Damn -lost post, so here (again) are mine for yesterday

    1. made said nectarine jam - yummy but a bit soft set, but it will have to do
    2. went for a drink with OH while DS did rugby training near the pub
    3. DD made yummy cup cakes - Banocolate as we didn't have any 'offee
    4. stretched 1lb mince into lasagne for 7 - there was a time that would barely have fed 4. probably could have done more but got fed up putting all the veg into the mini chopper (to disguise it from DS) so..
    5. Have decided to spend £50 tax rebate on a food processor - just one that chops, slices grates. Think it will get used a lot.

Press reply quick before it disappears again...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening all,
sparrer - I really hope that you went on the date.

chicken - having met sparrer in real life, I can confirm that she is a lovely lady.

    1) I bought a new car today!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D It is a few years old... but oh so pretty :D:D:D I negotiated hard and managed to get a good deal. I pick it up next Friday.

Not sure if anything can top my new car and the fact that I am finally getting rid of my current one which has caused me so much trouble.

    2) If I hadn't had to pay the deposit on my car, it would have been a NSD for me.

    3) I took a HM birthday cake into work for one of my nice colleagues. He was very pleased... as were everyone else who were in the office.

    4) Really busy day in office. So nice to be busy.

    5) Chatted to the brother that upset me last week. He seemed happier.

    Nighty night all

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening

Ladyhawk - Congratulations on the new car

    Pleasures for today -
    1. Made chocolate muffins this morning which went down very well at work especially liked by my boss
    2. Free lunch at work and I didn't have to sit through a boring meeting to get the lunch so even better
    3. Lots of new potatoes left over from lunch so brought some home and used for dinner
    4. Nice texts from DD she is sleeping over at my cousins tonight. It is quite funny as our DD's get on really well and we really dont like each other but never let if affect the kids
    5. Was going to go out to dinner with OH tonight but I cooked us a rather nice dinner if I do say so myself and opened a nice bottle of wine instead. Much nicer and much cheaper as the meat I used was a yellow sticky piece of fillet.:money:

Hugs to all who need them
  • Evening all

Broomstick - Well done on the weight loss. I lost 3 stone when they finally found out I'm lactose intolerant :D
Caterina - It's good to hear that you and your OH got things sorted - it's at times like these that you find out who your friends really are
mhagster - ((((hugs)))) I bet you feel a lot better now you've talked to him about it. I nearly passed out when you mentioned your nail - I managed to run my finger under a sewing machine needle when I was at school _pale_

So tired! Have worked all day cleaning, moving furniture back in, cleaning again. Hopefully there will be a link to the new living room....

    5 or so for today.

    1) Builders finally finished!

    2) Lovely texts from MrB and he is COMING FOR TEA TOMORROW!!!!

    3) Cleaned. :-S

    4) Mum, dad and brother came round to help me move the piano. No mean feat as we had to push it (on castors) over 2 planks...

    5) Went swimming with sons and brother.

    6) Had tea at mum and dad's.

Tea for MrB. I'm thinking sausages and mash (mash inc sweet potato) followed by blackberry and apple crumble. Any thoughts? Seems he is leaving work early and coming straight here. :-) Very excited but quite nervous. Hope he doesn't bump into MrN outside my house!

Cor, all the weight loss that's been happening! If I get stuck - 'plateau' is the term isn't it? - then I'll borrow a bit of someone else's loss to tide me over :rotfl: I'm determined to clobber my food intolerance stuff - and I know that wheat is an absolute no-no for me - but, apart from that, eating is a bit boring at the moment because I'm not having lots of other staples (for us) although the children are eating normally. I am very suspicious of citrus, tomatoes and celery (where's the suspicious smiley when I need one!) in terms of generating my arthritis-ish symptoms so I'm having to work around all that.

I think that may be my cue for some pleasures...

    1. The vegbox cucumber which was lovely with tonight's omelette!

    2. A very helpful phone call with an OU adviser.

    3. Sorted out lots of financial paperwork.

    4. Listening to 'A farewell to arms' on Radio 4.

    5. Feeling grateful that the riot situation seems to be so much calmer now and that communities have rallied so supportively to help each other.

    Sweet dreams

Caterina lovely to hear from you and so pleased you're all safe and sound :)
Woohoo Ladyhawk, a new car! Happy motoring :D. Thank you for your very kind comment :o

    1. Took DD to the hospital, the slpints are off her fingers and they don't want to see her again :j. Much as I don't mind taking her I don't do mornings and getting up at 6.30am to do battle with commuter traffic is not my idea of a good start to the day!
    2. We went from the hosp to a retail park, DD bought a camera she'd been wanting and got it during a half price sale. Then on to the serious business of clothes shopping, I was looking for something to wear this evening and she rejected all I picked up and persuaded me to buy a top I'd never have dreamed of looking at. Had lunch in a finger-lickin' fast food place which wasn't too expensive. Browsed round various stores, it was a lovely girlie day with my DD :)
    3. Got back to DD's house, tried on the top, it took 2 stone off me! I love it now! :rotfl:
    4. Eventually got home and neighbour came in for a cuppa and chat. Just had time for a 30 minute nap before getting ready for this evening.
    5. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I did go on the date, he was pleasant enough, though I did learn more about the Welsh rugby team in a couple of hours than I had in my whole life til then

Night night, hugs and sweet dreams. Mine will no doubt be of grubs, mauls and rucks...

    My five are

    1. A good pilates class

    2. Took lunch into work

    3. DS1 cooked tea (under pressure)

    4. Good walk with my dog.

Thats all but it was a good day
  • Sparrer- as long as he was not wearing a gum shield...My ex used to have to put tape over his ears-when he wasn't playing rugby:rotfl:

Frith- your food for tonight sounds lovely. I hope it goes well and I hope that he does bump in to Mr. N. to show him that you are getting on with your life.

Wow new cars, men and jobs :) Sounds like a summer of content to me...

Not many for yesterday as pain killers stole the day from me...

1.Saw g.p who has prescribed a less lethal dose of pain killers.

    2. New libarary books

    3. My "aunt" - who is really a friend of my Mum and not a blood relation popped round and I gave her 9 eggs. I swear that she is my Mum really as she is a bit odd like me:)

Nothing very exciting really happened yesterday.
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Yesterday's goodies.....

    1. DD came back from my parents :)
    2. OH and I went to a local amphitheatre to see the pirates of penzance - it was a brilliant evening :)
    3. Neighbour babysat DD and she had a whale of a time as neighbour has a toddler who DD loves to bits :)
    4. Did pay my parents for the clothes they bought DD, when I thought about it, it was cheaper than paying for childcare and they are both now retired, albeit very wealthily lol
    5. Did a Reverbe of 1p :)
