    2. Got the kitchen and bathroom clean before the pain started again

    3. Ds1 sports day (hubby worked from home so could stay with dd whilst i went), he won 1 race and came second in 2. :D

    Evening all,

    1) Good vibe in the office

    2) 121 with the boss went well... I didn't have a strop at him like I wanted to

    3) Global VP of Sustainability called me to give me tips for the Oz job... he used to be the MD of the Oz business so hopefully he will put in a good word for me... but still no new from Oz :(

    4) NSD

    5) Glass of wine when I got in from work

    Nighty night night.

Have only just decided to get back into the OS swing of things and have been very pleased with myself on day 2.

    1. Went for a nice healthy walk along the seafront today rather than straight to the Drs & Bank.

    2. Bought all my meat/fish for the month for a bargainous £10.80!! Feel very proud of myself & excited about all the things I can make with it. It's strange but I'm really excited about making mini meatloaves, I'm even considering making them tomorrow & freezing them individually because I want to try the recipe out.

    3. Used some of the sliced beef my boyfriend got free from work (in a cafe). Nothing wrong with it just the pack had been open 3 days (BBD tomorrow) so I had beef sandwiches for lunch & a roast for dinner.

    4. Have tackled most of my laundry now and put all the clean dry stuff away which makes me feel very smug & happy when I look into my newly cleared out chest of drawers!!

    5. Apprentice is on tonight - I can't wait. I love watching it!!

Tomorrow I've got a long day with work in the morning for 5 hours and then straight on the bus to psychotherapy in the afternoon. I'm having tea with my boyfriend in the evening though & I'm already defrosting some nice bits for us. Plus I'm going to take my big handbag tomorrow to work so I can buy a few essentials I really want/need and carry them to me with therapy. Last week I took my shopping in a carrier bag and I fell over and all the bottles smashed so I'm hoping for better luck!!

    Good evening all.

nuttybabe - I'm glad you're feeling better, and hope your DD recovers soon too.

I'm not sure I can think of five for today, but I'll see what I can come up with:

    1) Free lunch from work. :money: I confess I was hoping for something a bit more interesting than a cheap ham salad sandwich, but it's never wise to object to a freebie. ;)

    2) Gave the orange from my lunch to a colleague, who thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

    3) Cheap Thai curry for dinner, using a spice mix from Approved Foods. The pack instructions aren't very clear and the curry was a bit too mild, which gives me plenty of scope for experimenting to get it right. ;)

    4) A phone call from my sister - it was nice to chat even if the purpose of the call was to postpone our meeting again, for a couple more weeks. :(

I think that's about it, but four out of five isn't bad. Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

5 for me for today (Wednesday).

    1) Went to smaller son's sports day with my brother. He has refused to take part in recent years but was pretty good today. He wouldn't take part in the dressing up race (which seems fair enough as he has trouble getting dressed at home anyway!) but won the hurdles and was 2nd in the relay. :-)

    2) Got smaller son some "new" trousers on Ebay. He is 7 and thin but the height of a 9 year old...

    3) Bright but not too hot so got the washing dried outside.

    4) Got my change of name postcards! Just got to address them and post them now.

    5) Did a roast chicken for tea and all the trimmings.

    6) Sister came for tea on her way home from work and brought us a lemon tart for pudding and some roses for me.

    7) Just went over to the neighbours' (not THAT neighbour!) to borrow a tie for tomorrow as bigger son is acting as Chris Tarrant in his class version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

    8) MrN's son 4 had a chat with me over the computer and then chatted to smaller son which made my day. :-) I do miss them. I even miss the dogs!

Wasn't too well yesterday evening (another allergy flare up, I think) so didn't post here but have been feeling better today which is good even though my hands still feel uncomfy. (((Hugs))) to anyone who's feeling off-colour.

    But here's five pleasures:

    1. Going to bed last night wrapped in a fleece and cuddling a hottie. It wasn't that cold but my body said I needed it and it was lovely. Think I'll do the same again tonight. (It's July!)

    2. Catching up on posts in Old Style.

    3. Doing lots of reading for work and discovering some very interesting bits and pieces online.

    4. Hot potato, fennel and mackerel salad for supper. Got the fish on offer and used up the veg box fennel (this week's 'problem' veg). Haven't cooked such a posh meal in ages.

    5. Caught up with the ironing - all done. House still in very good shape. :D

    Have a good night

    Evening all

Get well soon to all those who aren't feeling 100%

    1) Free t-shirt at work
    2) Getting some more sections of my process engineering course done
    3) Managing to buy a salad spinner (god I hate soggy lettuce) cost me 50p from Asda :money:
    4) Packed lunches all week so no extra spending
    5) Beautiful sunny day
    6) Getting out on my bike after work
    7) Spoke to the lovely lady in HR in Libya who confirmed that I would be a good match for international assignments and now have permission to apply for overseas posts - not too sure why I have to get permission but ho hum it's sorted
    8) Chat with my mum and nephew on the phone :D

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
