Hope you hear from him soon! Must be really nerveracking.
Poolie - sounds like you are missing mrs Poolie a lot hehe0 -
From NIM:
"They reckon theres offers closer to the asking price on the house since the 9th but that the offeror is in a chain.
Also they reckon there was a higher offer put in and rejected earlier this year.
Shes going to call the vendors and call us back.
I’ll ring them at 5 to see if we could look at the place sometime tomorrow."Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That sounds like the estate agent trying to put the price up. Stick were you are. If you have to put it up only do it in £1000 or £1500 blocks. The estate agent will get annoyed in the end and put it to the seller.0

Very sensible advice from Poolie there! If they're rejecting higher offers they must be mad, don't they know there's a recession?!
As first time buyers you're very attractive as you've no chain so stick at it, they'll want to sell to you over anyone else!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
£100k was a complete punt, we're considering going to £110 then leaving it, see if they contact us anytime next week. Both the newcaslt eand stockton agents have contacted us to say they will make the vendor aware there is some negotiating room but shes being unrealistic. The word NIM said they used was 'mad'Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

You can never tell what's going to happen when it comes to vendors and estate agents and solicitors etc. So, fingers crossed!
I know you're all clued up about this sort of thing, but I stumbled across a website the other day called property snake (am I allowed to say that? I still haven't got round to trying to hyperlink...) which tells you how long properties have been on the market and if and when they've dropped the asking price which is v interesting reading!
Anyways, hope you get some good news soonLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

It sounds like the estate agent has been given a price and told my the seller not to contact them unless over this price0 -
Poddle that is a very interesting site. Would be interesting to know what the seller has been doing with the price and what they are thinking.

Glad the meeting went well Lara
Keeping my fingers crossed for you Dinah, will be so exciting if you get it! I echo all the family comments too, it doesn't matter if you still owe a bit when you start a family. How amazing will it be when you post saying that you're pregnant?!Ooh exciting stuff!

Thanks Zig - have you had a big treat yet?!!! Woop woop meeting number 2 went well too! The mortgage broker said that unless there were any irregularities in our paperwork he would be recommending us for the house, and that he felt sure he could get us a mortgage!
So we can return our offer form on Monday and we are officially go! I am *so* excited, and OH is taking us out for tea tonight as a special treat.
Dinah it's *so* exciting you put in an offer too. I hope the vendor isn't as mad as NIM thinks and accepts something reasonable. I agree that it's all ok to owe NIM's Dad some cash before starting a family.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
