Firstly... Good luck for your interview Carolyntia.
Thanks Ladyhawk. Luckily it's a platform I worked on the construction of down in Spain so it's not completely new to me. Just been doing a bit of research and made a note of some additions and some problems that were reported. Have you heard anymore about your interview with Oz?As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Worn out again here - that's what comes of standing in the kitchen, drinking tea and watching other people work!
5 or so for today.
1) Managed to get up and dressed before builders got here early on. It was a struggle.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Builders have done some work on the chimney, put a lintel in over the window (where there was just newspaper and clumps of plaster doing the weightbearing before), are set to put the massive beam in over the fireplace tomorrow and have plasterboarded one wall! Had to laugh as they have rammed some prop things in to the chimney breast to hold it all up when they remove the old bricks and woodwork and the props are called "strongboys". So I have 2 strongboys in my living room. :-D
4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
5) Saw mum and dad's neighbour's daughter. I used to go round to play at her house when I was growing up but she has moved to Australia so I hadn't seen her for 2 years. I got to meet her new baby as well.
6) Sister made tea for us at her house as there is literally nowhere to put up a table now as the living room is full of equipment and the piano pulled out at a silly angle.
7) Watched Chicken Run on iplayer with the boys.
8) Just read another chapter of Harry Potter for them.0 -
I need to think of five happy things that happened today because one of the team leaders was really rude to me this morning, our builder pulled out of the job he was due to start this weekend and some rotten little git stole our pot of two sunflowers from the front garden today - I went out to water it and it was gone.
1) Holding hands with my 8 y/o son when we walk to the shop, won't be long before he's too old, but for now he's still my little boy.
2) Covertly watching DH talking to his chicken before putting her to bed, she makes this adorable little trimming noise when you talk to her.
3) Sitting on the floor to put my shoes on and having both my Labradors come over to sit with me. Love you girls!
4) Finding that the exotic plants I stuck in because I had a spare seed tray and a shelf in the greenhouse are growing! if only I could remember what they were....
5) Getting a text from my son on the way home from work. Love him being little - love him growing up. Bitter sweet."There is no substitute for time."

Am sleep-typing! Mother has just gone to bed, we've chatted and laughed for hours and I don't know how she stayed awake so long, while I was drooping
. So, briefly...
1. Trip out to a local water mill with lots of pretty shops and a garden centre. I didn't spend anything!
2. Lunch in a pub, we waited 3/4 hour for our meal and when I mentioned - politely, honest - how long it had taken they only charged for our drinks
3. Huge quantities of ham on our plates, half of which we brought home for 'the dog', or maybe even a sandwich for tomorrows lunch
4 A belated b/day card from an employee who became a wonderful friend when she worked for me some 28 years ago, with a very pretty nail varnish in the packet
5 A good meeting this evening, lots of fun and laughter, and chocolate brownies
Hugs, sleep tight

Getting Married in 2013 :j0 -
hello from a very tired & crabbit Mhagster! I have not worked full time hours since 1995 and my sleep pattern is rather pants at the moment! Washing & ironing is multiplying at a rate ! However:
1.Good day at work.
2.I saw the most beautiful, exquisitely tiny, highly coloured & patterned bird today. No idea what kind it is, if I had had my phone with me I could have taken a photo & tried to identify it. It made me so happy to see something so pretty!
3.Had a snooze!
4.Had a bath!
5.Had a fried egg on toast....made by my husband!
Thank you for your kind thoughts re my Mum's neighbour. I will get to see Mrs Neighbour when we go home in September so can give her a big hug then & I plan to send some flowers in a couple of weeks, thought she might be in-undated with them now, so might be nice to get them then. It is just sad when someone who has been such a constant in your life is no longer with you.
Anyway, you all have a good day.....enjoy the warmth & sunshine! brrrrrrr cold wind here today ,although the sun was shining I was in work!0 -
Hi everyone,
Busy couple of days here but my five for today are:
1) Finding a better savings account for my emergency money, opened it and transferred the balance.
2) Making the final 2 for a possible new client - last interview tomorrow.
3) Receiving a small box of fruit from a friend's garden.
4) Realising my MSE ways are starting to rub off on my Dad,
5) Sneaking back to bed for a couple of hours this morning.

Again, will try and be succinct, before I shut all down and go away till September.
1. Not really panicking over fact that I can't fit everything in...what else is new? Telling myself that I will catch ferry.
2. Sun has just come out, if rather late.
3. Met new postie Sophie and learn that lovely previous K. is back at work, sorting, after nasty freak leg/ankle break months ago. She should be back on her bike in a few weeks.
4. Boiled last 4 eggs to take with me - these were a gift and include 2 just 3cm long[first ones from 2 girls] and one an 8cm monster! They do look very chalk and cheese ensemble.
5. Have put £credit ahead into utilities to cover my absence and PRAY that broadband won't have hamfistedly been switched off while I'm away. It seems to happen with Primus, despite SO. Fingers crossed.
Okay, je m'en vais....-ish:-)
May be able to say Bonjour from time to time, but this journey is unlike any for over 10 years, and I'm unsure how I'm dealing with this....flakily would be my best guestimate atm. Warmth and smiles to all.

Safe journey ampersand, if you can't post we'll understand, and on your return we will get together! (I'll need a wash by then anyway
