Lol! I know its a very ambitious project, but I've always been one to push my boundaries. Even if that does make the teacher think I'm a right scardey cat, and Tete laugh at me when I accidentally whimper!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

:rotfl:I can imagine you with pins everywhere, bits of fabric hanging off you, chalk in your hair and panicking that you've got a spare bit that you can't figure out where to put!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Afternoon everyone
Been catching up with all the posts and decided I must be the granny of the bunch as I'm 45  I'd better get our wedding planned quick smart before we need ribbon to decorate the zimmer frames (boyfriend is 49 :eek:)!!!!!
I'm off sick today cos I'm full of cold and started to wonder why I was pushing myself when I can hardly speak and have asthma but some people at my place go off with a sniffle. Anyway, been sitting here being quite productive as I have activated the wedding savings account, been buying christmas presents online through a cashback site, have cancelled 2 policies that came with my new phone and were free for the first month and have paid £100 off the Virgin CC (although I now owe more than before cos I had to use it in an emergency). I've also been looking at wedding dresses on line but it's actually quite hard to find one that won't make me look like mutton dressed as roadkill!!! Anyone know of any sites for wrinkly wedding dresses please let me know :rotfl:
Anyway, off to get more christmas presents xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
LOL Pilchard! You're as young as you feel and you seem very young at heart!
Are you wanting a big dress or something understated, like this?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That book apparently comes with a kit to make the bag on the front.
I have the book, it's really good! If you ask for it though make sure you ask for lots of felt too - You just get the bag, a pencil + some red thread (I think) so can't make anything unless you have fabric/felt. I found this out the hard way :sad:Thought it was really nice the forums were closed for two minutes to observe the silence.
Aw, that's nice! I was stood in the kitchen listening to Radio 1 when it was on - I hate it when Radio 1 do it as they put really sad songs on before the silence and I'm stood there sniffling! Makes me so glad my Cousin is home safe though. (although fireworks still freak him out, the big baby :undecided)
The dress you're making sounds so confusing Dinah!! Trust you to pick the most complicated one though!
Hi Pilchard! I'm sure you won't need to decorate Zimmer Frames though, maybe just baskets on the mobility scooter!I joke, I joke!
(and 49 & 45 is no where near old!) Sounds like you're having a way productive day though, yay for opening the wedding account!

Hope you feel better soon Pilchard! You're like the same age as Sarah Jessica Parker - that's not old! My uncle recently remarried and his wife felt a bit weird wearing white as she clearly has a son, so wore a wine-coloured bridesmaid dress instead and that was a bit more understated.
Got you some chalk Dinah, they only had the disc type ones but at 30p each I thought if you don't like them you can always get pencils later. Got a light and a dark one.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Thanks Tete you're a star! I have a light one (admittedly I snapped it) but the dark one would be grand. I have some white scraps I wanted to practice on this weekend, see if I can't make something interestingDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I've got a couple of 'simple gifts to sew' type books. Thought I might try to make a washbag or rag doll or something?! Basically something daft so I can learn to use my sewing machine. I almost took it out the box last night to find out what it looks like, but I chickened out.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
