Some of us sadly don't seem to have much luck any other way. :(

Neither do I, but I still couldn't find the courage for online dating! I wasn't even brave enough in the end to sign up for a local meet-up group which I was interested in. :o

I'm very glad it works so well for other people, though. :)
Back after a very long break!

Not very MSE but a good day nonetheless

    1. Resisted the sale in Monsoon
    2. Didn't resist the sale in accessorize but have picked up some cheap and cheerful pressies for DD;s birthday on Monday (to go with a mobile phone that got more and more expensive as we went on) and some stuff for her christmas stocking - all 70% off
    3. Laughing hysterically with friend over lunch as we both turned up in the same top  People were looking over and laughing or pointing it out to us as though we didn't know :rotfl:
    4. Harry Potter with kids after school :T I luurrve Harry Potter.
    5. M&S meal for 2 for £10 for tea - it's actually quite generously portioned and with an additional dish and a little more veg did 4 of us - including a decent bottle of wine.

Saturday tomorrow - OH taking DD and some friends to Blackpool for the day - DS going to Alton TOwers with another friend for his birthday so Yours Truly gets a day to herself (doing the shopping, ironing and packing for hols next week, but still..) Hoping to do an 8 mile [STRIKE]walk[/STRIKE] run to build up for my Great north [STRIKE]Walk[/STRIKE] run
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    3) Getting out on my bike again this afternoon - went further than usual and now I ache :o

    5) Finding JML snuggies on offer on the preparing for winter thread...now got four coming my way with two book lights thrown in - will give a couple to my mum for christmas as I don't think her new house is going to be completely draught proof this winter
    6) Free breakfast roll
    7) Managing to snaffle enough fruit from work for the weekend :D
    8) Three people ringing me about different jobs I might be interested in - one in Holland

Well, while we're talking hair loss, MrN has only a silly fringe of hair at the back of his head by his neck. Obviously, not all 99% bald men follow his example but maybe it's time I had a hairier model!

    Anyway, 5 for today.

    1) Went into town with mum and did the 2nd hand shops. Got a top and some shorts! I haven't worn a pair of shorts since I was at school so it'll take some nerve for me to actually go out wearing them but I'm on a mission now. I've lost enough weight to be a size 14 again but my legs are the colour of skimmed milk while the rest of me is very brown so I'll have to do something about that before I wear them.

    2) Helped brother put some bricks down which will be under the concrete outside his barn conversion.

    3) Popped to Sainsburys with sons and got a birthday present for the boy who bigger son is staying with tomorrow for a sleepover.

    4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    5) School friend phoned for a chat.

    6) Have had a bit of a tidy downstairs.

Very much looking forward to the builder coming tomorrow. And feeling better about the departure of MrN. I can't say too much on here but MrsN is very much being her old self. :lipsrseal  I'm thinking she might not be here as long as she imagines...

Glad to hear youre happy sparrer.. personally its not my taste. TBH it would just like once to even have one date with a man I find attractive.. sort of a bucket list thing,..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:So glad you have found yourself a very nice man to spend your time with.. a real daily pleasure:beer:

Aww bless you Reverbe, DS = Dear Son! Wasn't suggesting I've met anyone on a dating site recently, just saying not all balding men are weirdos ;) . Btw I met my now ex husband via a dating mag before the age of computers in every household, he was a perfect gentleman, we were married 23 years and I can't in all honestly say it was bad, just the final months when he met someone else - on line. Oh, the irony :(. But we've been apart over 10 years now, I have lovely children/grandchildren and a good life so no regrets. Oh, and he's been bald since the age of 30 too, ha ha.

    1. Having sorted out what's already in the freezer I managed to do a months shop for less than £60 for me the three pets :)
    2. A good drying day
    3. Found a lovely little waste bin with butterfly cut-outs round the top, for the guest room. DM is visiting next week and she loves butterflies
    4. The garden is so much easier to care for and water since all the improvements, it's encouraging me to regain my interest :). Just have to stop myself going to the garden centre too often or I'll end up back where I started
    5. Rescued a fledgling from one of my cats, thank goodness it wasn't hurt, just shocked, and after catching its breath in a cardboard box it managed to fly off. Phew! I hate this time of year when the cats do that so often but this time the bird won :D

Hope you're all sleeping soundly, except mhags who is prob doing more ironing, or better still having her weekend scone ;)

Mmmm, the weekend scone :) Every Saturday I read about mhagster's scone and wish I had her self-control; for me one scone leads to another and another....they were a major craving when I was pregnant, nomnomnom

well I never had a Saturday scone ....so there! But will probably have a Sunday one!

1.Woke up at 5.30am....so got up & pottered & yes Sparrer I did some ironing & more washing and hoovered & washed floors & all the things that needed doing that I've been to un-bothered/tired to do through the week.

2.We went to the zoo. Forecast for today was sunny but was chilly. Needed scarves & gloves and sunglasses! Took DD2's friend with us. Last weekend of free for kids & it was full of them! Had a good day. We had already been first time we came out for a visit almost 2 years ago. I like the fact that I can see amazing animals up close but some just looked sad & bored. Bears and a 'fishing cat' especially, just pacing up & down. I loved the giraffes & my DD1 absolutely adores orang utans and there was a new baby one so we stood for ages watching them. :)

3.Brief return home and more washing hung up & bathrooms cleaned & then off out again to see Harry Potter film at cinema. An expensive treat. Now I'm working I think in 'this took me ....hours work to earn this'.....this was a days pay! However, it was excellent. My DS was 5 when we first read the first book together and is now 16. So an end of an era for Harry Potter. My OH only saw the last film....missed the first 5...so halfway through whispered that he hadn't a clue what it was all about!

4.Quick phone call to my friend. I have been phoning her early Saturday morning & didn't want to miss saying hello just because we were going to cinema. So 10 minute call whilst I locked up house & went in car!

5.Coming home to a cozy (ish!) house as heating had clicked on whilst we were out, so it must have been freezing before then! Another pleasure....no work today so didn't have to scrape the ice of my car this morning ! Brrrrr!

Enjoy your Saturday......I'll be on my Sunday scone before your day is out ,take care! x

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
