:rolleyes:Most full time workers can't afford a holiday abroad, I bet they think the same about working day in day out must be soul destroying watching someone who you pay your taxes for to jump on a plane and get a nice holiday for a fortnight.

totally irrelevant. If you can get a holiday you grab it.

So try to get your facts right before making generalisations - not everyone who signs on is a work shy sponger
Since no one else is @rsed to heed to boardguides comments then neither will I. I think you will find you never stated your facts when you originally posted your question. You never mentioned you redundancy pacakge

You did state you were going to do everything by the book which I didn't have a problem with.

Did I actually reply to your post  NO.

you will have to reclaim continiously for the 26wks to qualify for things like the jobgrant, housing benefit/council tax/mortgage interest run on and possibly some training courses, depending on what they have on offer in your area, one of the reasons for not paying while being abroad if you check your jobseekers agreement it shows you have to be available for work within 24hours unless you have exceptional circumstances.

We’re closing in on benefit thieves going abroad

    If you go abroad

Remember – if you claim benefits and go abroad, for any amount of time, you must tell us before you go as it could affect your benefits.
    • Jobseeker’s Allowance – example
Martin is on Jobseeker’s Allowance and decides to go off on holiday with this mates to Ibiza. If he doesn't tell us he's going, he's committing benefit fraud. If you are on Jobseeker’s Allowance, you need to let us know straight away that you are going abroad for any amount of time – even if it’s for a holiday – as this may affect your claim.
