Good night all x
There was no money in the jeans but it was also several years ago..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Afternoon all!
Been MIA in action for a while due to pooter probs and then the early arrival of Spud! Yep the small pinky made her debut just over 3 weeks ago, speedy arrival but we did manage to get to the hospital! She is gorgeous and tiny and generally scrumptious, and thoroughly loved and cuddled by everyone!
My five for today:
1. Cuddles with Spud
2. dd1 and dd3 doing extra chores voluntarily, so house is looking very tidy, especially considering it's the school hols!
3. Best friend popping in for a cuppa on his way to work - would like to think he'd come to see how I was, but think a Spud cuddle was the main attraction!
4. Sun has appeared after a grey start, so will be able to get washing out on the line when it's done, I love the smell of line dried washing!
5. Looking forward to hm Chinese tonight, we're all cooking together, except for dd2 who is at her friend's birthday party, but she doesn't like Chinese much, so it's a good opportunity lol!
Hope everyone has a lovely day xxxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
My pleasures:
1. The cayenne pepper I grew has finally produced fruit and trying one, it is actually nice and hot!
2. Got a nice workout done.
3. Managed to get my car nice and close to the garage door.
4. The cleaning has been done.
5. Ditto the ironing.

Feeling MUCH more positive this weekend...
Morning spent gardening - am now a bit smug because it looks good!
Listened to a variety of radio programmes in the garden via a combination of new wireless headphones and 'listen again'
Vegetable samosas and pear cider for lunch. Fantastic, and who cares about calories!
Dozing in the sun this afternoon (maybe too much pear cider!). Feel warm and relaxed.
Have been inspired by the MSE mortgage free wannabee thread. There's a calculator that shows how much you can save in interest even by making small overpayments.
...and the weather forecast for tomorrow is good, so anticipating another great day.0 -
Hello everyone,
I hope you are all having a great weekend
6 pleasures so far today
1.Having my hair cut , I can now see out of my fringe and do not look like "cousin it" !I am trying to stretch each appointment to 7 weeks and this really is my limit before it gets out of control.
2. Picked up a few bargains in Mr. T .
3. Trying to put sunscreen on one of the hens who has a completely bald back. She was not impressed and it ended in a Benny Hill type chase round the garden.Got it done though:)
4. My work colleagues came over , we sat in the sun and chatted and laughed for hours. One of them brought me over a tomato plant in exchange for some eggs.
5. Enjoyed a yellow stickered curry for tea.
6. "Solved" my Mum's crossword . She had completed it except for one question , which was driving her round the twist.
Have a good evening everyone x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all,
What a lovely, relaxing day!
1) Got up early and popped to Sainsbugs... manged to get some good deals, despite being too early for yellow stickies.
2) Made 9 pots of jam... though I think that I am going to have to reboil the strawberry ones as they dont seem to have set.
3) Baked courgette cake, courgette muffins and chocolate courgette cake (even though I dont eat chocolate) as the oven was on to sterilise the jam jars
4) Made some carrot soup to use up some carrots that were lurking. It would have been better if I had baked some bread as well...
5) Delish supper of a bottle of fizzy rose, followed by yummy lamb steak, mashed potato, broad beans and courgette from the garden.
6) Sorted and tidied bedroom
Nighty night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
I'm doing this to try to banish negative ways of thinking about my finances.
1) going back to bed with cups of tea & coffee & lounging watching T.V. for an hour, 'cos the dogs were at my MiL's and I didn't need to get up.
2) Getting a Gas & Leccy bill with the monthly Direct Debit halved after a frugal year finally appears to have paid off.
3) Cleaning the battered old caravan, and starting to look forward to going back to the caravan site for an O.S. low key holiday.
4) Bumping into a long abandoned ex-SiL in the town centre and getting on so well with her that we stood & talked for 3/4 of an hour.
5) Watering my garden this evening, and daring to think that quite a bit of work on it looks to be paying off.

Exhausting day but achieved lots, including taking DM home, a round trip which took almost 6 hours insteasd of the usual 3. Weekend M-way drivers
1. Because the traffic was regulated to 50mph for long stretches I used 1/2 tank petrol instead of ther usual 3/4
2. Stripped the bedding, got the first load in the machine, then dried in the evening sun
3. Moved the patio pear to a sunnier spot - must remember to move giant pots before I water them in future
4. Mowed the lawn, seeded and watered well in the vain hope the bare patches will grow over before I have visitors next weekend. Wishful thinking!
5. Emptied the fridge, cleaned it out and replaced everything neatly. Amazing how many 'bits' I've accumulated in a week
6. Picked lots of blackberries and there are loads more ripening
an exciting 7, for me. The basket of Tumbling Toms I've been watching, talking to, feeding and nurturing for the past 3 months has got tiny, tiny tomatoes growing at last! :j
Night night, sweet dreams

Congratulations, Mummysaver! Hope all is going well. :-)
5 or so for today (Saturday).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Cleaned the bathroom and had a general tidy up.
3) Went to brother's with some scraps for the pigs.
4) Went on a date! A nice bloke, but not for me. :-)
5) Went on to my friend's afterwards for a curry.
6) The boys were supposed to be staying from this morning until Tuesday tea time at their father's (he hasn't seen them much this year). But got a grumpy phone call from him at 8.30pm to say smaller son wouldn't stop crying so I went to pick him up. So he is asleep in my bed. Good to know he is back safely. Bigger son is sticking it out, don't know if he will make it the whole 4 days.
7) Text from other date man about Monday.
8) Ah yes, meant to say after picking son up, my friend (who made me the curry for tea) came back to my house for a cup of tea.
9) Might watch Casualty on iplayer in a minute.0 -
grrr! just lost a post!
well was far too tired to type last night so here are Saturday's pleasures on a beautiful Sunday morning!
1.woke up early ...drat! However, it meant I had time to phone my mum & my niece without it being too late for them.
2.went to a 'Thermomix ' demonstration at customers house. This is an amazing piece of kitchen equipment, I had never heard of it before but you can google it! It made the most delicious food in literally minutes. However, the prohibitive price means I won't be getting one any time soon! Nice morning spent seeing that & in good company (and free food....always a bonus!)
3.Home & straight back out with OH & kids to do late lunch & shopping. Picked DD1 up from sleepover & then had to take her back out later & then pick her up (well OH did!)
4.Had a good phone call with friend from home, caught up on her holiday news.
5.After dropping of DD1, Oh & I went to the cinema. Saw 'Bad Teacher' hmmmmmmm....alright I suppose! Not great. I think we had seen all the funniest bits in the trailer!
6.seeing mummysaver back here! Congratulations on your new baby! May she bring you all much happiness!
However, I had intended to be up early this morning & I actually managed to have a lie in! so that's an extra pleasure!0
