So, the good news. NIMs dad has agreed to loan us the money to do the works to the house!!!! It does mean obviously we're going to have a £35-£40,000 loan hanging over our heads that we'll need to clear, but if one of us lost our job he wouldn't come battering on our door looking for payment.
So tomorrow we're going to make our first offer. Being very cheeky and going in 28% below asking price.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Hi everyone,
Haven't been on all day as I have been at a industry seminar about magazines, was quite fun with tasks and things and my team won so got a bottle of wine.
That is great news Dinah and at least the loan is with someone you know rather than a bank. What are the next steps?
We did the two minute silence at the seminar today. I am really sorry to hear about your nephews friend Pilchard, is awful what happens to these young men and women out there.
Found out today my friends sisters funeral is on the 23rd so will be booking that off work tomorrow.0 -
Fabulous news Dinah! :j I really hope you get the house! When you gonna put the offer in?Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »It's back in the frame! Went back and we can get there on the ferry - 2 nights in a private en-suite outside cabin and two nights in the Ibis in Bruges for £158, but OH seems to be taking some convincing and would prefer to go to London for some reason...? But Bruges has ICE SCULPTURES!!

Oohh how exciting re the house.... when we had this place we put 5% deposit down..... we're i think in negetive equity at the mo as we bought 17 months ago or there abouts but it will soon rise... good luck with the offer!0

Ooh very exciting Dinah, good luck with the offer, and the loan is a challenge if nothing else and we all know how you like THOSE! Louise, I don't think negative equity is a problem if you're staying put for a while, you do right not to worry.
Pilchard, so sorry to hear about your nephew's friend; my great uncle told me a story recently about something that happened to him in the war and he never normally talks about it so you don't realise.
I'm stealing your 'breastically challenged' phrase.
Wendz, I want your job, you're always getting freebies!
