Good evening all.
Caterina - your brekkie omelette sounds lovely.
mhagster - how lovely to have a taste of home from so far away.
laloopi - I hope you and your LO are feeling much better now.
Tealady - I'm glad you got a full refund with no problems - how could they think they could sell a bike in that condition?
nuttybabe - I totally agree with you about the problems with cars getting damaged. I'm lucky enough to have an off-road parking space, but it doesn't protect my car from my neighbour's carelessness / malice - my last one was keyed twice and had its wing mirror snapped off. (I never worked out if that was deliberate or accidental.)
Ladyhawk - I'm so sorry the job's fallen through. With a bit of luck something even better will come along now.
I've been nursing a nasty headache all day (the side-effects of these antibiotics are nearly as bad as the original problem!), but I'll try for five:
1) A nice walk in the sunshine, down to the city museum for an archaeological finds identification day. (Which is tomorrow, unfortunately.)
2) Picked up some nice plants RTC, including a chilli plant as my HG ones can't make up their minds whether to grow or not.
3) Got the last of my HG tomato plants planted out, along with my new chilli plant.
4) Despite some very threatening-looking clouds, it's stayed rain-free all day so I could get my washing dry.
5) A very MSE dinner tonight, made up of YS, HG and Approved Food stuff. :money:
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Evening all
Mine for today
1. Lie in
2. Kids got into bed for cuddle this morning (need a bigger bed!!! lol)
3. Loads better today even after a rough night - must not eat chocolate late at night!!!
4. Got 900g lean mince for £1.39 and 2 Christmas presents, both reduced from £20 to £2.50!!! yay!
5. Started on my winter stock cupboard. Got 6 packs of baked beans for 99p each in Lidl. Will try to build on it a little every week. Feels good that I have started to prepare especially if its gonna be a bad one.
Right, off to have 1 glass of wine as alot better, now where did i put bob!!! lol0 -
Good evening everyone,
My 5 for today:-
1. Finishing my library book.
2. Emptying and cleaning a few kitchen cupboards with Stardrops. I am amazed at how many tiny individual herb and spice jars we have and wonder why on earth have 3 half empty jars and a large sachet full of Turmeric in one cupboard. I mean its not as if you can miss the stuff is it, even with the lights off?? The cupboards now resemble the ones in the film "Sleeping with the Enemy" with all the labels lined up with no tin or jar daring to step out of line. This will remain tidy for at least two days..probably less.At least I "found" 8 more tins of tomatoes than I thought we had .
3.Made beef stroganoff in the slow cooker. It was delicious.
4.Got all of the washing dried on the line outside , despite it looking as if it was going to rain all day.
5.Watching a very young Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Have a good evening everyone
x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all,
Tealady - Good luck for tomorrow. I have managed to dig out my pink bra and pink feather boa. I had a look at the route this morning and it looks far
1) Went shopping this morning at Brent Cross. Picked up some bits in the sales but mostly used vouchers to pay for things. I even managed to behave in Lakeland and only spent £5 there.
2) Changed my sheets and turned my mattress over
3) Made a very yummy supper - courgette stuffed with mince. Well... the mince was bulked out with all sorts of bits and bobs from freezer, fridge and store cupboard... including peppers, rice, 4 type of beans, tomatoes and split peas. YUM!!!
4) Load of washing done and hung up to dry
5) Cuddles with the kitty.
night all... need to get my sleep in prep for the Sunwalk
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening
Ladyhawk - Good luck to you as well tomorrow. The route looks the same at the last half of the moonwalk. It may be busy with tourists who will wonder what all these people are doing in bra's
1. In to town early as was going to buy a new zip up sweat top for tomorrow but couldn't find one I liked so decided to make do with what I have, very MSE:money:
2. Late lunch out with OH & DD. My lunch wasn't great but nice to spend time with the family.
3. Washing line dried and DD sorting out the ironing basket so now not as much ironing to do
4. Little snooze this afternoon
5. Just enjoying a cup of peppermint tea before bed
Hugs to all who need them. Am feeling a little nervous of walking through central london in my bra tomorrow:eek:, haven't really got the figure for this but in DD's words " no one will be looking at your tummy mum when you have those boobs out, you're not what you might call flat chested" Think this was supposed to make me feel better0 -
Evening all,
Here's mine for today...
1. In a similar experience to Tealady, I went into town today, by myself, and was wandering round realising just how many things I don't need! It's so liberating, what on Earth was I thinking before?! I love being OS.
2. I thinned out the radish I'm growing in a pot and replanted them in another planter, and planted some spinach plants the nice man in the market let me have for 20p
3. Enjoyed the last of a batch of Twink's hobnobs from the freezer.
4. Don't know if I'd call it a pleasure, but I watched the Earthlings documentary online and am now contemplating going veggie.
5. Good conversation with my lovely husband.
And good luck to Tealady and Ladyhawk! My mum and mother-in-law both had breast cancer, it's a very important cause.Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!0 -
Good evening,
My 5 for today:- There was a free skip at my local leisure centre for any household rubbish, so I took 4 estate-car loads of junk from my elderly mother's outhouses for disposal. This included a fridge, freezer, several old bicycles, rusted beyond use, an old lawnmower and loads of other stuff. Although the outhouses aren't yet empty, we can see the wood for the trees now and will be able to get the rest sorted out.
- Transplanted the geranium seedlings from their little pots into two planters ath the front of my house. Hopefully they will grow on and bloom and look lovely.
- Only bought milk and some special-offer yoghurts today.
- Arranged to pass on my son's school jumpers to my neighbour for next term. She sponsored me for my recent charity walk so its a good deal and I hate things being thrown away.
- Dried two loads of washing on the line outside. I love the fresh smell of line-dried clothes when I bring them indoors.

Absolutely shattered so will try to do a quick 5.
Gratefulforhelp - MrN chucked me by text at 11.30 on a Tuesday evening (nearly 4 weeks ago). On the Saturday, his wife moved back in (they had been apart for over 2 years). So he's not my favourite person...
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Got some jobs done round the house.
3) Sons helped me take another couple of metres of plaster off the living room walls.
4) Went to my sister's 30th birthday party in fancy dress!#
5) School friend went to the party with us then came back here for a cup of tea.0 -
