Just bear in mind a manufacturer can put any RRP on anything - it does not make that item worth that money and is often designed to make it look like you get a bargain, this brings to mind things like Krug Bauman watches, massive RRP but you can get them dead cheap.

  • Hi. Alas I trusted Quidco not to deal with dodgy companies and I ordered the 5 knive set. I now look forward to being repeatedly billed for orders I never placed and receiving tons of spam. Unfortunately I used my work e-mail address, which has been 100% spam free until now.
But it's worse than all the above. Two days after I gave my name and address AND DATE OF BIRTH (because I was buying knives) to Jean Patrique, someone used the information to attempt to open a credit account on a clothing website called very.co.uk. Fortunately, very.co.uk were suspicious of the application and declined the account and wrote to me. It's scary when a company you've never dealt with tells you all your details, including date of birth.
So it would seem one of the places JP sells your details to (hopefully not JP themselves!) are extremely dodgy and will attempt to steal your identity in order to obtain credit.
    AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Ive had mine over 6 months now and they are okay. I didnt have any probs with the company either. My only complaint on quality is that they tend to mark in the dishwasher
  • i ordered the knifes after seeing the "deal" on quidco...that was 1 month ago and the knifes havent even arrived, when i rang them they said they are out of stock and i can have a refund but only for £1.99 and not the potage price of £10 so they make a tenner without even sending anything?

so this is blatently a scam, dont know what to do now?

Great! I just ordered these, seeing that on quidco it is advertised as a "free" offer. Even with the ridiculous postage I thought it was worth it. Very surprised Quidco are dealing with such dodgy people. Will try to cancel the order now.

edit - just called to try to cancel. Got passed round 3 numbers, put on hold for 7 minutes, passed round 3 people. In the end I have given up. Is there any way to stop the money going from the bank? I think not as was debit card. These sound like such a dodgy operation.

Yikes. I ordered these on the same offer last year and had no trouble. I'm no knife expert but I am pleased with the quality for what I paid and don't recall any trouble with the company, though they did take forever to arrive and I get their catalogues/junk email now and then but I expected that.
  • I complained to quidco who said they have done over 1000 of the deal and had no complaints. Also said quite a few staff had done the deal and found the knives to be ok. I'm happy to wait and see what happens now.
  • i ordered the knived on 1st september and they have still not arrived, whenever i call to ask im just told they are awaiting stock, and i can have a refund if i wish but not for p&p because its an offer or something?? i dont know? ive just said ill wait but i really cant see them coming.
  • Had mine close to 12 months now and thought they were OK on arrival and still happy with them. Fortunately, from reading the above, I paid by chq but received two sets anyway so no complaints here. Regular sharpening and they are like razors - 9" chef knife is one of my favourites. Was about to order some more stuff on line but don't think I'll bother now.
  • :mad:DAMN!! Wish i'd have read this thread before i ordered them (literally 5 mins ago!)
Suppose i'll just have to wait and see:undecided
