I pointed out to NIM if we borrow the money off his dad for the loan I'm gonna turn into a DF monster again trying to pay it all back so we can start a family.
Will you set up a monthly payment plan with him or will he just tell you to pay it back when you can? On the plus side at least it will be interest free!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I'd imagine a monthly payment plan - this all needs to be worked out though! He might tell us to only pay him lumps every time we save £5000 or something, as its a faff sending them to Ireland in such small sums. Can't see us managing to clear £30,000 in less than 3 years though. Which is a bit of a kicker as thats 3 more years till we can start a family. But, never mind, at least we'll have the house sorted ready for when we can, and we'll get some time just the two of us.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think
lump sums will be good, it might make it seem more manageable? You'll be a proper DFW monster, saying 'last £5k was raised in x number of months, I need to beat that!' You shouldn't worry too much about having it 100% cleared before you start a family, it'll be mostly gone by the time babies come along so it might take a little longer but it's not like you'll still have the whole £30k hanging around your neck. You really don't want to be waiting too long for babies, you've stressed that enough times so don't let a family loan delay you!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Doing some sums, the £10 a day challenge plus the £250 or £300 payment we're planning to give per month would have us payng it back in slightly over 4 years. So, all I have to do is at least half this, and I'dd be happyDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Aye I know what you mean Birdie, but from a practical standpoint my wage will be a lot lower on maternity, especially if I end up on the sick with my blood pressure before hand, so we wouldn't be able to met our commitments if my wages dropped significantly while I was pregnant.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I am sure Dinah "The DF Monster" can clear £30,000 in less than 3 years. I am putting my neck on the line and saying you will do it in 2 years. Especially if you ebay more and hit the quidco and the other daily clicks along with the reviews and everything else.0

I agree, i think there is a strong possibility that you could do in this time. Anyone else would take 6+ years to pay it back, but judging by past performances Dinah you will have it clear in no time!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I am sure you can do it too! If anyone can you can!0

I can smell a challenge.
Can Dinah "The DF Monster" and her cape crusaider (NIM) clear £30,000 in 24 months?
That is £15,000 per annum or £1250 per month or £288.46 per week or £41.10 (approx) per day0
