Yay for the house Dinah - That's great news
Will have to update us asap when you've made the offer.
I agree with Tete - That kitty is so pretty! Looks a little tiddled off but in a very pretty way0 -
So, there is no hips pack, as the house went on the market before the 6th April. Thats a pain as the hips would have told us about the manhole at the back. So NIM is calling to ask the agent to ask the vendor about the manhole.
It was up for auction with a guide price of £115,000 and given it needs at least £40,000 of work doing to it we're hoping to get it near this price rather than anywhere near the asking price, as its a huge project, you couldn't live there during, and you'd need to wait a few years to turn a profit, so needs an owner occupier with somewhere else to live, as no one would want to rent out there either as its the edge of nowhere!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

C'mon girlies, keep me busy, all I'm doing is obsessing about the house.
For the record, still no answer to the manole question, so no offer made yet.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hello! Stop stressing about the house missy! Que sera sera and all that! Good luck though!
A woman at work is driving me mad at the minute, she’s the one who was totally rubbish when we first started and passed out because she was accidentally ODing on thyroid medication but the doctor originally said she was depressed, anyhoo, she’s back at work and doing something in the warehouse and she’s supposed to come into the office on an afternoon to help out- but she ‘doesn’t do phones or computers’ (using her incorrectly diagnosed ‘depression’ as an excuse), which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! She came in and said to me this morning, ‘I’m up to date with my work so save me some office work for this afternoon, I don’t want to sit and twiddle my thumbs!’, so now I have to find her work to do that doesn’t involve answering the phone or doing anything complicated on the computer! How annoying! I feel like saying I don’t do phones or computers too and seeing where that gets me! Why can some people get away with being totally useless?!?!
Oh well, only a day and a half until the weekend! Yippee! We’ve got a very exciting trip planned… to Tesco! Oh yeah! And maybe Aldi! Then to the bed shop! How fun, I’m old before my time!
A woman at work has just had trouble with an extension because the builder who originally told her he could move her man hole cover changed his mind after starting digging up her garden, came back 3 days later and filled in the holes he’d dug and took off with her £700 deposit! She’s not too happy to say the least so make sure yours is definitely moveable!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I just couldn't be that cheeky! I don't get how people get to push their luck so much.
Have sent smoke signals to a friendly planner in the authority, hes given me some handy inside knowledge. Nothing bad though, except we probably couldn't go down the side with an extension.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That woman sounds so annoying Birdie! What much good is someone who can't use the phone or computer and how hard is picking up a phone...bet she still chats on her mobile arghh!
Well done on the dooyoo Dinah I am waitign for my BP one to come through.0 -
Ooo good news on the house Dinah!
Birdie, that woman sounds awful, I'm not surprised she's doing your head in. It makes my blood boil when people get off with stuff like that - going the extra mile seems to mean that you always get the bad deal. Those stubborn people who don't try seem to always get their way (although not necessarily promoted!)
I am just trying to crack on with college work. I have my second meeting with my supervisors on skype today. As last month was my first month I am a bit worried that I haven't read enough, and that what I have written is rubbish! Feeling pretty nervous.
Then tomorrow at 12 we have the meeting with the mortgage advisor to see if we will be allowed to proceed with our offer on the house - and he will also tell us whether he thinks he can get us a mortgage or not. I have gone from being totally confident to being sure he'll say 'no' on both counts. It is quite terrifying. OH has gone and left me with all the paperwork, which is more than a bit annoying.
But on the plus side my sister is coming to London from Copenhagen tomorrow! And after the horrible financial interview we will go shopping - I am definitely taking the day off.
It's been an eek  week!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
