Enjoy your weekend!

3. Popping into Mr.T on the way home to stock up on wine from the latest promotion they are running. Just had a glass with dinner
4. House to myself as OH out with work friends and DD still at parents for summer holidays
5. More free This Water - OH is loving this promotion as is one of his favourite drinks that I won't normally buy as so expensive
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Rainy days - i'm not sure cleaning out the gutters would be a pleasure for me
Just realised i haven't been here for 2 days

Hello all
My five for today:
1 - DH off to Oop North to see family (back tomorrow afternoon) so a little break to myself. Hate it when he is away for more than a few days but the odd day off is nice! DS off to somewhere visiting a friend. With DH and DS off it means I do not have to look after a lot of family as DD and her BF are very domesticated.
2 - Been shopping first thing in the morning so it is out of the way for the weekend and I can relax.
3 - Friend visited and gave me a gift of 1 lt worm juice from her wormery, great for my plants!
4 - About to go visit a friend and do a bit of crafting with her
5 - Tonight I am invited to an open house with country dancing held in the local church, also there will be snacks so no need to cook AT ALL today!
Have a good weekend all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Friday and Saturday's loveliness:
1. Bumped into a friend and her children whilst out with DD and OH, so we went to the park and had fun
2. The sunshine today
3. Lovely chats with librarians when DD and I went in for her to join the summer reading challenge this morning
4. Cute dog outside the library who just loved his cuddles
5. Picnic in the sunshine on a local village green, being serenaded by a swing band, couldn't have planned a nicer lunchtime
6. Finally got rid of the car boot full of books and DD's old clothes to a friendly charity shop
7. Tree surgeon is booked in to sort out very overgrown tree and I can mentally split his payment between this month and next's salary as he's coming the day before payday.....phew!!
8. Quietish work day yesterday, nice to end the week like that!
9. Watching Total Wipeout with DD and having lots of cuddles
10. 'Naughtily' eating dinner in the sitting room
11. Got the washing dry
12. Fascinating chat with a lovely elderly gentleman who shared our bench at the picnic for a while.
13. Did a survey this morning, looking forward to receiving the luncheon vouchers
14. We all resisted the urge to spend money that OH and I haven't got and didn't go out for dinner last night!0 -
Evening all,
I thoroughly pee-ed off with the dealership who is selling me my car. They are so cheeky. When I agreed to buy the car a few days ago I asked at least 3 times to see the terms and conditions of their finance pack to see if it was suitable for me. They kept being evaisive but said I should come in today to sign the paperwork. Anyway I trundled down there this morning (30 minute drive) and they kept me waiting for nearly half and hour, and then showed me the documentation... hurrumph! £99 arrangement fee and £225 completion fee!! So that's £324 before the interest!!! :mad:Then I noticed that they had the wrong price for the car. When I challenged them on it, they said "oh we just rounded it up. We're not going to fall out over £10 are we?" Err... I think we are!!! :mad:They they told me that they don't accept credit cards as they get charged interest on the payments... !!!!!!??? interest??? I appreciate there are charges but interest? Annoyingly now I have to find the cash to pay for the car which is distinctly inconvenient.
Anyway, the CEO of the company will be getting an email expressing my displeasure.
1) Popped into see my oldest DB and FSIL and my gorgeous nephew.
2) Hearing my nephew giggling ecstatically when his feet were tickled
3) I made some courgette fritters which were nice. They do need a dip or something to go with them but I am not sure what would be best.
4) Getting an email from my friend who lives in deepest darkest north Wales. It contained some very sad news about his brother unfortunately but it was still nice to hear from him.
5) Am getting ready to go out tonight in that there Londontown with my youngest brother's exgirlfriend who used to live opposite us when we were growing up. I won't know anyone there but hopefully it will be fun.
Nighty night all.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
Ladyhawk - I just can't believe the attitude of the dealership - in your position I think I'd be strongly considering telling them they could keep the flippin' car. As for the courgette fritters - would something like sweet chilli sauce / jam work as a dip?
VJsmum - I hope you get to go to the conference - I've always wanted to visit Cape Town but don't imagine I'll get the chance to go there for work (the furthest I've got to go in this job is Winchester - not exactly an exotic trip from Portsmouth!).
annem - that poor kid - I have enough trouble with people spelling my name correctly, and it's only three letters - she hasn't got a hope!
I've been feeling hopelessly CBA today and can't say I've done much of anything.
1) Looong lie-in this morning, which was lovely even if I've paid for it by feeling headachey and tired all day.
2) My favouritest breakfast this morning - smoked salmon (yellow stickied) on HM granary bread.:drool::drool:
3) Cleaned the bathroom basin with limescale remover, which it's needed for some time. I love how shiny it all looks afterwards.
4) Picked a mini selection pack of veggies from the garden - two pea pods, one French bean and a cherry tomato. (That's not going to go far even for a one-person household, is it? :rotfl:)
5) Sipping my cheap bottle of cider while typing this - it's not bad but I don't think I'd pay full price for it.
Have a lovely Saturday evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening everyone!
5 for today
1. Finishing a library book, that I have been unable to put down.Although the subject matter of the book is quite disturbing. I feel it is a luxury spending time in a library.
2.Using my £50 voucher that I won for the local "Calendar Girls" competition . I posed with a hen and a feed scoop covering my modesty wearing only a pair of wellies!;) I treated my sister to have an Indian Head Massage whilst I had a pedicure using the voucher and a paid a small amount on top. My sister really needed this as she suffers from rheumatoid athritis or "Arthur" as we call it and this relaxed her knotted shoulder muscles .It was nice to be able to do this for her.
3. Hens thinking the nail varnish on my toes were some kind of berry and were mesmerised by them.
4. Using a 9p curry sauce for tea tonight. Tried to hide this fact from OH by covering the jar with a cloth but as soon as he walked in he said "its not that cheap one is it?"-but ate the lot anyway:rotfl:
5.Watching Harry Potter on the tv now with popcorn that my Mum brought over today.
Hope everyone has a good evening:):AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Ladyhawk - why are you being charged for finance??? Effectively there shouldn't be a charge and there are quite a few 0% interest deals about at the moment. Frankly I would tell them to shove it! We told Guy Salmon where to go and we have never bought another Land Rover from them since. Their loss and certainly not ours!
1. Sorting out the horses and watching them in the field grooming one another. That was so lovely to see. They are very good friends with one another and they really do enoy each others company.
2. Taking the horse rugs in to be washed ready for winter which will save me having to buy new rugs in October!
3. Insuring the car and noting it had gone down by another £50.00 this year :T
4. Getting the bed stripped and washed, out on the line and dry. Another two loads are going in tonight for pegging out tomorrow.
5. Sitting on here and having a read through all your wonderful posts! I enjoy that.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
