldn't escape) - me having promised not to get angry first - and I think he actually heard what I was saying and neither of us raised our voices. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is back on track.
3. We heard that DS2 has a free place on a local evening class this autumn.
4. Still really enjoying my new desk. It has a white top and has made the room so much lighter. It will help brighten everything in the winter too.
5. Listening to Winifred Holtby's 'The Crowded Street' on Radio 4 iplayer through the week. (It's billed as' a woman's journey to independence set in WWI Yorkshire' and I really enjoyed it. For other radiodramaoholicswho might have missed it, the omnibus of the first five episodes is available 'til tomorrow and this week's five episodes are around for a little bit longer).

Evening all.
My apologies for the lack of post yesterday, but I didn't feel I really belonged on an OS thread after I abandoned my meal-planned dinner in favour of various bits I picked up on a whim from an Italian market. Everything I bought was on special offer, but it still wasn't very OS of me.
Today was better, though:
1) A nice lie-in this morning, having got to sleep rather late last night as my neighbours were having a very noisy party. I didn't complain as they do it very rarely, but it was impossible to sleep with a dozen people singing Kylie songs at the top of their voices right outside my window.
2) After a rather soggy start it turned into a nice day to be wandering around Chichester.
3) Popped into Lakeland and came away with only what I'd intended to buy. :A
4) Removed the side shoots from my tomato plants, a job I always enjoy even if I do end up with bright green fingers.
5) Sausage and bean casserole for dinner, a meal that always makes me think of my DF as it's his recipe.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hiya
Todays:
1. loads of washing done and dried on line
2. Listed 14 things on ebay - free listing weekend
3. Got more wallpaper off
4. Dd helped alot today with getting wallpaper off walls
5. Got some advice on the diy boards regarding plaster coming off with wallpaper and so relieved that we can just fill in the gaps rather than having room replastered!0 -
Frith-
what more can I say??
CCP- I take it you won't be playing Aerosmith until the wee small hours yourself tonight then??
Ladyhawk- the enigma code eh ? I thought VW may offer you some "pretty things" by way of an apology. Audi did something similar for us . Hope you are enjoying the car
5 OS pleasures for today
1. OH caught some plaice last night when he went diving. It was massive and we had it battered with chips for lunch. He got bit sick of me saying "your place or mine then?" though. Lots left and lots of trimmings for the birds.
2. 8 eggs from the hens today. 1 is moulting so is not laying but 8 is quite a lot . I am struggling to give them away. Ladyhawk- need any for your courgette cakes??
3. Reading my book . I can't put it down and I know this is a luxury for me as when I am back at work it will be hard to find time to do this.
4.Coriander and the tiny buttenut squash are growing nicely.
5. OH has mowed the lawns , which has saved me picking up chicken p** which I usually do every day. The garden looks really massive. I am lucky to have one:)
Hope everyone is having a good weekend x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

1.) Lovely cuddle with oh this morning before she had to get up for work.
2.) Got home to find she had been to mr.s and done the shopping and had also done me a 'happy bag' i.e, nice bits to cheer me up.
3.) Went back to mr s this evening as oh had forgot stuff she needed for work and we got £19 worth of plants for a total of £1.74!!
4.) worked out that in total all the clothing from mr s that we bought should have cost £79.00 and we paid just ££22.10 :j
5.) Went to look after Dad today - just thankful he has made another day.0
