Bonjour tout le monde
Yup, Kittikins can't sleep again.....*sigh* Sorry I missed you Ampersand, and bon voyage xx
Recent pleasures from my blissful holiday, really don't want to leave and go back to everyday life on Sunday
1. Loving and feeling loved with DD and OH
2. The weather's perking up, it'll probably be amazing by the time we go back home lol
3. I've cooked nice meat meals for OH (I've been pescetarian for 30 years and so it's always a bit of a gamble when I cook meat, lol). He's been very appreciative of my efforts thank goodness! No more 'Butterflies' moments thank goodness!!
4. DD managed to avoid a meltdown last night when we went out for dinner far too late, poor darling is sooooo tired but happy after all our fun days
5. We had a long drive to a fantastic monkey sanctuary yesterday, amazingly beautiful and clever creatures and the place was very well set up.
6. Managed to borrow a wheelchair at monkey place so OH saw it all in style and DD cadged a ride from time to time!
7. Yummy cheap bottle of creme de cassis
8. OH brought up the subject of where we could holiday next year!!More than happy to plan that far ahead
Right, time to go back to bed0 -
Hello! Well...what a day!
I had just parked car at work & was crossing the road, nipped across before a girl on a motor scooter passed by....next think I heard THUMP! She had been knocked off bike by a car further up the road. I ran as fast as my wee legs would run. Anyway.....long story cut shorter....I was first repsponder, phoned ambulance service ...the operator was so calming, ambulance dispatched..girls leg was trapped under her bike. Driver was in a state (so an even bigger hug for ccp) so trying to calm her down too. Her passenger was a bit of a pain though & kept saying '.....but the bike is fine...' er....woman on ground here! Anyway, ambulance came & dealt with her & I managed to find out later that she was okay, just badly bruised & scraped.
Then when I got to work my co-workerwho I start the day with was soooo hungover! So he kept disappearing to be sick & then the next co-worker had also been out & he had slept in & when he came in was being sick too! So a bit of an eventful start to the day! so lets try for pleasures:
1.Glad the girl was fine!
2.Had a lovely hot chocolate to calm my nerves!
3.From a cold start it turned into a beautiful nicely warm afternoon! I wish I had been at home to get washing out!
4.Have been invited to a customer's house tomorrow morning, she is having a few people over. Was lovely to be asked so I will go and meet new people!
5.Nice drive home & hey! it's the weekend! A game of phone scrabble with my son & a good heart to heart with DD2. She has been going to breakfast club & everyone is asleep when I go out at early o'clock! So nice to have a catch up with her! DD1 is away to a friends for a sleepover, will see her tomorrow!
6.Absolutely no idea what we are having for tea!
7.8 weeks till we fly home!
8.Just going for a bath I think...for a wee relax! I think I deserve it after my day!0 -
Afternoon everyone
mhagster - wow! what a morning! Glad the girl was ok.
Mine for today, early as off to my sisters in a bit.
1. Got cleaning done whilst kids played in garden
2. bacon and whoopsie brie sandwich for lunch, yummy!
3. Made lots of cheese straws for the weekend as requested by BIL
4. Made my bolognaise pasties and put in the freezer. Cant wait to have 1 next week.
5. Sister making tea and will be having a glass (or 2) of wine later.0 -

Reverbe-where is this recycling bin please?? Its magic- or you must have picked up a tip or two from that Harry Potter . All the recycling bins around here just have old cat food tins in them.
Good night all x
I take it ppl were houseclearing or moving out..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Evening all.
mhagster - the start of your day sounds horribly familiar! I'm glad that's another person who escaped relatively unscathed from their close encounter with a car.
The latest drama in my incident-packed week was hearing running water from the kitchen while eating my breakfast - a pipe had burst in the flat above mine and water was pouring through the ceiling and all over my electric cooker. I haven't dared switch it back on since - someone from the letting agency was meant to be coming round to check if it was safe this evening but he never turned up. It looks like I'll be having some very un-OS meals out and takeaways while my sister's staying with me.but
However, pleasures:
1) Completed a survey with a reward of a £5 Boots voucher. I hope it turns up fairly promptly as I'm running a bit low on face powder.
2) Very un-OS, but - I bought a lottery scratchcard (something I do once or twice a year at most) and won a tenner.
3) Found a RM macaroni cheese RTC to 95p in the supermarket, which is dinner sorted.
4) This week is finally over - it isn't one I'll be particularly happy to remember!
5) Having a well-deserved glass of cider while typing this.
Have a good evening, all, and a good weekend if I'm not back before then (my sister's visiting so I don't know if I'll be able to get on the pooter without being rude).Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening Ladies (and Keith if you are still reading)
1) Lovely low stress day today. I was working from home today so only woke up at 8.40! I did slack a bit this afternoon so will have to catch up on a couple of things this weekend.
2) Clean kitchen
3) NPD
4) Got the washing done and hung up
5) cuddles with the kitty
6) Courgette muffins as snack
7) Its the weekend and I am so looking forward to just chilling.
Night all - sleep well
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Grrr, yet another post lost!
Anyway, 5 for today, possibly in a slightly more terse style than the first time I wrote about them!
1) Had a bit of a lie in as the builders weren't due til 9 today (rather than 8).
2) Went to the dentist and none of us had anything done! (I've only got one filling anyway, at least ONE bit of me is in good condition!)
3) Bought a crab from the fishmongers while we were out so we could have something different for lunch.
4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
5) Builders finished for the weekend (although they will come back until next Friday)
6) Quite a tasty tea.
7) It's rather pointless but tried to do some housework! Changed beds, did 3 loads of washing, cleaned the stairs and kitchen floor. Everything is still dusty and will remain so for some time.
8) Read plenty of Harry Potter to the boys.
9) Might be going on a date tomorrow. Must reply to the chap's email. Just looked out of my window and by chance saw MrN in his garden, strolling around with his dogs so don't feel my heart is in replying to this perfectly innocent chap!0 -
Mhagster- sounds as though you had a knickers over tights day (Superwoman).Well done you, as some people "freeze" in a situation like that. Glad the girl was O.K
Reverbe - I would be sitting by the window watching for removal vans, then hoof it to the recycling bins. Result re the jeans , any "folding stuff" in the pockets? Would that be considered as a doing a double "Reverbe"?;)
5 for today
1.Went foraging in the countryside for blackberries. Got about a mug full as none are ripe yet. Strange that as the ones in my garden have been ready for weeks.I will look forward to going back in a few weeks as the are in such as beautiful place .
2.Looking with envy at the lovely houses on route to the blackberries. Nice old coach houses and such like. Dream on...
3.Planted some spinach seeds. I will need to get over the thought of its similarity to wet kleenex on a plate when its cooked . It will be good for me.
4. Being a rubbish gardener, as I forget to "thin" things out or water them. I was shocked to see that the strawberry plants were doing really well. They were ready for the compost heap when I brought them and cost 50p and were completely hidden under weeds and salad that I had planted that had gone to seed .It was like uncovering hidden treasure !! More like they were hiding from me.
6. Operation "cat poo" has been a success this year. All the raised beds are covered with a wooden frame and netting made from stuff we had already in the garden. There are more cats than people where we live.
5. Friends coming over tommorrow so cleaned up a bit. Looks a bit less like the life of grime now.
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Wow, DM has gone to bed before midnight as she has to pack to go home tomorrow
. But gives me the chance to get my 5 typed before dawn
1. Popped into M@talan and between DM and I we bought 4 tops, a dress (£3!), a shirt, 3 bras, a pashmina-type scarf and a ring for £30 in their sale
2. Lunch out at a pub offering 2 meals for £8 for over 55's, we had hm lasagne which was delish and very filling
3. Got 2 fleece throws for £6, to back my lounge curtains ready for winter
4. Free hand wash and free toothpaste vouchers today
5. Went for petrol at Sainsbugs but the queues were horrendous, so went back to my village and filled up there, for 2p a litre less. Definitely better value than Nectar points
Night night, sweet dreams

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday;
1. Bit of a lie in
2. Washing done from couple of days away plus the clean clothes that had been in the case aired (dad smokes so everything tends to smell a bit)
3. Pile of ironing done
4. Half hour in the garden taming a bit more of the jungle
5. Dinner out with the girls. The food wasn't great but the company made up for that.
Hugs to all who need them0
