Chickenopolis - never bothered with the film as it had a soporific effect on me too (not a big Leonardo fan), but loved the book of The Beach :)

    A glorious day today:

    1. Cuddles with DD who slept in my bed last night (and will probably do so again tonight!)

    2. Scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of its life and it looks much nicer

    3. DD and I sorted out one of her bookcases and have taken a bag of books to the charity shop and have another bag to put in the loft for my future grandchildren according to her!!

    4. Received £4 LV in payment for doing a survey recently and spent them wisely J

    5. Lovely texts from OH *swoon* J

    6. The sunshine J

    7. Yummy lunch in Pizza Hut, nice and cheap using a voucher

    8. Bought cheap travel passes to get to the football match tomorrow, after chatting to a nice lady in the supporter’s shop when picking up the tickets

    9. Played on the beach in the sunshine with DD

    10. Found it amazingly easy to resist ‘bargains’ in the clothes sales, I really don’t need anything (other than the tights I bought!).

    11. Chatted to some lovely people and their cute dogs

    12. Nearly brought a cat home with us as he followed us up the road to where our car was parked

    13. Saved lots of money by getting the train rather than driving and parking in Brighton

    14. We stopped when we heard amazing drumming and were transfixed for about 30 minutes by an amazing group of people finishing off a dance and drumming workshop. Awesome J

    15. Thinking how lovely it is to have laid-back our time is our own days with DD, we had train tickets, free parking, a little bit of money, a bottle of water and no need to be anywhere at any time once we’d done the main thing we went to Brighton for. Bliss!

Of course, the downside is that I had so much fun mooching and walking around with DD that my back and leg are now killing me, so I’m dosed up to the eyeballs with painkillers and I will soon be going up to bed as we have a busy, busy couple of days. OH’s appointment wasn’t a total success (nothing too serious) and he’s tired and sore from all the poking about too, so is staying at home tonight rather than us both being tired and sore, so fingers crossed for tomorrow J Enjoy your Friday nights folks!

    Just got a no.16:

Opened an email with my £10 worth of points for train travel from the offer in this week's MSE email, yippee! We're planning a weekend away and I was hoping to take the train rather than drive and this will certainly help.

    Hiya

Mine for today (just relised its friday and we didnt have fakeout or film , days just seem to merge into one)

    1. a lie in, woken up to kids playing nice (for 2 mins before they started fighting!!! :p)

    2. found carpets are cheaper than the flooring we wanted so getting it priced up tomorrow but hubby wants brown and i want beige so not sure we will agree if the price does comes in cheaper :rotfl:

    3. hubby learnt a valuable lesson today (earlier in week he spent my food money on rubbish which annoyed me and yes i know i should have gone shopping without him) and today i told him i needed toilet roll and he needed vinegar/washing up liquid for removing wallpaper. so he did his usual of piling up rubbish and then HE had to pay for it and i paid for toilet roll and beans (on offer in asda). so i am happy that he will run out of diesel money end of month - he needs to learn the hard way! :rotfl:

    4. Dd spent all day stripping wallpaper. bless her, she only got about 1 mtr squre done but she worked so hard. :T

    5. hubby just brought me out a huge glass of wine (one of his purchases of today) and cleared up tea stuff and he has put on cougar town (trying not to wonder what he is up to - asking for diesel money at end of the month i think!!!! :rotfl:). :D

    Evening

Kittikins - Sounds like you and DD had a fab day

    Today's pleasures
    1. Reading a chapter of my book this morning before work, should have done some ironing really but this was much more of a pleasure
    2. Writing a click by click instruction guide (idiots guide) so I can hand over a job I have been doing as a favour. Hopefully this will make the training a little less painful than it has been so far.
    3. Lunch at the pub across the road from the office with some friends. It is clean and the staff are friendly but not somewhere you would go if trying to impress someone.
    4. Nice chat with DD on the phone. We had been planning to try to go to Edinburgh for a day or two when I pick her up but all the hotels are sooo expensive we have decided not to bother. Instead we have decided on the Metro Centre for the day. Sure it will cost me as much in the long run.
    5. Tasty dinner tonight of chicken in a pepper and brandy sauce with rice followed by HM apple and almond crumble (still using up FIL apples).

Hugs to all who need them

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Hmm... not sure what happened there!! Lets try that again... MHags - glad someone understood the gobbledygook!

I picked up my car this evening!!! They also knocked £100 of 2 years servicing and they gave me a massive bunch of flowers to say sorry for the hassle they caused me.

    1) See above re the car
    2) See above re the flowers
    3) I have baked two cakes this evening (chocolate courgette) - one to take to the baby shower I am going to this evening and the other to give to my brother. Imay make another one to take to a birthay party tomorrow evening, but I don't think I could be bothered/

!) Picked up some good bargains at MrS tonight... 55p for a dozen organic, free range eggs and 55p for a pack of yymmy smoked salmon.

    5) Took my own lunch into work.

Nighty night - I am going to sleep well tongiht!

Well, a very exciting day, chez Frith. :)

    5 or so for today.

    1) Lie in.

    2) Dropped sons off at mum and dad's where (by all accounts), they had a good time - and went to the pub!

    3) Went to MrB's. :j How to split this elegantly into a few pleasures...

    4) Had tea made for me. :)

    5) Tea was cut short so brought the pudding home with me. :D:o

    6) Drove on the motorway to get home, so hopefull working towards conquering another panic attack making activity.

Very weary after a long day so will try to write a post that makes sense
Ladyhawk I thought for a moment you were writing in some sort of code ;)

    1. collected the new patio set and after much Army language I managed to get it put together. My neighbour offered to help but I was determined not to keep relying on him to come to my rescue. It took almost 5 hours but I did it :D
    2. Loaded the car with rubbish, prunings etc from my garden and next doors, ready to go to the tip in the morning. Gardens are both now looking very tidy
    3. Postie brought my folding shovel to keep in the car. Very neat, and I'm very impressed at the value
    4. Picked the last few plums, a few more blackberries and a handful of raspberries, with lots more to come. Very pleased with the first years crops from my wee plot :)
    5. nsd :)

    Night night, sleep tight

eta Frith sorry you had to leave Mr B early, hope all's well. Good for you driving on the Mway, a terrific feat :T

    My five are

    1. Picking blackberries and there are still loads left.

    2. Fond and picked some plums which are lovely.

    3. Had a tidy up and DS1 went to the tip for me.

    4. Made fish pie for tea as DS2 is still away and he doesn't like fish.

    5. Made eton mess with some of the blackberries, some cream that needed eating and the meringues from the cupboard which were reduced as a battered box.

Here's 5 for yesterday, wish I could remember to do this everyday! It's my favourite thread ever.

    1. Walk in the woods with DS, friend and her DS
    2. Taking DS to park on new trike nanny and grandad bought
    3. Watching DS play in new sand pit (no it wasn't his birthday :-)). We don't buy him loads of new things, so it's great how much he enjoys what he has
    4. Homemade Anzac biscuits
    5. Nice sit down and chat with DH in the evening, by candle light
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!
