Quickly before i go to work.
Carolyntia - wish my daughter would heed your signature, though she did do the ironing yesterday to earn money for something she wanted rather than spend her birthday money
Mummysaver - glad you are on the mend.

    Mine for yesterday

    1. 5 mile run and coped well - still got 5 weeks to build up to the full 13 - it's not long enough but i won't panic yet
    2. Family afternoon out to local park - even DD came with us, that doesn't happen often
    3. Beautifully cooked roast lamb for tea - well braised in some red wine. Lovely and tender (if i say so myself )
    4. watching HFW rerun of river cottage - i am quite late to the river cottage thing and so it's good to be able to watch an old series i missed
    5. Phone call with my lovely sis and arranged to go and see her later on in the week.

Have a good day all - i gotta run

    1.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

mummysaver Hope it was just a one off & glad you are okay...enjoy your rest in hospital knowing that your friends are looking after kids for you. Take care x

1.Plucked up courage & asked customer (whos' house I had been invited to a few weeks ago for Thermomix demo) and her friend (who moved 5 months ago from UK) if they fancied going out for a coffee one night....they did & we will next week! Told them I didn't want to come across like a stalker! It is so hard when you have lots of friends back home to have no true ones here! No-one I would confide in & laugh with & moan to.....save that up for my weekly phone calls back home. So it will be nice!

2.Drove home in the rain so had a guilt free bath!

3.Reading a good book! Only get a chance when I'm in the bath....when I read at bedtime I manage about 2 sentences before I fall asleep.

4.DD1 made ravioli & pasta sauce for dinner.

5.had to buy a gift for one of young girls at work's 21st. So managed to get a nice pair of earrings with 20% off.

eta carolyntia: have a great birthday xx

Mummysaver so pleased you're able to go home, thank God for the NHS and your amazing family of friends, rallying when you needed them :D

Carolyntia hope you're having _party_ :j Super Birthday :j _party_ and you get all you wish for, and more
Ladyhawk I wouldn't give your dealer the time of day until you hear back from HO. Some car sales co's really do take the biscuit, fingers x'd it works out in your favour
mhags I so understand your #3 - I call reading in bed my sleeping pill. It takes me weeks to get through a book

    1. Exercise class this morning, an hour's free fun and laughter ;)
    2. Got results back from breast screening - all clear :T. One down two to go
    3. Coupon for a bag of crisps - they're pretty yuk but lo next door will be happy :D
    4. Called into the farm shop on my way out, they had a beautiful bunch of peachy coloured gladdies for £1.50 which I bought for DD. Flowers are always reduced after the weekend, and I have to pass there every Monday :)
    5. Next door neighbour has taken down her old garden shed to put a new, smaller one in its place. There's a lot more sunlight on my 'orchard' patio now :D

Enjoy the rest of the day

    Evening all.

    Important first things first:

Carolyntia - a very happy birthday to you!

mummysaver - I hope you're safely back home by now.

I apologise that tonight's post isn't a very cheery one - I found out late this afternoon that I've got to attend an informal interview at work because I've been ill a couple of times this year (you're allowed 5 days sick in any 12 month period before you're required to justify why the company should continue to employ you when you've been inconsiderate enough to be unwell  (you may gather that this policy isn't well liked in the office! ;))). I'm not sure whether to be nervous or cross about the interview tomorrow - the only good thing is that my manager thinks it's a complete waste of everyone's time, too.

    Anyway, thinking positively:

    1) NSD, except for the bus fare to work this morning. (I thought it might be nice to walk home in the sunshine, which didn't quite go according to plan...)

    2) Got home just before it started raining really hard - I got damp, but no worse than that.

    3) LO bean and squash stew for lunch today - it always tastes better the second day, too.

    4) Thai prawn curry for dinner tonight, made with HG chard and special offer curry sauce. :money:

    5) The prospect of an early night tonight - I've been feeling tired and headachey all day. :(

I hope everyone else has had a better day than I've had. :o
Back after a very long break!

sparrer-glad to here that your test results were clear!

CCP-re the work sickness interview -just grit your teeth and think about ponies , banoffi pie or the bloke out of Prison Break. It would work for me;)

Carolyntia-I hope that you are having a good one:)

    5 for today

    1. The beautiful weather not too hot, just right.

    2. Loretta hen lying next to me in sunshine. She thinks I am a chicken.

3 . Picking more blackberries to top up the rest in the freezer.

    4. Finding what I think was a big mushroom that I picked from the garden and using in the Nasi Goreng tonight. If I don't post again you will know why:rotfl:

    5. Friends called and are coming over tommorrow evening . I will be looking after my neice and nephew tommorrow who will be encourged/bribed in to making a vegan ginger cake for them - sounds rough but it is lovely.

Have a good evening everyone x

    Evening

Sparrer - Glad test results were all clear, fingers crossed for the others

    Pleasures for today
    1. Made apple cupcakes/muffins this morning to use up some more of the cooking apples off FIL. Went down well at work.
    2. Remembered to take lunch to work with me
    3. Stocked up on toiletries in boots as the shower gel DD likes and the deodarant OH likes were on offer for £1. Also bought some No.17 make up on a little glitch to put away as a present.
    4. Simple but very tasty dinner of Spag Bol for dinner with enough left over for me to have for lunch tomorrow
    5. Lovely chat with my neice on the way home from work. I know you shouldn't have favourites but :p

Hugs to all who need them
