EXACTLY marshallka! How they can say that they are 'deciding which ones have the best chance of success' is beyond belief isn't it? After all, I've been waiting 21 months now and others on here have been waiting longer. It's just beyond disgraceful.

This is what has been quoted from my solicitor.

    WITHOUT PREJUDICE

    "Having not received
a satisfactory response from the administrators of Severn (the main
Loancheck Company) we have written to them to terminate this firm’s
agreement with them and inform them that we will now deal with our
clients directly, without any further reference to Loancheck.

We are very grateful to you for your patience in waiting for the
administrators to agree how we may proceed. The whole “Loancheck”
situation has been completely unsatisfactory, but we can now assure you
that we will press on with your claim in the usual way and confirm that
we do not have to have any further dealings with any of the Loancheck
    Companies.

With that in mind, I shall review your file after this recent short
delay and report to you shortly on the best way to progress your claim.

Once again, thank you for your patience and I should be grateful if you
would either give me a quick call or send me an email to confirm that
you are happy for me to proceed in this way.
    "

The only problem with this letter is that you have yet to see what the Administrators stance will be.

However, it's the solicitor's judgement and they have to be applauded for their positive approach.

But surely in "law" they would take "reasonable" time into consideration. I would certainly enquire about what constitutes reasonable within business contracts like this.

I do quite agree but they are going to cover their own !!!!!!. Reasonable time has not been ussed in the agreements. Or not as far as I can see

The thing that is the problem here is that FOS could have looked into these complaints against the insurer and now cannot as they will not whilst there is a contract with another firm over the same complaint. It seems that those that have their "cases" dismissed now after all this time have little if not no chance of this.

Its such a mess for all concerned.

Is it not the case that as far as there is an investigtion going on and the firm know that you are complaining then it can go over the 6 months with the FOS. I had this with one of mine and i told the FOS that I had contacted the lender and told them that there was a complaint in progress which had not been settled and the FOS took this on. I wonder exactly what their guidelines are.

Peter could you elucidate further please on this. I have one, with Dawson Hart and they are wanting to take the case over although it has gone through barrister so is in the final stage. I have one with Watson and I have had continuing communication but has got no further am awaiting further news from watson.
Also please can you confirm that the contract CFA is between the solicitor and the client not the client and loancheck.?

    Many thanks

i have had a claim with both dawson hart and watsons both told me i had a "good chance " of getting my money back through missold ppi after years of giving them info and waiting for a outcome they have come back and said opppps sorry we dont think we can go any further with your claim .

Another claim i had with HEENANS solicitors has been ongoing for ages years . i was told by loanchecker that i was misssold ppi and should get quite a sum back that was in 2007 . Now Heenans rang me yesterday and said they have ceased trading as of yesterday .

Any ideas what i should do now give up on ever getting this money back or try with another solicitors AGAIN ???

Petermp do you have any ideas as you was the one who helped me start this ???

    Hi Katie

Sorry I am not able to advise on this. Hopefully Peter or UTUBE may be of help. Have you tried to claim the PPI back on these on your own? I have managed to claim back nearly £20,000 with the advice from this site.

I hope somebody is able to help you with this.

hi, In december I gave watson's formal notice of intention to make complaint to the law society. It was then that they decided to answer me (on reciept of the letter may I add). Andrew Watson had told me that on friday of that week he was having a meeting to discuss the cases and to decide basically which ones had the best chance of success (what a cop out!). He told me he would update me following that meeting. well of course he hasn't. so I have now emailed him and told him that I am making complaint to the law society. I wil, of course follow this through if I don't get a response within the next 48 hours or so. I've had enough. I feel for everyone else too. It's a dreadful situation.

The same happened to me i had a claim with these it went through all the checks to see weather i had a claim risk assesors etc...then months later i hadnt heard anything so rang and was told it was with a barrister and i would get a update soon . I then got a letter saying the barrister didnt feel my claim was strong enough to win so they are ending my claim . Same happened with Dawson Hart for a different loan of mine . im so frustrated because ive been told i had good claims.
