Cmon people I have nothing left to sell!!! Plus NIM is very keen to get some savings behind us as well as paying off the loan. I think 4 years would be the shortest possible time, but being realistic, it'll probably be 6 years... which more than likely means we'll play russian roulette with the health issues, and use the savings if we have to.

I personally think that there is always going to be something to be paid for. When you have paid off one thing there is always something else. Do you really want to wait and risk the health issues etc. I am not trying to say that you are wrong to want to be in a good financial situation but as I have been taught in the last week , life is short and you need to enjoy it.

Dinah you need to be careful, you want more than one child (I think!) so don't push the date that you start trying for a family back too far! You might take a while to concieve too so you really need to be mindful of that. At the end of the day money is just money, it isn't the end of the world if you don't have loads of it, NIM's Dad will be respectful of your situation I'm sure if it ends up taking you longer to pay it back than you hoped, or the last few thousand take a long time to get paid off because you start a family.

If you're worried about surviving on maternity leave you should work out what your pay will be and try to live off that from now on, saving the difference to help you out when you do have a baby.

That is a good idea Birdie.

I just had a look on find a property for a 1 bed flat to rent as we are going to start looking next year for someone on our own, found some really nice ones . Really shouldn't have done that!

Aww Birdie, you're so smart! I can try to do our post house budget from that, but since it'll be so different to what we have now with our current situation, it'll have to wait a while :D

Just think of all the fun trying to concieve and all the "excerise" it will bring.

Sorry mind has turned again! Will go back to crunching numbers while I work out how to get my previous pension transferred to current pension scheme.

Can you tell I am missing Mrs Poolie yet?

NIMs making an offer at 2.30. I know it will be refused, but I'm terrified the estate agent won't even pass it on. Or, more to the point, they won't be willing to drop to £120k.

Well I do have the odd flash of genius! :D

I hope the offer is sensibly considered by the vendor, even if they don't accept lets hope they come back with a decent asking price! :)

Its 5 to three and no word from NIM. There is 'playing it cool' and there is 'appearing not to be bothered'!
