Many congratulations for obtaining your interview, Ladyhawk!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Early up, made DH's breakfast and packed lunch and started my day.
2 - Walk with my friend to the gym and had a nice chat while walking.
3 - Did the higher aerobics class (still not the hardest but hard enough for me!) instead of the over-50s. Very hard but managed to do most of it!
4 - Had sensible low-carb lunch of large veg salad and feta cheese with olives.
5 - Going as a model to have my hair roots touched up, can't wait to look presentable again!
6 - Enough french beans picked in front garden, between yesterday and today, to make it a nice side dish for tonight's dinner (going to be grilled salmon, french beans and broccoli).
Have a nice evening all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good luck with the interview Ladyhawk. Will keep everything crossed for you.0

Hi Rachbc, just read your thread on the family board as I have a 12 year old with similar issues. It's interesting to get others takes on it isn't it? I think some of that advice will help me deal with my DS.I wanna be in the room where it happens0

Just popping in to say... :j:j Got the interview for the OZ job!!!:j:j
Well done Ladyhawk!!!!:D:D
I hope you don't mind me popping in and just letting you all know I've got a telephone interview tomorrow for the job in Holland! As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
:T:j Oh, well done Ladyhawk and Carolyntia :j:T
I do love good news and that's some of the best! But don't you go disappearing, your can post from anywhere, isn't that right mhags?0 -
Hi can i join in, i need to start looking for the positives!
1.Lady next door gave me some homemade egg custard
2. had bargain in charity shop
3.daughter had excellent school report
4. daughter and me making cakes to last us a couple of days
5. son and wife coming home from holiday to relive me of my dog sitting!!0 -
Evening all.
Ladyhawk and Carolyntia - :j:j:j Very good luck to you both!
Nuttybabe - a rather belated happy birthday to you! I'm sorry it ended so badly, and I hope you're feeling much better by now.
My five for today (having missed my weekend posts):
1) HM banana and raisin bread for breakfast - it was a surprisingly successful experiment to use up an over-ripe banyan.
2) NSD - that's three in a row, which is definitely a record for me.
3) Found a £1 coin in the bottom of my bag - I've no idea where it came from but I'm not complaining.
4) Free lunch again, although I confess I'm getting a little tired of cheap ham sandwiches.
5) Spotting a colleague making her way home on foot in the pouring rain and being able to offer her a lift.
6) Cuddles with the mog, once he'd forgiven me for the horrible torture I inflicted on him when I got home (a human would describe it as 'applying flea drops').
7) A nice easy, cheap dinner of lentil curry from the freezer and a naan bread courtesy of Approved Food. :money:
Hmm, that's an ampersand-esque five pleasures - never mind, eh?
Have a good evening, all.
ETA - welcome welshcamper!Back after a very long break!0 -
Well done Carolyntia, best wishes for interview! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Good luck to all being interviewed and job hunting!
Some of today's pleasures:
Being able to help a friend out who needed deodorant and a body spray but is cashless.
Using up a jar of lasagne topping that was nearing the use-by in a tasty pasta bake - much less faff than lasagne.
Catching two out of three students that I needed to call at home -really frustrating when you have to leave yet another answerphone message.
Chat with my sister, now retired, who was reporting various charity shop bargains.
Man coming to give me a quote for a new wrought iron garden gate and bannisters - and praise be, he can do what needs doing.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Love it ccp, we now have 'doing an ampersand' when there are just waaaaaaay more than 5 pleasures to recount as well as 'doing a reverbe' when you find some money on the floor
1. Received and spent my £4 LV from doing an online survey last week
2. Found out that DD did get a place on an activity course at her school during the holidays
3. Did a kind of reverbe when I picked up a 5p off per litre of petrol coupon from the car park floor at Mr T's
4. Have done lots of packing for my holiday at the end of the week
5. Cuppa and a chat with lovely friend
6. Said friend gave me a gorgeous top she doesn't like, only worn once!!
7. Feeling nice and relaxed after my lovely weekend
8. Great physio session0
