There is only thanks button if you're not a member/not logged in, otherwise you just rate someone.

  • Morning, Dinah I really like your style of paintings, very pop art! Well done on getting all the stuff for the invites too, hope they work out OK. My cousin who I'm going to be a bridesmaid for in 2011 has just put a deposit down on the Wynyard - she got a grand off though because it's a Wednesday!

    Thank you *blushes*

Have to see how the invites develop. I'm thinking sort of a beaded cord around the spine to hold the insert in, with a metal tag on it saying 'wedding invitation' on the cord on the outside, and then just something on the invitation cover fairly plain and simple. Also see what other materials I ordered!!! I also got some cute silver rings, so thinking of doing those for the order of service, sticking two rings on some tissue paper on the cover or something.

Aye, scarily that still makes it a minimum of £6,000! It is a stunning building though, no denying it. If it was on looks alone we'd have been there like a shot, but the bedrooms are £280-£580 per night, and we thought that was a lot to expect people to pay when so many of our guests will be travelling a long way and have to stay over.

I want to finish at 8pm as NIM was such a star yesterday coming to the fayre with me, and then coming home and spending the whole night sorting out the website and making a pretty decent job of it (I think at least!). Anything left can transfer over to tomorrow, not a huge deal. Actually have tomorrow off though as going to see the dental surgeon in the morning, so considering spending the afternoon either working on my homework book, or setting up my sewing machine and trying it out. Decisions decisions.

Dinah, the site is looking lots better. I am currently working on Mrs Poolie's company site (www.jyctrading.com). I was at it last night for 4 hours and going to be spending all day on it. What car did you get?

Headlights should not be that hard to change. Saying that it is an Alfa you have which means you change the headlights and the exhaust will fall off!

The who reliability thnig about alfas is greatly exadgerated, mine has been the most reliable car I've ever had! It's just a faff getting the headlight off.

We didn't get a new car, they only offered us £800 for the alfa and £200 for the coupe which I think is a very, very harsh valuation, and if the car is only worth £800 we might as well keep it until it dies, as its not worth trading in.

I think your right in hanging onto it till it dies. At least it is not a morris marina as Pianos keep falling on those cars.

He told us on the phone he'd do a px value of £2000 for the two cars so I was very irked to get down there and be offered £1000 - he'd already seen the cars its not like they were in worse knick than expected!

  • Hiya

Sorry for butting in - I've read a few of the posts, but sadly haven't had time to see all of them.

Whereabouts in the country are you? I noticed on your budget for the wedding that you had make up down as £100. I do Vie at Home, and I charge £50 for bridal make up including a trial -your local consultant may well charge about the same. Just thought that any things you can get cheaper would help.

God luck with it all - admire the determination you have shown so far!!

That is really frustrating that he went back on his word
