    ooh just run[STRIKE] most of[/STRIKE] 5 miles and i'm not dead :T

    Mine for yesterday

    1. walked into town with rucksack on wheels and rucksack on back and bought shed loads of shampoo, conditioner from the poundshop - my DD goes through so much that i refuse to pay for anything dearer, and it works fine.
    2. Got loads of other stuff too - ketchup, biscuits, chocolate, fleeces from wilko in the sale, and managed to lug it all home. walked in with a rucksack on wheels on my back (if that makes sense) with another little ruckie inside and then wheeled the one home with heavy stuff in and carried the other - worked a treat and saved the kids from mum getting a "wally trolley" yet.
    3. Kids went to pictures so me and OH went out for the afternoon. One of the advantages of the kids getting older is that we have some us time (and don't have to sit through terrible kiddy films - i have not yet recovered from Thomas the Tank Engine the Movie! :rotfl:)
    4. The downside of that was that while we saved pennies in town, we spent nearly £200 on a bedroom annexe for our caravan awning. It will keep DD happily caravanning for another couple of years tho, as she will have some space of her own - and then DS can have it after her.
    5. Did the weekly shop in M&S (after going there for a cuppa - one freebie using thier loyalty card), only needed a few bits and thought if we went to Mr S we'd buy loads we didn't need, so I reckon it saved us money.

Busy day ahead - have a good'un all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I only have one but it's a big one.

    1. Posting and letting off steam in the My Home is a Mess thread because I just needed to get it off my chest to someone and you guys here aren't likely to judge me on things I just don't know where to start with.

    :)

    Evening all.

mummysaver - what a terrifying thing to happen. I'm very glad you're OK.

    1) Another nice lie-in this morning (not quite as long as yesterday's, I'm pleased to say ;)).

    2) Bacon sarnie for brunch...

    3) ..which was accompanied by the first coffee from my new, free coffee maker (free thanks to points from doing a weekly scan of my shopping). :money:

    4) Nice chat on the phone to my DM and DF, getting an update on my grandmother's house sale. (Which sadly isn't going well, thanks to an 'electrician' who looks to have been a con artist rather than a real electrician. :()

    5) Finally got the last of my New Guinea busy lizzies planted out, which I've been intending to do for weeks. :o

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Hi Everyone,

Mummysaver - how frightening. Do you suffer from them regularly or did it just come out of the blue?

I'm not feeling too clever today after a little overindulgence in some cider last night. I didn't have that much but am paying for it! So I have been exceptionally unproductive today. Shamefully lazy in fact.

    1) Finished my book this morning... it was the autobiography of Steve Wozniak (founder and designer of Apple computers). I'm not sure that I would like him in person but it was interesting nonetheless.

    2) Nice chat with mum this evening on Skype and she has agreed to lend me the cash for my car if I can't pay on my credit card.

    3) Sent an email to the CEO of VW UK explaining how unhappy I was with the service I received yesterday from the dealership. I hope that he takes it seriously and I really think that it gives car salesmen a bad name.

    4) Cuddles with the kitty

    5) Used some of the courgettes for supper in a pasta sauce...

Nighty night... have a lovely week!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Good evening all

Ladyhawk-I hope that you get a satisfactory response from VW. I think you should:)

mummysaver - I hope you are feeling better now?

VJsmum- you didn't do the 5 miles with all those bags in tow did you?:)

    5 for today

    1. Picking what I feel will be the last of the french beans.

    2. Not getting bitten or stung today as I have been each time I have been up the garden.

    3. My brother turning up out of the blue.

    4. My nephew who is 11 years old coming over to see the chickens with a female friend "she is not my girlfriend you know" although they are inseperable. She is a bit of a "tom boy" - as I always have been
which means I will probably have a soft spot for her from now on.

5.Yellow Sticker roast chicken for tea with beans from the garden, rosemary from the garden and fresh egg for the yorkshires from Mercurial Muriel the hen also in the garden:)

    Have a good evening everyone

    Evening all

Mummysaver - that must of been terrifying....hope you're ok now

    1) The garage where I swapped the car sent through the spare keys - in my excitement to hop in it I forgot all about them :o
    2) Cleared out the garage and did some winter prepping - jump leads, thick fluorescent jacket (thanks work), deicer, scrapers and fold up snow shovel now in the boot - also got some 'on offer' screenwash from Asda
    3) Lovely relaxing weekend so far
    4) Some winter prepping housewise - stocked up on tins/packets and some dishwasher salt for the path
    5) House next door is sold - not too sure how long this will be a pleasure for :o
    6) It's my birthday tomorrow so I've got tomorrow and Tuesday off work :D
    7) Had a £10 voucher for Matalan and got some new bath mats and some flat shoes for work
    8) Very low spend in Asda today as my freezer is stacked to the gunnels :rotfl:
    9) Beautiful yellow sticky roses
    10) House is clean and tidy so I've got absolutely nothing to do tomorrow - might go and look at new sofas :o

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

Many thanks everyone, I'm doing fine now and hopefully the consultant will let me go home tomorrow :) Never had one before and hope to never have another, thankfully I was at home and spud was safe. They can find no cause so far, apparently these things sometimes happen for no known reason! Anyway my five pleasures for today:

    1. My fabulous best friend moving in and looking after the children for me :)

    2. My best female friend coming down from Yorkshire to help out with the kids and ferry them back and forth from the hospital.

    3. All the amazing people who work in the hospital, my care and treatment has been amazing, our NHS is fantastic.

    4. Enjoying reading and listening to my iPod - usually a slightly guilty pleasure!

    5. Knowing that due to OS preparedness, the cupboards at home are full and that everyone has plenty to eat!
GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£400

(((Mummysaver))) I agree, the NHS is fantastic, lovely to read that whilst you've had a blooming scary time, you and the children are being well looked after. Hope you'll be home happy and healthy tomorrow.

Frith - sounds like MrB and you are getting on well :):)

    1. Lovely sleep with DD curled up next to me last night :)
    2. DD and I had a fun drive up to my parents, listening to some new stories
    3. Went to Co$tco and bought some bargains and resisted some things that we didn't need for a change!
    4. Great games of cards with DD.
    5. DM made yummy dinner and I got sent away with the remains of pudding :)
    6. Drove home singing along to loads of brilliant music on the radio, good job I was on my own!!
