Evening all.
Mine for today:
1) I was meant to be working late but a kind colleague offered to take over my shift as I'd already done one today.
2) Free lunch again. :money:
3) Overhearing a colleague complaining about the poor quality of the free lunches - it's nice to know it's not just me being fussy!
4) Got the trousers I needed for the fancy dress party on Saturday - they were a bit more than I ideally wanted to spend but I know I'll wear them again so I don't really mind.
5) Chilli con carne burritos for dinner.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

They are now having Tesco's Bruno dog food at 99p a can (the really big size cans). I am not paying stupid amounts for a tin of dog food and that price is unjustifiable, if I stop buying it hopefully others will and Pedigree will rethink the pricing. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Hiya

2. Letter from my cousins little girl saying she misses us, dd started writing a letter back and will finish it tomorrow. And ds1 is writing to his cousin (actually got him interested in writing :j),now i know why my mum was so keen on us having penpals when i was little.

4. Ds1 had his class assembly and did very well remembering his lines

Nuttybabe - Glad both you and DD are feeling better
Pleasures for today:
1. Everyone had a packed lunch and breakfast again today apart from me as I didn't need lunch
2. We had a Bastille Day celebration at work today (I work for a french company and quite a few staff are french). We had lovely cheeses and meats with french bread and wine. Everyone stood out in the sunshine chatting and laughing was very sociable. Plus most people helped clear up which is unusual though some did need a little encouragement
3. Nice chat with sil on phone
4. Quick easy dinner before everyone went out to do their usual Thursday activities
5. £5 love2shop voucher in the post today
6. 6 mile walk whilst DD was at guides. Haven't been very good at getting out walking over the last couple of weeks so really needed this.
7. Picked up a pack of 2 chicken kievs for 39p for dinner tomorrow and a packet of croissants for 29p
Hugs to all who need them0 -
5 or so for today (Thurs).
1) Bigger son's sport day early on.
2) Bigger son's open day after lunch. :-) He loves acting and had a good part. Also his DVD was for sale from the last film he made so I bought a copy and every relation available has watched it this evening!
3) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
4) Made a pie from the remains of last night's roast chicken and vegetables.
5) My friend's 20 week scan went well.
6) Sitting in bed with nothing urgent to do now.
7) Had 3 lovely emails from fellow Guardian soulmates!0 -
Evening all,
I had a very grumpy morning, but it got better after lunch. I got an email from the head of the UK ********* Council who I had asked some advice from. He responded by impling that I was rather duplicitous and various very unfair things. TBH I was completely gobsmacked. So I wrote back to him a rather well crafted (if I do say so myself) email which basically said f""" off and will not be corresponding with him again.
He had got completely the wrong end of the stick.
1) cheering up in the afternoon and kicking off a new project (without the help of a certain someone)
2) A little snooze when I got home
3) Little glass of wine
4) Paid some money into the morgage fund
5) Surprisingly yummy supper of HM tortilla wraps with qu0rn peices, HM tomato sauce and HG courgettes
6) Finished my book
7) Finally asked my neighbour, who I have been saying hello to for the last 2 years, what her name is.
8) Ferretted out some biscuit samples from under the bakery buyers desk... I needed them!
Well - still no news from Oz...
Night all

PS Frith - sounds like I need to get myself onto Soulmates!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
My five for Thursday:
1. The sunny weather.
2. Getting some stuff out the way that I really hadn't wanted to do, but I did it anyway.
3. Having my landlord's builder turn up to measure our miniscule front 'garden' prior to digging it up and redoing it 'cos it's a mess and needs a new weed-proof membrane laying.
4. Getting the replacement form from the council allotments people so that we can get reinstated on the waiting list - there'd been an error and we'd got left off but the lovely woman is going to add us back in where we should have been so we won't have lost our place.
5. Discovering that my semi-hidden jar of chocolate spread has been forgotten by starving DSs and there's still some left in it so I've just had a bedtime snack!
Sleep well
B x0 -
1. Lost a measly 2lb at my SW group; but the leader says its probably due to the painkillers making me retain water (sorry if tmi!)
But at least it's 2lb off rather than on and I'm going to persevere - and maybe eat more celery!
2. Lovely chat with my mummy on the phone
3. DD, OH and I had a great chat about our forthcoming holiday, very exciting
4. OH being scrummy as usual
5. Did the hoovering before going to work
6. Lovely tea party at volunteer placement, the children worked really hard to make sure we all had a great time0
