Sorry to hear about your mum's neighbour, MHagster. My mum and dad lost their neighbour earlier this year and we had known him for 30 years.0
-
CCP I had to have it at that price as I had never had it before. Got quite a bit for your money too - more than I would have expected.. given that it was a fiver all in including a Guinness which must have been about 3.70 or so if not more. I bet it wasnt the best couple of bits were a tad chewy but still really enjoyed it.Made me feel quite posh for a pre match meal lol Usually have a bag of crisps and a HM buttyWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Evening all,
I feel a little sleepy tonight - though have to bake some cakes tonight...maybe I'll have a snooze first...
1) Went to a pig farm today. The pigs were so friendly - they kept rubbing against my legs and pushing me over! The piglets were also so cute. I'm glad I don't eat pork...
2) Being out of the office in the (not so) fresh air
3) NSD - The supplier took us out for a yummy pub lunch - I had a very nice smoked fish platter followed by fresh mint tea.
I think I'll hae to come back for my last 2...
See you all later!

Hiya
Mine for today:
1. Getting all the cleaning done and beds aired first thing this morning with dd's help
2. free 'row row row your boat' at the museum, kids made boats out of yoghurt pots.
3. Popped to tesco to get cheese offer and kids uniforms so used £5 voucher and nearly all sorted for back to school
4. Kids made felt boats at the art gallery, again free, this afternoon.
5. Spag bol for tea packed with lots of veg and kids ate it all with not one single moan!!!! :rotfl:0 -
Good evening all.
mhagster - I'm very sorry to hear of your sad loss.
Frith - I'm glad you've got your new lentil sorted out.CCP ... Can you not return to your car peeps and show them what has happened so soon? - any chance of goodwill anything there?
Now why didn't I think of that? Sadly it didn't work - they argued, not unreasonably, that a cracked windscreen can happen at any time and I've just been unlucky that it's happened so soon after I bought the car - but at least I tried.
1) Spoke to a very nice man from the well-known windscreen repair company, who arranged for my windscreen to be replaced on Monday and assured me it was unlikely to be dangerous in the meantime.
2) I bought a pair of bathroom scales two months ago and they've died already.I took them back to the shop, expecting an argument, and they gave me a new set of scales without any quibble at all. :T
3) Followed a link on the MSE freebie page and ordered a free sample of cat food for the mog. :money:
4) Had my favourite query of the year so far at work - one of our contractors wanted to know if his 'fee' was the payment for his services. I've been thinking about it ever since and can't come up with any other interpretation of the word 'fee'.
5) Picked my first HG lettuce of the year for dinner.
6) A friend texted me to let me know her daughter had given birth to her second son. Given the amount of trouble the poor girl had with her first - they nearly lost mother and baby at one stage - that's a real :j
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
sparrer - glad to hear you had a great birthday _party_
mhagster - sorry for your loss
CCP - at least you tried to haggle about the car - no harm in trying
1) Relatively busy day at work
2) Lovely sausages for dinner
3) Still sticking to the healthy eating plan
4) Interview tomorrow which I'm really looking forward to - I'm a glutton for punishment
5) Lovely chats with my mum and best friend
6) Neighbour had kindly looked after a delivery for me
7) The above was my snuggies that I've order in preparation for winter
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

Evening
I have been MIA for the last few days but today I enjoyed:- A long lie
- Visit to the library
- Reading in my garden in glorious sunshine
- Tidying and cleaning various areas of my home
- Eating dinner alone with my OH
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I will be concise:rotfl:, ready for bed.
1. Saw farm verges on village outskirts had been mown, but someone had carefully gone round one small patch of common wildflowers.
2. I'm eating a fruit/seed/nut mix to accompany black tea and am ignoring the choc. which I was intending to consume. No idea why the choc now strikes wrong note, but the mix is scrummy.
3. Just one butterfly today...spent over 3hrs on pillowcase on line. I've only just brought everything in.
4. Went into town for new headlight bulb[don't want Plod/Clouseau to have any excuse for stopping me]and was sold wrong one:mad:. Shop used to shut at 5. I tore back[nearly 10 past] - luckily they were delayed in closing, unloading some stock. Different chap v. apologetic, came out and changed bulb for me.
5. Managed to fold tent/sleeping mat, down and away sans signfiicant angst.
6. I love the sublime humour of the Pickerskill series on R4, in fact you need to catch up on e'thg between 10.45 and noon today:D[Little Ottleys absolutely and Gyles Brandreth on teddy bears:

I'm leaving it at that - things troubling.....

Ampersand-;) you are right the Opinel is a thing of beauty, and will not end up in his shed , in his toolbox ,thats for sure. I will have to hide it in my knicker drawer or make-up bag ( note to self... to take it out of make- up bag before going through Rien a Declare). No sign of the white "finch" today, I hope it makes it.
Mhagster- sorry to hear of your loss.
Sparrer- it sounds as though you had a lovely birthday:T
Pleasures for today, not many I am afraid
1. Buy 3 get 2 free cheese at Mr. T.
2. Nice messages from my work colleagues.
Nothing more really as g.p has prescribed strong pain killers. Feeling "comfortably numb" , a junior aspirin would floor me . Feels like I am typing with boxing gloves on at the moment and I could drink the Solway dry. Not good
good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Well... I've come back for my final two from today...
Firstly... Good luck for your interview Carolyntia.
4) Whipped up a batch of courgette muffins/ cupcakes to use up the courgettes I picked today...
5) which were 900g, 1.6kg and 1.96kg respectively!!!!!! unfortunately the muffins/ cupcakes only used up 350g. Caterina - any suggestions on what to do with them, then please let me know! I am going to take some to work on Monday to sell to raise money for my Sunwalk. And I stuffed one for supper.
Nighty night - I have a load of washing up to do...
