Thursday
1. One from yesterday - free meal at Nandos courtesy of relative of flatmate who said they would pay for us to go out for a meal. made me moneys worth on the bottomless drinks alone - as knocked my first one over accidentally and had about 5 large glasses in the end.. tho I did notice the portions seemed smaller than last time we went a couple of years ago.Got the loyalty card stamped I had found on the floor in the street many moons ago and not only is next time half a chicken free time.. staff pointed out the person didnt cash in the 1/4 chicken so if they are nice like the waiter/greeter was they may let me have the 1/4 chicken free too..(they arent really meant to as you have to take them in order)
2. 1 quid blueberries for lunch (mr T offer)
3. free Essentials mag and Trial lipstick from Boots in post
4. flat to self in evening - so going to finish off the last Harry Potter
5. Mr T bargains - YS bananas, new potatoes and mushrooms (dinner on toast tonight)
6. CS M&S long sleeved top for winter dirt cheap on sale rail
7. biscotti tin and large barrel tupperware from recyclng bin..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Evening all
1) Interview went very well - felt very comfy and think I answered everything to their satisfaction - when it came to the end I got to ask some questions - first one was easy for them to answer but then I asked about the repair on a system they were doing - they wanted to know how I'd found out about it as it had never been reported- the majority of the job is information gathering so I like to think that impressed. There's only me and one other being interviewed so I should hear very soon
2) Still on the healthy eating plan - although I was tempted to go for fish and chips tonight
3) NSD
4) Lovely sunny morning
5) Free sausage rolls in the office
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
CAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Evening all.
Carolyntia - I'm glad the interview went well - my fingers are crossed for you!
ampersand - you're probably long gone by now, but have a safe trip and we look forward to hearing from you when and if we hear from you.
1) I took my last antibiotic tablet last night and, now they're finished, I had a whole day without a headache today. :j
2) A member of staff in the chemist told me I was a nice customer - all I did was ask if she was OK because she looked rather down.
3) My sister sent me a text to confirm she's coming to stay this weekend - that's best part of two days' notice, which must be a record.(Last time I got a phone call when she arrived, asking me where she should park.)
4) I really didn't feel like cooking tonight and was very relieved that I've got into the habit of keeping ready-made meals in the freezer - all I had to do was cook some pasta to go with the meatballs and sauce.
5) It's Friday tomorrow! (This hasn't been the best week, what with one thing and another!)
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening
Sparrer - Belated birthday wishes
Mhagster - Hugs to you
Ampersand - Safe journey and be kind to yourself
Have been at my parents in the North East for a couple of days so here are a few pleasures:
1. Travelled 1st class both ways on a very cheap deal. Nice to travel without being cramped and with a vodka thrown in for free on the way back. Bacon butty going
2. Lovely day out to Raby Castle and High Force. I sometimes forget what a lovely part of the world I grew up in. The country side was beautiful.
3. Lovely meal out with parents plus 2 for 1
4. Few walks with the dog and doggy cuddles
5. More sponsorship money for Sunwalk
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all
Mine for today
1. Waking up to sunshine, cant remember the last time....
2. Got all my cleaning done first thing so I could spend the rest of the day enjoying myself with the kids.
3. Library this morning for free craft, kids made cat masks and all 3 signed up for the reading challenge. Need to read 3 lots of 2 books and they get a certificate and a prize at the end.
4. Art gallery this afternoon and kids made 3d castles. Was really good, the best one yet.
5. Few whoopsies in Mr A, had to go in for thermos which was cheaper than elsewhere (felt guilty today with hubby driving a long distance without anything when he was tired) and got a few half price balls and outdoor games for kids. :T
and 6. As we are at my sisters tomorrow we had fakeout night tonight.0 -
ampersand- I will miss your posts, you write beautifully.Safe journey:)
Reverbe-where is this recycling bin please?? Its magic- or you must have picked up a tip or two from that Harry Potter . All the recycling bins around here just have old cat food tins in them.
5 for today:-
1. Loads of washing dried on line.Brought this in just in time, as someone in the neighbourhood had lit an acrid bonfire.
2. Picked more blackberries from the garden , then added these (once washed) to the others that I have frozen in order accumulate enough to make a decent crumble. My uncle also uses blackberries to make blackberry Vodka. May go out foraging tommorrow to get some for him.
3. Reduced pain killers to a sensible amount that my body can handle. 1 tablet as opposed to the prescribed 8.
4. Cooked a roast. OH and Mum had lamb. I do not like lamb so I had a quorn lasagne with all the usual veg that accompanies a roast. This just felt wrong .My Nan used to boil a pig's or sheep head for my grandad and she used to chase me around the kitchen with a sheep or pigs eye in her hand laughing her head off. I have never touched lamb or pork since, can't think why:rotfl:
5. Made a "tweaked" version of Weezles chocolate brownies . Didn't have a bar of chocolate so used cocoa powder and butter instead of oil. It was so nice I ate half of it with custard:)
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
hi all,
1. Going for a lunchtime walk in the sunshine with a workmate - with the aim of losing some weight - and having a good chat on the way.
2. Lunch walk meant my lunch when we got back tasted even better.
3. Lunch walk meant no spending
4. Sainsbugs delivery was early (but I was in) - and it was ALL THERE! no subs.
5. Walking home and discovering a new charity shop - poshed up one with poshed up price but some bits weren't too bad.
6. Making more meringues - never realised how easy they were as I was always put off by the cooking time.
7. OH gone fishing and has caught mackerel - first time in many years he's gone and he sounded excited. We both love fish and he will gut them as he worked on a fish counter in his youth, so that's fine
8. A lovely peaceful evening with the TV to myself - catching up on Chinese food made easy and the laptop to myself. Love hubby, but love to have some "me" time too.
9. Meal plan from my sainsbug shop looks like I have spent half my budget but got 22 days main meals. So hopefully will do better this month, but won't hold my breath.
10. Tomorrow's Friday!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all,
Carolyntia - glad the interview went well... is it a job that you really want? (strange question I know!) Where will you be based? Will you have to live in Spain?
1) Drinks with my dear friend L after work (she was paying)
2) Rave reviews for my courgette muffins.
3) Our head of PR invited me to join her and her team for a lunch after the holidays to say thank you for all the support that I have given her team and she is going to tell the big boss about all the things I work on them with.
4) Took my camera into the independant camera shop next to my office. I think that we have finally worked out why it is so temperamental... and they didn't charge me.
5) Lunch with several colleagues which was very pleasant.
Still no news on the job in Oz. Grrrrr!!!!!
Night all... I'm working from home tomorrow... YIPPEE!
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
5 for today (Thursday).
1) Builders worked hard all day and there is now an oak beam over the fireplace. :-)
2) Boys good especially considering we are now living in my bedroom!
3) Made quite a nice lunch.
4) Took bigger son for his ultrasound and everything is fine. :-)
5) My brother looked after smaller son and he enjoyed it. (Well, son did, presumably brother survived!)
6) Had chips for tea.
7) Went to a really marvellous evening run by the local council (I used to work for them). It was "Survival Skills" and was quite simple, but good fun. About 20 of us went to the nature reserve, all made shelters (in little teams) then built fires. Then we cooked sausages. To top the evening, Team Treemania (i.e me and sons) won for the best shelter and fire! :-D0 -
Another late night with DM, I don't know how she does it!
1. Vac'd through, got washing on the line and had a shower by 8.30am!
2. Sat out in the garden with DM for our breakfast, neighbours both sides in their gardens too so a very sociable morning
3. Went to the next village for milk but their delivery hadn't arrived, so waited til we went out this afternoon and got it at the supermarket for 15p less
4. DS sent me some lovely photos of himself but in png format when I needed jpeg. Worked out without asking how to convert them!
5. Out to dinner with friends, had a super meal and fun evening, as usual in their company
Hugs, night night (or perhaps it should be good morning!) sweet dreams
