Kittikins: have a lovely holiday. Last year was the first year in 10 years we didn't go to France on holiday (well....did go to Australia instead!) but I just love France and all things French, I know when we were there in 2009 for my 40th I had noticed a huge jump in price because of the exchange rate.
1.Busy day at work, made for a quick day. Missed the heavy rain & drove home in lovely sunshine!
2.More washing & more bloomin' ironing! Cleaned bathrooms.
3.RTC pizza base for tea with kids doing their toppings, me & OH will have corned beef hash.....not had it in ages!
4.Nice email from my sister.
5.er......can't think of a specific 5th!
Have a good day!0 -
Good morning, all. I just wanted to pop in and thank you all very much for your kind hugs - I'm still a bit shaky but not nearly as bad as I was when I posted yesterday. I had a text from the kid's mother last night to assure me that the hospital had given her daughter the all clear, and to ask if I could meet them for coffee so her daughter can give me the card she's made to apologise for scaring me. I think I've got something in my eye now...
Have a good day, all - I'll be back at my normal time with pleasures.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP: glad you feel a bit better & wasn't that lovely of the girl's mum! she is probably just so relieved everything is okay. Take care x0

Evening all.
I'm pretty certain I haven't got 5 for today, but I'll do as many as I can:
1) One of my favourite sandwich fillings - cheese, tomato and salad cream - for lunch. It was so nice I think I'll have the same again tomorrow.
2) I somehow managed to resist the heavily-discounted YS goodies when I stopped to get cat food on the way home - I really didn't need a lemon and raspberry cheesecake even if it was only 60p.
3) An episode of Top Gear from last night to watch over dinner - it's such a silly programme but it usually manages to make me smile.
That's about it I think - hopefully I'll be back to 5 tomorrow. Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
CCP - Lovely to hear that the little girl has made you a card
1) Got another interview on Thursday - for a job here in Aberdeen - lovely HR woman rang this morning and already had a slot for me in lunch time so I didn't have to take any time off
2) Got a letter from our HR dept today - nearly died of shock and my first though was...'oh god what have I done now'....instead it was notification of a small pay rise
3) More flirty texts from MrB
4) Left over mince for dinner
5) Messages on FB from a friend I went to Uni with
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Evening all
Carolyntia - good news about the payrise and good luck in the interview.
Mine for today
1. kids really well behaved today. Played outside and played board games and hardly any fighting!!!
2. Got all the jobs on my cleaning rota done. Feel like I am getting house organised again.
3. Caught up on all the washing from being ill and line dried.
4. Made laundry gloop. Had to use washing powder the last few days as ran out and hubby thinks i stopped making it over a year ago as it makes him itchy!!!! :rotfl:

hi all, here's mine.
1) a lie in.
2) sunshine.
3) all the washing blowing on the line.
4) a walk in the sunshine up over the golf course with OH
5) I MADE MERINGUES!!! first time ever
6) OH says he thinks they are nicer than the bought ones!! Very unusual for himworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all,
Chick - I can't believe your (thankfully) former BIL - his behaviour was disgraceful. Your poor sister - glad to hear that she is fine now and has an improved model of man!
Carolyntia - Good luck with the interview!
1) Went to see "Bridesmaids" with a couple of colleagues - it was quite amusing and there definitely were a couple of places where I was watching through my fingers
2) Laughing at the amusing sun burn I have on my boobs as a result of the Sunwalk.
3) Biscuit samples in the office
4) My lovely colleague A, who has been undergoing chemo and radio therapy for breast cancer came to work without a scarf on her head and with hair!!! Its very short but she looks great! She still has a week left of the radio therapy but fingers cross that it has been vanquished.
5) My new credit card arrived... yippee! My bank contacted me last week to tell me that my previous one had been compromised so they had to cancel my old card. Luckily nothing had been taken though.
Night all
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening everyone,
CCP- what a shock for all concerned. I am glad nobody got hurt.
Tealady- well done for completing your sun walk.
5 OS pleasures for today:-
1. OH let hens out this morning at 5.30am so had bit of a lie in.
2. Made a creme caramel resurected from my extreme kitchen cupboard clean..left it to cool to room temp. before putting in the fridge to set for 2-4 hours. However it did not make it to the fridge as OH ate it .
3.Its a good job I don't like creme caramel .:rotfl:
4.Worked out that I have given away 21 eggs in two days. Thats one heck of an omelette.
5. Nets and windows cleaned in lounge.
6. Planted some more veg in the garden.
7. Despite the particularly horrific news in Norway and the sudden death of Amy Winehouse . I was able to laugh at some of the threads on this site. It felt good to do so.
Good night everyone
x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
5 or so for today (Monday).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Sons went to their father's for lunch and came back OK.
3) Tried to sort out cashing endowment policy for the house (as it's losing money!) which involved a very complicated phone call with them and with the mortgage company.
4) Made a hairdressers appointment for tomorrow as I am tiring of the long "Terry Wogan/toupe" look. :-)
5) Finally got living room clear of EVERYTHING ready for the builders! Eeeek!
6) Went to Sainsburys so all stocked up now.
7) Made a "takeaway" tea of rice, sweet and sour chicken and prawn crackers. Might make a pretend Indian takeaway tomorrow.
8) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
9) Just read another installment of Harry Potter to them.0
