Tired! Will try a couple for yesterday then 5 for today.

    Monday

    1) Popped into Sainsburys for food for camping and tents were 70% off! So got a 2 man dome tent for £5.99.

    2) Went camping on the side of the Teme Valley (aka the field at the back of mum and dad's). We had a good campfire and cooked baked apples, potatoes and sweet potatoes and hot dogs. Saved the marshmallows for when it got dark. Then sons slept in the new dome tent and I slept in brother's ancient ridge tent. They slept from about 12-6...

    Today

    1) Breakfast cooked on the camp fire.

    2) Some cheery texts from MrB.

    3) Went to visit my friend in Walsall.

    4) Tea at Ikea.

    5) Fairly on top of housework - something to do with being away for 2 days!

    6) About to go to bed with sons and watch Harry Potter no. 2.

Reverbe- its good to here from you. What a difference a week makes (hideous riots):)

CCP- glad the meeting was abandoned :)

    5 for today

    1. Spending the morning with my nephew and neice.Feeling distinctly like Dobbey the House Elf ( sorry H.E) My neice is 14 and is well over 6ft in her stockinged feet.

    2. "Supervising" my neice who made a vegan ginger cake.Whilst her brother who was next door at my Mums made some white chocolate brownies (from a packet)- No contest -OS home made won hands down.

    3. Two colleagues from work came round to visit and were apprehensive about eating the cake because of the "v" word. Both loved it and were suprised that they liked it. Gave one of them 15 eggs to take to another colleague at work.

    4. Finding a thought provoking downshifters blog.

    5. A peaceful evening to myself with a bowl of scampi ( I am a cheap date)

    Have a good evening everyone
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Chickenopolis - would you be able to post the vegan ginger cake recipe or point me in the right direction? Sounds yummy to a wannabe vegan :)

    Hi all

Carolyntia belated happy birthday, hope you had a lot of fun celebrating and - if you are anything like me - are still celebrating into the next week and longer!

Here are my pleasures for today:

1 - Managed to stick to my low-carbing again, after being a bit naughty for the last couple of weeks. Feeling better, lighter and no bloating - this is really the way to eat for me!

2 - DD and her BF drove my old treadle machine, which had been stuck in a friend's garden shed (yes, dreadful, all the wood is ruined! Long term loan and they really did not look after it at all. GRRRRRR) to be repared. The wood part is really in a state but at least I shall get the machine itself reconditioned, oiled and in full working order.

3 - Again kind DD and her kind BF helped me try out my tent before my camping trip on Friday. It is HUGE! Much bigger than I expected and has headroom which is very important for me. I will need help to put it up but there will be plenty people at camp (I hope) willing to give a hand in exchange of receiving a hand themselves (or simply passing the favour on).

4 - Zumba class with DH, hard work but really fun.

5 - DD and her BF (yes I know, aren't they a pair of treasures?) cooked dinner for the family.

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Cooked some of the apples down that FIL gave me at the weekend. I will eat them for breakfast either on own or with some porridge
    2. Left over spag bol for lunch, was yummy
    3. Tasty cheap chicken curry for dinner, used a jar of paste and RTC chicken
    4. Another free bottle of soft drink and managed to get the promotional bottle so that will mean another one for the cost of a text :money:
    5. Watching the lovely sunset tonight, very pretty

Hugs to all who need them

    Great day today.

    1. Two successful bids on ebay - got things I needed at a fair price.
    2. Paid a little bit more off the mortgage - every little helps!
    3. Completed a course of anti-biotics this evening - the side effects were probably worse than the chest infection.
    4. Got to work really early this morning and made sure all my colleagues knew (stand me in good stead next time I'm late).
    5. Watched a badger eating cake on my lawn last night. Wonderful!

Hope you all have a fantastic week.

    Evening all,

Hope you are well well. I am feeling a little delicate today after drinks with some colleagues last night.

    Monday
    1) Walk into town at lunch to sort out some bank issues
    2) Took my own lunch into the office
    3) Cakes in the office
    4) Really fun evening with my colleagues and supper was put on expenses.
    5) Stayed over at my lovely colleague J's house as I wanted to have a drink last night and her daughter was away on holiday.

    Today
    1) J made me a nice big mug of tea before we headed into the office
    2) Departmental away day. It was a really odd day but quite fun... I learnt to fly fish! well to cast at least. Its always nice to learn from people who are passionate about that they do.
    3) Lovely snooze when I got home
    4) Made a chocolate for my lovely colleague A who's birthday it was today.
    5) Made a batch of yoghurt
    6) Popped into MrS and picked up loads of YS fruit which are are going to be made into jam when I get a sec.

    Nighty night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

CCP so pleased the interview was cancelled, hope you got an apology for stress caused ;)
Reverbe good to see you posting
Caterina Enjoy your adventure! I bought a super tent a couple of years ago so DGD2 and I could go camping but gave it to my son cos I really think my camping days are well behind me. Was all good fun though :D
Chicken you did make me laugh :rotfl:. I'm 5 feet nothing, my son-in-law and his sons are all over 6feet so when we're together I feel like a mushroom in a pine forest

    1. Freecycled some glass jars
    2. Weeded the front patio, amazing how quickly weeds grow through the paving slabs no matter how much spray stuff I put on it - organic, of course
    3. 'Won' 16m neutral coloured, heavy fabric for silly money on that auction site, just right for making curtains for all the single glazed ground floor doors.
    4. 2 vouchers from Mr S, spend £20 and get 6p a litre off fuel. I keep hearing about them but it's the first time I've ever got them, I'll look after them like gold dust :D
    5. Picked the last of the plums from my little tree, final total was almost 8lb! Not bad for the first year, from what looks a bit like a stick with leaves ;)

Night night, hugs and sweet dreams
