    Evenin' all!

rachelhen - welcome to the thread!

nuttybabe - I hope you're feeling much better now.

I'm not sure I've got 5 OS pleasures for today, but I've got one big non-OS pleasure: I've finally got my new car. :j It's vastly more flashy than any car I've ever sat in, let alone driven - I'm particularly enjoying the remote central locking (it's just fun to push a button and see your car unlock itself ;):o). I suppose it's also money saving in a way, as I'll no longer have to pay endless repair bills to keep my old car moving - I muttered a heartfelt thanks to my late grandmother for leaving me the money in her will as I drove away in my new, (hopefully) more reliable model. :)

    Other pleasures:

    1) My new car comes with 6 months breakdown cover, which will save me a bit of money as mine is due for renewal. :)

    2) Another free lunch, and a bit more interesting today - I think our complaints about the poor quality, boring food are having an effect.

    3) Chilli-stuffed courgette for dinner, a meal which always reminds me of being a kid (although, unlike when I ate it as a kid, none of the veg is homegrown as it's too early for anything to be ripe yet :().

    4) Sunshine and showers all day, but I managed to avoid the worst of the rain and not to get totally soaked.

    5) I was meant to be working late tonight but no-one seemed to know what I was meant to be doing (it's a special event organised by a team I don't usually work with), so everyone agreed I should just go home. :D

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

WOW!!!!! CCP - what car did you get? how exciting!

Yet another annoying day at Ladyhawk's office. I was supposed to go to Liverpool and Macclesfield tomorrow. My boss asked why to I explained it... Anyway... he decided it was not a good use of my time. But it is all well and good for half the men in the office to be out tomorrow playing golf at the annual golf day... some of them were out today playing golf as well.:mad: I hate hypocracy.

    1) Wore my new dress from Ne*xt today

    2) We had a funny incident at work this morning... My lovely colleague (Tall, slim, blonde) come in to work with a tightish dress on and as she turned aroiund to put her bag down I noticed that the back seam had torn right up the back to her knicker line! Luckily she found it very funny. I had whispered to her very discreetly that I though i was split... her shriek alerted the rest of the office:rotfl:

    3) Picked up a cover for my black-berry from a nice freecycler

    4) Yummy alcoholic gingerale when I got home

    5) Being at home tonight rather that being clambered all over by my dear friends little "darling" - though I would probably use a different word

    6) Ice lolly samples in the office... though I got my tongue stuck to mine because i couldn't wait for it to soften:o

    7) Stopped by a friend on the way to work to drop something off. When the looked after the cat when I was holiday I gave each of the kids a sunflower plant to see who could grow the biggest one... they had to show me how well they were growing... it was so cute!

    Night all

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening Everyone

Another lovely day here today except for a huge tantrum from DD about eating her veg. So my pleasures for today are:

    • DD being away for the day (having loads of fun) so I had peace
    • A friend came for lunch and helped out in the garden
    • Sorted out my knitting things into my new knitting bag :D
    • Had a trip to the library
    • Going to have a wee night on the sofa eating sweeties.

I have the whole day to myself tomorrow so I am looking forward to crochet, knitting and gardening.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

It's a Citroen C3, exactly like this one. It's second hand, but it's less than 4 years old (my last one was 15 years old, as a comparison). What I desperately need to do is track down a user's manual - it's got so many gadgets and features that I feel a little lost looking at it all! :o
Back after a very long break!
  • Haven't done this for a while, but

    1. My baby's smiles
    2. Puppy cuddles
    3. Coffee in bed
    4. Looking at flowers DH bought me (a rare event)
    5. Having DH at home today.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

    5 for today (Tuesday).

    1) Got all the rest of the plaster off the fireplace wall. 4 layers!

    2) Started getting organised for my sister's 30th birthday party on Saturday. I have to do a board with photos of her through the years.... :-D

    3) Went to Sainsburys without sons and got the normal shopping plus 3 birthday cards, 1 wedding card, 2 thank you cards for sons' teachers and 2 for the TA's!

    4) Did loads of dusting and other housework so everything is tidy until the builders start next Monday.

    5) Going to watch Holby City in a minute.

    6) Date tomorrow!

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,

    1. Some money in my account from a share dividend for the company I work for. Will help pay for my new bike.
    2. Lunch spent with a lovely work collegue.
    3. Bit of gardening done tonight whilst waiting for dinner to cook. The garden waste bin goes tomorrow and it is a point of principal that it has to be full.
    4. Pleasant evening with OH and DD. Everyone was in good humour
    5. Cornetto in the office this afternoon. They were on offer in Waitrose - box of 6 for 97p. Made me look very generous for less than a £.
    6. Couple of lovely people at work sponsored me for the sunwalk so am now at the £100 target.

Hugs to all who need them

CCP - Enjoy your new car

Carolyntia any news? Or do you have to wait for a nailbiting time til you get a response?
Congrats on the new car CCP, have lots of fun finding out about all the gizmos and gadgets :D
Well done on getting the ticket Caterina, sounds like a good day out. Thanks to you mentioning deal sites some time ago I've been able to take advantage of a couple of offers which I couldn't have afforded otherwise :)
Pleased you're improving, albeit slowly nuttybabe, get well now

    1. Slept in til 10am, it was lovely!
    2. Gave the bathroom a top to bottom clean, looks lovely and sparkly now and woe betide any visitors who want to use it :rotfl:
    3. Plenty of rain to keep everything green outside, but did give the tomatoes a feed in the hope they'll be more prolific than most of what's growing out there - except weeds! How do they spring up overnight yet what I try to grow, doesn't?
    4. A friend rang to tell me she's passed her last exam and is now qualified to work in mental health. So pleased for her, but it made me smile thinking of the files of certificates etc I gathered over the years and the blood I sweated to achieve what I wanted/needed in my career. Retirement is wonderful!
    5. Postie brought me yet another generous moisturiser sample, and a strip of fabric from 'A Stale Odour' which I presume is a headband. The box was open so any paperwork is missing. Hope there wasn't a perfume sample in there too!

    Night night, sweet dreams

Hello all :) Lovely shiny cars, good luck for dates, yay to Freecycle etc. Sorry, I'm less alert than I thought I was, as I was reading I had everything in my head....oops!

    1. My not so chirpy physio strapped my leg up and it feels good, looks odd, but hey, if it helps with a long drive in a few days' time, I'll be happy!
    2. OH is here :):)
    3. Bought OH some YS meat for dinner which he said was lovely
    4. 4 tubes of YS toothpaste, worked out to be a quarter of the cost of the same toothpaste in new packaging!!
    5. Fun at Rainbows and brought home 2 little cakes for DD's packed lunches :)
