Nothing to do with Loancheck though are they? MOJ regulated and also on companies house with no name changes so maybe it was a firm that Petermb knew of and was thinking of passing the complaint on to.

No but one name keeps on cropping up, I think you know who I mean.

Also Complete claims who are also introducers to Feather Finance.

How about this as a possible scenario.

Loancheck risk assess each case and recommended the case to a solicitor who rely upon Loancheck's arguments.

The solicitor then pays Loancheck a large fee for a report to confirm the case is a good one

The solicitor runs the case and finds out that there is no chance of the client ever getting any money as the claim has very little chance of succeeding, even though the report was positive.

Petermb, if you were the solicitor what would you do?

Would you insist that Loancheck gave you back the money?

What would you say to the client?

Of course, this is just a hypothetical scenario and as such should not be taken as a reflection of the reality of what has happened

    This is my opinion only

The decent thing all round would have been to give the client the option to continue with that solicitor or to move the case without charge whatsoever. The problems were created by Loancheck and the Solicitors and they should carry the can.

Obviously Loancheck wont carry the can now because the company is in administration. That only leaves the solicitor and it appears that they are not prepared to cover the cost.

I understood that each case was insured by after the event insurance and if the case failed after 90 days the solicitor could claim off that insurance.

I would refer to the Conditional Fee Agreements that were signed at the time. You should have had everything explained at the time you signed. You should have a copy of the agreement.

If someone can get me a copy of the agreement signed with First Legal, I will run it past my solicitor and see where there may be issues. I have a copy of the CFA for Watsons and for Dawson Hart.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

  • The whole black knight / loancheck relationship is a joke

Loancheck used to utilise software created by the former severn administration, this software was then copied by the loancheck IT department, who now work for black knight the company that provides / provided the software for loancheck. How coincidental is that?

I do not care what anyone says, they are / were connected

and if Thomas's post is correct i read earlier that he doubts if black knight will fund anymore of the loancheck cases, surely this cant be right as they own all the loancheck cases, so in effect loancheck cases are no more they are all black knight cases

    i just dont get it

    does anyone else?

    I@Smart Legal Services
    Black Knight Associates
So Andrew Chadwick is director of Heenans and also Director of BK - BUT it is said that the reason why Watsons cases etc are held up is the fact that Loancheck allegedly never paid BK for the work so cannot continue. (BK hold the database or something!!)

Does Petermb then refer clients to Heenans,BK - Andrew Chadwick????

Think that esmerelda confirmed they are not the same andrew chadwick so ignore.
