    Evening again you lovely lot!

I've been a bit distracted for the last few weeks with a ton of writing suddenly coming together - lovely when that happens - and trying to sort out the food intolerance stuff which has been horrid.

So anyway I'm back on board again with my five for Tuesday:

    1. Starting to catch up on posts here again and discovering about all the hearts and flowers activities starting up, and new cars, and Reverbe's £5:T I've still got about ten pages to go, but I've made a start.

    2. Cheese and courgette omelette for supper.

    3. Feeling lots thinner (even if I'm not weighing much less) because I've been wheat free again for a couple of weeks.

    4. Getting the rest of my washing done and dried today.

    5. Making a start on sorting out the under-the-stairs junk ready to take it to recycling/charity. I have three big boxes by the door being filled ready to take by the weekend.

    Sleep peacefully.

    My five are

    1. A lovely walk with my dog watching a kestrel.

    2. Busy day at work but the one hot coffee I managed to drink was needed.

    3. Managed to get to work on time and the pleasure was the lack of traffic as its the school holidays as I left late.

    4. DS2 made it to school by himself as he needed to arrange stuff for his D of E walk next week. He walked a mile or so to a station caught two trains and then met a friend and cycled about 4 miles but up an incredibly steep hill.

    5. Rea from freezer so nice and easy.

    1. Managed to resist the urge to eat lots of chocolate :)
    2. Had a fantastic mid year chat with my boss and my role is changing more than I could have wished for, I told him it was like getting a payrise!
    3. Boss also agreed to me upping my voluntary work with the local school, yippee :)
    4. Had a great chat with a friend and we're planning on meeting up with our girls later in the holidays :)
    5. OH is here :)
    6. A lovely friend came over for dinner with us and I managed to avoid having a Butterflies moment by getting OH to add the chilli flakes this time!!
    7. DD is having a fantastic time with grandparents, and they have kindly bought her some new clothes :) I feel cheeky as I had asked them to and said I would pay them back, but they won't take any money.....
    8. My brother has finally sent me a text in reply to one I sent a while back. Here's hoping there'll be a thawing of relations and he might come down to see us soon, fingers crossed..

    Evening all

As to the comments about accents - I do like a Welsh accent but I'm a bit more partial to a Geordie one myself. As for my accent...well that's a real mishmash - I was born and spent most of my life in Norfolk, however both parents come from Kent/London area. I therefore have a posh Norfolk accent with a twang of London :D Someone once said I sounded like an Australian who'd lived in London for a couple of years

    1) Negotiations for the job are complete and it's mine :j There were no arguments about the money I asked for - and I've got to say I was a bit cheeky :) Now just waiting for the contract to come through so I can hand in my notice. Better go and order that Wonder Woman outfit ;)
    2) Lovely sunny day yesterday
    3) Picking up the car swap and getting to drive through some truly beautiful scenery
    4) Very happy with the above car....bit beefier than the last one and I feel a lot safer. I know it'll be able to handle any weather this winter throws at us
    5) Very quick chat with mum last night - going to ring her again in a bit to let her know the good news about the job
    6) Glad to hear that all of you in rioting areas are safe and sound

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

It seems the default is that everyone sounds like they are Australian!!:rotfl:

Carolyntia - Many, many congratulations on the new job - hope it is challenging but enjoyable.

Now, Ms Sparrer - have you had the date yet????

    1) Busy, busy day in the office - It's nice to be busy again

    2) Courgette cake for breakfast

    3) Took my lunch into work - cottage pie ad salad. I did treat myself to a can of coke though as I was feeling a little sleepy in the afternoon

    4) Almond croissant samples in the office this afternoon (I had two :o)

    5) Chat with my dear friend L on the way home. She starts her new job on Monday and was stressing about it.

    6) Chatted to my dear friend G last night on Skype (he lives in London) about our trip to South Africa in November.

    Nighty night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Yay, well done Carolyntia, fantastic news about the new job :):):)

    1. Day 1 of 'new priorities' in my job following yesterday's review and boy it feels good!
    2. Bought 3 lovely scented candles for £1 in the market :)
    3. Bought a new dustpan for 20p, yay, just what I needed as I broke mine recently and didn't need a new brush to go with it :)
    4. Used some Bo0ts points to buy some toothbrushes, forgot I had points
    5. Popped in to see OH on the way home and ended up staying for a couple of hours and nattering to him and then his parents when they got home from a day out :)
    6. Good chats with DD on the phone, she's coming home tomorrow :)
    7. Doing some housework - need to as the place is a bit of a tip as per usual...., but it does look soooooooo much better when I do it!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Yay Carolyntia! :j Well done, fellow 'Aussie'! ;)

mhagster - ouch, ouch, ouch at your poor finger! I really hope that's less painful by now.

sparrer - I'm so glad your sister's OK. I hope she's had a much more peaceful day today.

I'm struggling a bit with my five - I've been feeling really down today, for no real reason that I can see - I guess that's when this thread is most helpful, though. :)

    1) The six month warranty that came with my new car which means I can get a fault fixed for free. :money: (It's got a loose electrical connection which means the rear windscreen wash keeps going off at random intervals, which is a little distracting. A work colleague has named it 'the OCD Car' as she reckons it has the same symptoms she does! :rotfl:)

    2) I was fiddling around trying to work out how to open the bonnet to refill the windscreen wash and came across a drawer hiding under the driver's seat which contained a copy of the car handbook. I've been looking all over the internet trying to find a copy of the handbook and was coming to the conclusion I'd have to pay, and now I don't have to. :D (The garage that sold me the car told they didn't have the handbook so it looks like they didn't know about the hidden drawer either. :))

    3) The squawking of herring gulls - it's a horrible noise but so evocative that it rarely fails to make me smile.

    4) Another HG tomato is nearly ripe - one more day of sunshine should do it.

    5) Digging a couple of boxes out of my freezer - one for tonight's dinner and one for tomorrow's lunch: I'm determined to get the freezer empty enough to defrost before winter.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
