Has anyone any experience of using the WinTV one on offer at Savastore ? i need an anologue / digital one ideally to use my laptop as a TV when away in the caravan, I bought a ADSTech one from PC World for £50 and it proved very unreliable this weekend , poor picture but watchable one night, nothing at all the next time then back to poor picture the third night, i was using it with a pretty substantial external aerial. It seemed to get very hot and the USB connection did not seem as good as it should be.

    Afternoon all,

Got the ADSTech Mini Dual TV USB tv tuner for my birthday today. (Currently half price at PCWorld (£49.99)).

Picks up ordinary analogue and Digital freeview.

Only just got it installed. Doesn't pick up digital with the antenna supplied but we live in a poor reception area so this is expected. Picks up more or less the same channels as my set top box when working off the roof aerial.

Pretty sure it uses the BDA drivers but haven't checked for certain yet.

I got mine this morning - its a KWorld DVB-T 355U, looking at the ebuyer description I thought it was a repackaged Freecom device. I can't seem to find any information about what chipset it actually is.

I bought it to go in my Linux (Fedora Core 5) server (to use in MythTV which is a PVR similar to MCE), has anybody got it working in Linux?

    Thanks

I have recived my USB dongle, works fine on windows XP, EXCEPT! Its only picking up BBC One, BBC Two, CBBC Channel and News 24!!

Im searching and searching for more information about this product, so far all i have found is: http://www.kworld.com.tw/uk/index_digital.htm. The model is listed as a KWorld DVB-T 355U. And unfortunatly for you linux fans, the site only offers Win XP drivers.

If anyone gets this to work with more then four channels please let me know.

Sounds like you're not receiving all the multiplexes - can you receive them in your area? Check http://www.freeview.co.uk/.

Yeah, got three digital set top boxes with all the channels working fine.

im even using the same roof aerial, the channel quality is perfect but it just wont find anything but the 618khz multiplex.

googled my butt off and searched the manufactuerers site, even someone on ebuyer has the same problem.

Yes, and I've asked on the linux-dvb mailing list - they say its not supported!

So I'm sending mine back to ebuyer tomorrow!

Computer TV tuners (both analogue and digital) need a better quality of signal than a digibox in the majority of cases.

One of the problems is that your PC is a source of RF interference. As it's a USB device you could use a USB extension lead to get device further away from the PC.
