    Evening

    Sparrer - Hope today wasn't too ouchy:eek:
House Elf - Hugs to you and your family what a terrible thing to happen

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Walked to work this morning and home again this evening so no bus fares
    2. Lovely left overs for lunch
    3. Paying some money into my savings account that my mum had for me for things I had bought for her. Hadn't realised how much it had built up so a pleasant suprise and will cover the cost of a new bike when I find one.
    4. Another pile of ironing done this morning and a few things tidied away
    5. Freebie (low spend) bottle of This Water for OH which he loves but I will not normally buy as too expensive

Hugs to all who need them

house elf I'm so, so sorry to hear your news, my heart goes out to the family. I thank God my own son grew out of motorbikes a couple of years ago. I'll add the lads family, and you and your son, in my prayers tonight

Thank you ladies, this afternoon's little 'pleasure' wasn't quite as uncomfortable as the last few, either the nurse was more experienced or one just gets used to it!

    1. Up at 8am, breakfast in the garden. Strange how I miss the LO next door going off to school with a cheery 'good morning' over the fence, now it's school holidays
    2. Got the last of the bedding plants in, the garden looks so pretty and colourful now. Found all my snow drop bulbs in a corner, the friends who helped me tidy up outside a couple of weeks ago must have thought the cauldron of soil was just growing weeds, and emptied it out! Will give me something to do out there tomorrow, weather permitting
    3. As above, went for the regular mammo. Not a pleasure in itself but another medal for our NHS
    4. Got a couple of super library books, looking forward to an early night so I can start on them. Free library service is wonderful!
    5. NSD considering 3 and 4 above I think I've had pretty good value from my day!

    Night night, sleep tight

House Elf - I'm so sorry to hear about your sons friend....so tragic at such a young age
sparrer - glad to hear the scan went well...and I'll second you on the free library service
Frith - Glad to hear you had a great time and that you're going on another date :D another MrB...we'll be inundated soon ;). I tried to look at your photo but it came up as currently unavailable :o
chickenopolis - your bread and butter pudding sounds lush
newbies - welcome to the thread

    1) HR woman from the interview last week rang - said they thought I was a bit over qualified for the job - however the client has asked her to put together a new job spec for me - seems I impressed someone :D - hopefully I'll get that tomorrow...will keep you posted
    2) Quick chat with my mum to keep her up to date on the above
    3) Very busy day at work....time went so quickly today
    4) Very nice pork chop for dinner
    5) Remembering to get something out of the freezer for tomorrows dinner :o
    6) Impressive weather - I didn't actually know you could get sea fog and torrential rain at the same time

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

    Good afternoon all!

House elf, what dreadful news, yours and your friends familly are in my prayers xxx

Many thanks for all the good wishes on Spud's arrival, was very touched to become one of the five good things (sorry can't recall who it was, nappy brain appears not to have been relegated to pregnancy!). She is lovely and sweet and everything I could wish for, the children can't get enough of her :)

My five for yesterday/today so far:

    1. Being woken by Spud giggling to herself this morning!

    2. Friend dropping in yesterday to sneak a quick cuddle with Spud, and to tell me that he has been offered the job he has wanted for ever! I am so pleased for him, he has been through a lot in the past few years and really deserves some good things.

    3. Lovely takeaway for dd2's birthday yesterday, was sort of OS, as I had frozen leftovers from last time, so we used those up and the takeaway was cheaper!

    4. Glorious sunshine, so washing all on line :)

    5. Picked strawbs. courgettes and beetroot this morn, loads of raspberries, toms and swwetcorn ripening, and beans full of flowers. Raised beds look like they'll repay the cost of buying them this year!

Have a good day all! xxx

grrr another lost post! had tried to post a photo but computer said no!

House elf: thoughts are with you & your son & his friend's family. Take care.

Now going to quickly give my pleasures as it's bedtime out here!

1.Good sleep, woke up at a decent time!

    2. Finished work a bit earlier, got to enjoy the sunshine. 22o today....this is winter!

3.Saw loads of cockatoos today ...about 200 swirling above me as I walked to work from carpark. Tried to post a photo of sulphur crested cockatoos.

4.Had a wee lie down when I got in & finished a book I was reading.

    5. PTA meeting tonight . Had a bit of a laugh as well as getting the business done!

Have a good day. Off to bed!

House elf- so sorry to hear of your loss. How dreadful for all concerned ((Hugs))

    5 pleasures for today

    1. Received Mr. T vouchers in post which I have turned into "rewards" to take my family out for a meal.

2.The "moneyless man" book arrived in the post today. I have just started reading it. I love a new book.

    3. Looked after my Mums dog "Miss Barker" whilst she went out for a meal with my uncle. As "Miss Barker" will howl constantly if she goes out for too long ( I know this as I live next door!!).

    4. Potatoes from the garden for tea tonight . Nearly wrote "Spuds" but this would sound like I had eaten the aforementioned baby :)

    5. Three lots of washing dried on line in this glorious weather . Nice clean sunny smelling sheets tonight. I did drop a pillow case on the grass , this will end up on OH's side of the bed:):)

Have a good evening everyone x

    Evening all.

house elf - I'm so sorry to hear your dreadful news. My thoughts are with everyone involved.

    1) A man from the letting agency came round to fix a leaking outlet pipe and sorted out my garden gate when I asked, too. :A I've been asking the letting agency to fix the gate for weeks - as I suspected it would, it took him all of 30 seconds to do what was necessary. smiley-rolleyes007.gif

    2) I had to come home to let the repair man in so I got to spend my lunch hour sitting on my sofa looking at my garden. :)

    3) Thinned out my HG lettuces, which I deliberately left until they were big enough for the thinnings to go in a salad.

    4) Halloumi-stuffed peppers for dinner - I'm starting to develop a real love of halloumi.

    5) Only one more day at work this week as I've got Friday off. :j

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

oh naughty Chickenopolis, your No 5! (I'd do exactly the same ;))
CCP I tried to grow cut and come again lettuces, they got to about 1/4" tall then all withered. Think I overwatered them
Carolyntia sorry, but not, iyswim, about you being overqualified for the position. Someone said that to me once, mind you I was going for a temp housekeeping job between usual career positions. Hope the one they put together is going to be of interest to you :)

    1. Planned a lie-in but the phone rang at 6.30, typically a wrong number. However it got me out of bed so got lots of niggly little chores done before breakfast. Can't belive how they mount up so quickly!
    2. Planted the snowdrops again, and stuck a marker in the pot!
    3. Cleared what was left of the old plastic greenhouse after two years of it being torn, blown over, bowed, and generally not strong enough to stand up to normal use. It seemed a good idea at the time! The corner looks a lot neater, now I just need to decide what I'm going to fill it with ;)
    4. Postie brought me a canvas which I bought through kgbdeals, a gorgeous (well I think so :p) picture of my son which cost £8 rather than £44, and a voucher for another one at the reduced price :T
    5. Was going to book a manicure on Friday but did it myself this afternoon, saved myself £10 :D

    Night night, sweet dreams
