Ladyhawk, for courgette fritters dip you can mix a tbsp mayo with a tbsp yogurt, a pinch of chilli and a pinch of dried herbs - very nice! Or mix some vinegar with minced chilli, also good. Or lemon juice also goes well. Enjoy! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

2) MrB meeting my sister and surviving!
3) Sister and I painting the new living room (took 7 hours!)
4) Boys happy at my sister's (from last night until this morning) then my mum and dad's (this morning until tea time).
5) School friend coming over to help with painting.
6) Made a nice curry for tea.
7) School friend and boys watching Harry Potter happily as I type.
Such a lovely day I feel quite emotional now!0 -

1. Pets allowed me to have a bit of a lie-in til 8.30
2. Pruned the eucalyptus, it's beginning to resemble a lollipop again now. Mowed the lawn and weeded all the pots, the garden looks a lot neater - for a few days, anyway
3. Picked a marg tub of blackberries and a bowl of plums from the garden with lots more ripening, and masses of apples on the espalier, so yummy crumbles are on the cards for the coming week. There's also one raspberry with the promise of plenty more on the canes. Still only tiny green tomatoes but they had a late start so there's hope yet
4. Unbelievably yet another invite from the NHS, the third in two weeks! I really appreciate all these cancer tests, but some are saying they stop doing them after the age of 64, so I'd better get them all done while I still have the chance!
5. NSD, need milk and bread but can hang on til tomorrow when I have to go out anyway so will kill 2 birds with one stone
Night night, hugs to everyone and sleep tight

Evening everyone.
My five for Saturday:
1. We have had the first full 24 hours of electricity in a week. I saw the guys working overtime on the main road this morning :T so maybe they have fixed it permanently.
2. Drove DS1 to a place on the Downs where he was helping to run an environmental session this weekend. It was beautiful, sunny, green and with gorgeous views - one of my favourite places ever.
3. Stopped off at the farm shop on the way home and got treats for lunch including local strawberries (which, thank goodness, I am not allergic to :j).
4. I went and had a nap this afternoon and DS2 moved the floor to ceiling bookcases and desks around in the sitting room all by himself so that when I woke up it was all done and the room looked fantastic and I can get at my new desk properly now.
5. Nice long phone call from a friend.
I hadn't rated today very highly until I'd written all this down and now I realise that, although not productive in the way I'd intended, I've actually had a really good time.
Sleep well

Mummysaver, poor you, glad you are ok now, but it must have been so scary! (((((HUGS)))))
Early morning pleasures for my day:
1 - Long phone call with DH first thing in the morning
2 - Breakfast with DD, it was nice for once to have only the two of us at the breakfast table, no rush and a lovely egg mushroom breakfast with nice cup of tea in a calm environment.
3 - Even though it is nice to have a break from the "boys" it is lovely to know that both DH and DS will be back tonight. After a while away from them I do miss them!
4 - Looking forward to meeting a few friends this afternoon for a mini tea party in my garden (weather permitting). It looks like the weather might permit it after all as the sky has some blue patches among the clouds (crossing fingers it stays like this or even gets better!).
5 - Looking at our two cats with DD from the kitchen door and admiring their beauty. DD commented that they are very decorative against the greenery of the garden - they are both ginger and very very nice even if I say so! And they are incredibly peaceful and loving towards us.
Have a good day all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
